Ventriloquist insane challenge, to talk at the same time.

I have never seen a ventriloquist dummy that wasnt terrifying

Ventriloquists are usually performing for a crowd of people who aren't sitting close to the stage. Facial features have to be exaggerated so the details and expressions can be picked up from far away. It's the same reason stage makeup looks so garish up close.

Came to say this. I don't know why people still make them in this style. So unsettling.

That is incredible..and it would be hilarious, if there was just his buddy sitting under the table

It's like when you try to catch yourself in the mirror. Anyone else ever do that and you're always just a second away.

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector?

The puppet looks like that 40 year old dude who says he looks like a teenager.

“Double voice” ventriloquism as shown in this video is very difficult and rare, but there are probably a handful of artists have mastered this skill.
43
u/cheesehead144 14h ago
It's an absurd level of skill but listening to it closely you can still hear the dummy's voice come 'after' but I think the illusion is that he's talking more slowly 'broadly' while the dummy is talking 'tightly' so it seems like it overlaps.

That doll looks like the that 40 year old who thinks he looks like he's 16 and it both makes me not able to take him seriously and creeps me out

Don’t believe it. This is one of those things that is truly unbelievable and to be honest I don’t actually believe it… Obviously I could be wrong but personally, I just don’t believe this is what’s happening.

u/zamfire 14h ago
So what you are saying is that you don't believe it
52
u/baogody 14h ago
He's saying that he honestly wouldn’t buy into a single word of this story because the whole thing just sounds way too absurd to be real, and he just can’t bring himself to swallow any of it, though sure, he could always end up being wrong, but at the end of the day, his gut is just straight up refusing to believe this is actually happening.

The only thing that makes it believable is seeing what beatboxers are capable of, but that's not talking

u/bZbZbZbZbZ 14h ago
i agree, while the idea is initially implausible the realisation of the skill is equally improbable hence i therefore decree that it is not in fact the case that events are occurring in the purported manner

u/Pawtuckaway 9h ago
Yeah, I don't believe it either. He doesn't seem like he is all that good even during the first bits when they are talking separately. When the dummy is talking he looks very strained and many times is even visibly moving his lips.
I don't believe for a second that suddenly he can switch back and forth perfectly while looking like it is only him speaking naturally when he couldn't do that before.
•
u/RememberThinkDream 9h ago
I don't believe you.
•
u/brute-forced 9h ago
Well, don’t believe it then. This is one of those things that is truly unbelievable and to be honest I don’t actually believe it… Obviously I could be wrong but personally, I just don’t believe this is what’s happening.

basically like beat box artists doing several instruments at the same time I guess
which, by the way, I deem as equally impossible as this

It's pretty interesting that a human can overtalk himself... Ventriloquism, on the other hand, is.... not.

Still very hard to do but I have a feeling if you slowed it down the voices would be between eachother hence why he was talking fast to make the words begin to blend
•
u/nakhumpoota 3h ago
Yup and each word is cut off leaving your brain to complete it which adds to the trick.

Imagine what kind of a loser you'd have to be to disparage someone because they have a really impressive skill that took a lot of practice.
