i’m trying to edit pages for a niche uk tv show that has a series out at the moment, and some cast members have been listed on the wrong episodes. obviously, therefore, i’m trying to remove them but they keep getting declined due to it being “unable to verify”. i’m guessing they’re not reviewed by humans so i’m not sure what evidence i can supply to prove it? is there some kind of format to explain why you’re removing a credit that has a high chance of being approved? i’m going to try again but just in case i’m missing something obvious i thought i’d ask

I typed the dialogue as heard from the movie.
Without constructive criticism/feedback, I don't even know what to correct!?

I've asked a lot of people to recommend the best science fiction movies and TV series they've watched and many of them suggested some interesting titles
But whenever I searched for those recommendations on Google and checked their IMDb ratings I found that many of them had ratings below 7 and some were even below 6
At this point I started wondering whether IMDb ratings actually matter or whether I'm missing out on some amazing movies and series just because their ratings are low
Have you ever watched a sci fi movie or series with a low IMDb rating that you genuinely loved
I'm curious to know whether IMDb ratings are actually a reliable way to judge a movie or series or if they're just numbers that don't mean much

For months whenever I try to look something up on the IMDb app, this is the screen I get when I want to look at an actor's filmography or episodes to a show. I've uninstalled, cleared cache/storage, logging out-in, all the things.
It's been about a month since I've opened the app, and I tried again this morning and nothing has changed. Anyone else?

The Thin Red Line (1998)
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Black Hawk Down (2001)

I feel the ratings are not real. Peoples ratings are not counted. Like in animal farm some animals are more equal than others communist mentality.
""Weighted Average Ratings
IMDb publishes weighted vote averages rather than raw data averages.
The simplest way to explain it is that although we accept and consider all votes received by users, not all votes have the same impact (or ‘weight’) on the final rating.
When unusual voting activity is detected, an alternate weighting calculation may be applied in order to preserve the reliability of our system.
To ensure that our rating mechanism remains effective, we do not disclose the exact method used to generate the rating.
See also the complete FAQ for IMDb ratings."
If people are heavily disliking a movie sorry we are not going to count your rating and give it a ridiculous 7.5 on a crappy movie. That's not honest that's not liking what the fans are saying. That's a total lack of transparency.

So far, the only announcement is Titanic LIVE. Given there was a re-release only a few years ago for the 25th, how likely do we think it is there’ll be one for the 30th in 2027?

With the recent pre-release/limited release of You Can See Everything, one thing has become apparent; this film is special. 9.3 IMDb rating for a film is basically unheard of (pretty much surparses Shawshank Redemption for the number 1 imdb spot), ESPECIALLY on a goddamn DOCUMENTARY, and bear in mind these are HARSH, EARLY CRITIC RATINGS. Typically on IMDb, the film's rating after release goes up, not down.
When I first saw the trailer I was immensly intruiged, however I knew that like a film such as Digger, it could go either way, either running perfectly with its concept, or falling incredibly flat and being a boring, slow, hard to watch mess, but I think they may have pulled off one of the best documentaries in recent times. Am going to see it ASAP.

I ranked every movie I've seen this year, 38 so far. The Odyssey landed at number one for me and I know that's probably the expected pick given all the hype going in, but it genuinely earned it for me, didn't feel like hype talking.
what surprised me more is Brand New Day sitting at number two, I didn't expect to like it that much walking in. and a Jackass movie ended up ranked above some stuff I'd call "better" on paper, though I think some nostalgia was driving that more than anything.
I'm curious how everyone else's year stacks up once you actually rank it out instead of just going off memory. does your list surprise you at all once you see it laid out, or does it mostly match what you expected?

Anyone working in production who have experienced what seems like AI bots submitting episode info on IMDB? We‘ve got a problem with huge amounts of wrong information on our productions, and it seems like end credits are directly translated (and often wrongfully translated, causing people being mis-credited all over the place) from the original language to English, and submitted on IMDB. I’ve spoken with distributor, channels, sales agent etc to see if they are the ones submitting any of this information, but none of them are. I have reached out to IMDB, who assure us that the only ones who upload such info are «human people», who supposedly sit and review each line one by one. But why would someone with absolutely no connection to the production do that laborious work? it makes no sense? And the clean up takes forever! Every time a new episode is released (for this show it was every Saturday) the following Monday the IMDB page is updated wrongfully. Including previous credits we already fixed manually. It is a mess and such a headache. IMDB denies the use of bots, but I cannot see any other explanation for this.
I have created an amazon account from imdb's website to check some episodes but as soon As I finished creating the account and login to IMDB it got suspended by amazon for violating terms and services. Is there a way to regain access to my account or even delete it?

For example, Freaky Friday, School of Rock are both very good movies. Maybe not the best, but they are good, aren't they?
But on IMDB one got only 6.4, the other 7.2

As someone who’s spent hundreds of hours browsing IMDb episode curves, never have I ever seen one quite like this. This animated star-wars spinoff goes from pretty terrible ratings in its final season to one of the most generational episode runs, IMDb ratings wise, in all of cinema history, even rivaling Breaking Bad (before the review bombings). So is ANYONE able to explain what in the hell happened if you’ve watched the show, and how would writing in any capacity allow for ANYTHING like this to EVER HAPPEN.

When I log a movie, sometimes the release date changes for re-releases. For example, I guess Shin Godzilla didn’t get a wide release when it came out in 2016, so last year’s re release is the date that shows when you log it. It feels wrong that Shin Godzilla is listed as a 2025 film but whatever. Then there are other issues, like Scooby-Doo in Where’s my Mummy (2005) doesn‘t belong next to One Battle After Another. Swingers (1996) had a wide release but is now grouped in 2025. The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (2025) is listed in 2026 for when it dropped on Paramount+, not when it had its theatrical run. These kinds of things irk me tbh

my girlfriend, a native hindi speaker with limited 90’s american pop culture exposure, asked me which movies i would recommend to her to get my taste. I made this list: Shawshank was obv #1 but why did it flop?
1994 had Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King and Shawshank all fighting for attention.
Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman have blamed the title because people genuinely couldn’t remember what the movie was called. It’s now IMDb’s highest-rated movie.
Made this list of my top 5 classic cult movies I asked her to watch.

How come my 'Watched' switches to 'Mark as watched'. I watched the movie, I clicked 'Mark as Watched'. Come back later and it says 'Mark as watched. Yes I am logged in proper and using the desktop and phone app. Doesn't happen immediately but down the road it will not register I watched it. What gives?

i've been diligent about marking a movie as watched and adding to a watchlist. but many years ago, i kept a separate document. Now im using a clanker to compare it, and there are a ton of movies on my list that are not in my watchlist any more and not marked as watched.
