IFTTT is moving to usage-based pricing

Received this just now. Jury is out until they announce fully wether this is a good or bad thing….

Hi there,
As of Wednesday, October 28th, IFTTT will be moving to usage-based pricing. There will be more exciting news to come next week, but the most important thing to know is that your price will not change as part of this update.
What's changing?
IFTTT plans are moving to usage-based pricing, meaning that our tiers will reflect how frequently you run Applets and the type of Applets you build. You will be able to create, enable, and publish as many Applets as you want, with increased access to the most powerful features on IFTTT.
If you’re likely to go beyond your plan’s usage, don’t worry. We’ll reach out personally next week to support you, and there’s nothing you need to do in the meantime.
Why the change?
AI is making automation more powerful than ever, and we want you to have access to all of it. Over the past few years, we gated services and limited Applets on each plan as we worked toward a more sustainable IFTTT. We now recognize that was a mistake. We’re building the easiest way to automate, and our pricing should be just as simple.
We look forward to sharing more details and updates next week.
In the meantime, if you have questions, please reply to this email and our team will be happy to get back to you.
TTThanks for automating with us!

Share an Applet How to automatically copy new Outlook events into Google Calendar

Hey everyone! We’ve had a few people ask about this in tickets recently, so I thought I’d share it here.

If your work calendar lives in Outlook but you run your life out of Google Calendar, this Applet copies every new Outlook event over for you:

How it works

  • If: Microsoft 365 Calendar, “New event added”
  • Then: Google Calendar, “Create a detailed event”
  • Copies over: title, start and end time, location, description, and a link back to the original Outlook event

Setup

  1. Open the Applet and hit Connect.
  2. Connect Microsoft 365 Calendar (this is the one for Outlook calendars) and Google Calendar.
  3. Pick which Outlook calendar to watch and which Google calendar the events go into.

Good to know

  • It copies new events only. If an event gets moved or cancelled in Outlook, you’ll need to update it in Google Calendar yourself.
  • It’s one way, Outlook to Google. If you want the reverse too, there’s a separate Applet for that.
  • New events can take up to 5 minutes to show..

Also a quick heads up: we’ve got some updates to the Google Calendar service coming soon. I’ll share more here once they’re live.
