Ive had this iPhone 14PM since launch, so 4 years now. Paid for 2TB of iCloud and never had any storage issue. but it seems like over the years, system data and OS is slowly creeping up in storage size. I don’t recall it being taking up so much space when I first got the phone.

just curious what everyone else’s experience is and how much is it taking up on your device?

EDIT: System data - 22GB and OS - 30GB.......

for context: i got this brand new in mid august, & i didn’t even drop it once. i was bored & took of the cover & saw the entire back glass shattered, i had it laminated before. (the camera plateau is completely unaffected)
it does remain completely functional

I have a iphone 2020 SE 79% battery health and i found a listing for an iphone 14 pro for 80% battery health for 220 euros, is this a good deal? my other choice is the iphone 14 plus for 240 euros 84% health

Side note: Glacier hiking is intense

Pushed it hard with the Northern Lights and got some excellent results

I’m currently using an iPhone with 128GB storage, and around 115GB is already occupied. I’m still running iOS 18.

I’m thinking about updating my iPhone, but I’m worried about storage space.

Is it worth updating from iOS 18?

How much additional storage will the update consume?

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have updated their iPhones with limited storage.

Some more pictures I took today. If you’re ever considering moving onto a newer iPhone - maybe get the base or Air as your daily driver, and hold onto this for travel photography. I still think 14 Pro’s cameras produce just as good if not better pictures than the latest models.

My iPhone 14 Pro does this weird thing where the camera automatically opens at the 2x zoom setting. It also does not display the 3x zoom button on the bottom, only 1x and 2x. Also, the .5 mode on the main camera (not front facing) does not seem to exist any longer. It used to launch at 1x, there would be 3 zoom options, and .5 as well. I know I can manually zoom to 3x, but it's less convenient and I can't find any way to do .5 at all. I am on OS 26, just updated to the latest version 26.7. I don't want to update to OS 27 if I son't have to. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes? Is there a setting I can change? Thanks in advance.

My automatic updates are off.
I still haven’t upgraded to iOS 27. do it or it’s not worth it?

Всех приветствую, заметил еще давно что мой телефон во время зарядки ночью, не зависимо от того проводная зарядка или беспроводная, перезагружается. Телефон утром просит ввести пароль и пин код сим карты, так я это и заметил.
Перезагрузки происходят не каждую ночь, обычно это было до 5 раз за месяц, но за неделю он перезагрузился уже 3 раза, меня это насторожило и начал разбираться. Зашел в аналитику там пишет SystemMemoryReset там сказано что забилась оперативная память на 64% при пороге 65% и указан самый крупный процесс, в одном логе пишет что самый крупный процесс это тик ток, в другом Яндекс карты, в другом сафари, и какой-то kernelTask.
Сразу скажу, логов по типу panicfull и resetcounter нет.
Память на телефоне не забита, доступно 33гб, менял АКБ чуть меньше года назад, на оригинальный снятый с донора, телефон видит АКБ как подлинное, состояние 100%
Еще прочитал что айфон практически постоянно держит оперативную память забитой и сам ее правильно распределяет. Пользуюсь исключительно оригинальными зарядки или с припиской MFI.
Вообщем я уже в тупике, с чем это может быть связано, чат гпт устал разбираться и отправил меня в сервисный центр эпл)

I've been using my 12 pro for two years now and I'm now thinking of getting 14 pro mainly for camera and new display experience with dynamic island and high refresh rate. So, is it worth it to go for it or get 15 pro by saving a bit more, I really don't like its titanium body, doesn't feel premium in hand.

I took these shots this morning of the Jellyfish cloud from the SpaceX rocket launch this morning. No editing. Still a good camera.

It simply infuriates me how beyond 80% it crawls like a snail , even with optimized charging turned off.
Note for mods : no , this wasn’t in the Q&A , also nothing in the rules is about charging issues either.

I’ve had this baby since February of 2023. I think it’s time to move on 😭
