💎 Megathread [Megathread] The App Shelf — October 2026

# Welcome to The App Shelf

You must promote your apps here if you do not qualify to post in the main feed through Trust or Transparency, as explained in our [Phase 2 Moderation Update](https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1u9aw0f/).

You are also required to limit promotion to this megathread if you:

* Do not yet have 10 local community karma in r/iOSApps.

* Are promoting an app that uses Generative AI or is an AI-wrapper.

* Are promoting a "Vibe Coded" app (AI-generated without manual validation).

# 📋 Required Format

All promotion MUST follow the ABC format or it will be removed:

* \[App Name/Title\] (Screenshot encouraged!)

* A — Answer: What problem does your app solve?

* B — Better: Name a competitor(s) and explain what you do better.

* C — Cost: Pricing details (Free/IAP/Sub/Lifetime) + App Store Link.

P.S. Promotion here counts towards the 30-day limited promotion rule (Rule 2).

# ⚠️ WARNING

There is a high probability that Reddit’s filters will auto-remove your comment here if:

  1. You have not verified your email in your Reddit profile.
  2. Your very first interaction in this sub is a promotional link.

For the Community: Please remember to upvote gems and downvote spam/clones. Your feedback in this thread will directly influence which apps we highlight in future community showcases!

📢 Announcement Clarification of Trust and Transparency

I'd like to further explain the rules found here since many people keep asking why their posts are removed:

https://www.reddit.com/r/iosapps/comments/1u9aw0f/riosapps_moderation_update_phase_2_trust/

Snippets below.

To qualify for the main feed, you need to satisfy 10 local karma requirements firstly. But this is what it means to be on the 2 tiers above Megathread:

Tier 1 — The Trust Path → Main Feed

Any one of these signals qualifies you for the main feed (as long as you also meet the 10+ community karma minimum):

  • App Store track record — your app has 20+ ratings/reviews on the App Store (number subject to change).
  • Established GitHub project — a real development history (100+ stars on any GitHub repo).
  • Recognized Developer — you've been granted an app-name developer flair (already well-known / trusted in r/iOSApps, at moderator discretion).

If you have any of these, you've already earned a measure of trust. Post to the main feed.

You have established yourself and the mods recognize that. We trust you to do the right thing for the goods of the subreddit. But do not abuse it.

Tier 2 — The Transparency Path → Main Feed

Not in the App Store yet and not an established developer? You can still qualify for the main feed by being open about who you are and giving users real reasons to trust you.

Posts on this path must include BOTH:

  1. A real-life identity and real contact details — your actual name and a way to reach you (an established company or business presence, a portfolio, LinkedIn). This shows you're not a throwaway account dropping unknown software.
  2. A website with a published Privacy Policy and Terms of Service — linked directly in your post. This is not a replacement for the App Store link, but rather in addition to.

This is the middle ground: you may not have a major reputation yet, but you're willing to stand behind your app in public. What we look for is the developer history or in the case of company, the willingness to take financial responsibility for it.

Not a throwaway account, not an app social account, not something people can spring up within an afternoon (gmail address, website without domain, etc.)

Thank you for your understanding to make the sub a better place for everyone. We would all benefit from the filtered visibility for quality apps.

🎁 Freemium Localised pricing can now be automated using Price Point Parity!

Post image
5 Upvotes

A - What is Price Point Parity?

Price Point Parity is a Mac and iOS + iPadOS app that keeps your IAP and subscription prices up to date in every country for you. Connect your App Store Connect API key, pick any app, in-app purchase or subscription, choose a pricing strategy, and it works out all 175 countries at once - showing you the price and what you actually keep after Apple's cut and estimated local tax. Review it, hit apply, and it writes straight back to App Store Connect. There's an available Preview Mode with three sample apps, so you can try each feature before touching a real price.

IAP and subscription name localisation is also supported!

B - Price Point Parity is better than doing it in App Store Connect, leaving it to Apple's automatic equalisation or Localise Prices.

Apple gives you one option: convert your base price and round it. Price Point Parity gives you strategies that reflect how you actually want to price, for example:

  • Equal Value (scales by each country's purchasing power, so it feels equally affordable everywhere)
  • Equal Proceeds (you keep the same amount per sale in every country)
  • Blend of the two
  • Apple's own equalised prices
  • Copy Another Product, or Match Ratio, which keeps your yearly at a fixed multiple of your monthly in every country instead of letting that discount drift market by market.

Then you adjust:

  • Charm rounding that knows what a charm price looks like in each currency (¥490 and ₩39,000, not a blind .99)
  • Floor and ceiling on your proceeds so no country earns you too little
  • Flat percentage bump for inflation or a sale.

Filter countries by region or income tier and apply to just those.

Everything is reviewable and reversible - full price history with snapshots you can restore any time, scheduled sales that revert themselves on a date you set, and CSV export of the whole table. On Mac you can set automations to check daily, weekly or monthly and either notify you when prices drift or publish small changes for you, holding anything large for review. It runs in the background with a menu bar item, so your prices stay current without you opening the app.

No account, no tracking. Your API key lives in your keychain and your pricing data stays on your device and your own iCloud - it never reaches me or any third party.

C - Cost

Free forever for 1 app (including all of its in-app purchases and subscriptions).

5 Apps: £1.49/month or £9.99/year.

Unlimited Apps: £3.99/month or £15.99/year.

Every feature is in the free tier - strategies, adjustments, history, automations, CSV, the lot. Paying only raises how many apps you can publish prices to, and Preview Mode is always free and unlimited, so you can test as much as you like. It also helps support me and future development of the app.

All feature requests are 100% welcomed!

🎈 Free I saved 2,500+ posts but opened a handful. So we spent ~2 months building an iPhone app that turns saves into things you can action upon and complete!

I saved a one-pot pasta reel a few weeks back. When I wanted to make it recently, I scrolled through my saves for 10-15 minutes, but couldn't find it, and ended up ordering in. Then I realised I'd done the same thing with a café in Goa, a workout routine I wanted to add, and about 15-20 products I definitely wanted to buy.

Things I tried before building this:

  • Instagram collections - you have to sort at the moment of saving, which nobody does
  • Screenshots - camera roll became a second graveyard with no context on where the post came from, and lol I can never find the screenshot when I need it the most
  • Pasting links into Notes - worked once or twice, then I stopped because it was two extra steps every time (and you still have to remember which note you used)

So my brother and I built an app that makes your saves usable:

You save any posts from different apps or download your Instagram data export → the engine goes through every post, sorts it into folders of recipes / places / products / workouts / ideas, pulls out the useful bits (ingredients, location, key details) and also makes the whole thing searchable in plain English via a chat interface. Like "That pasta reel from a Korean creator" finds it in seconds.

And believe me I am myself surprised: after saving it to resaw, I actually cooked 13 recipes in a month that had been sitting there for over an year. Saved places turned up as pins onto the map, so when I visit any place I could see every spot I'd saved nearby.

What we are working on now:

- We started with iOS, Mac app and Android is on its way
- We are going deep into building category specific flows, which will help any user to action with minimal friction possible

Link to the iOS app - Download from here (It’s completely free)

Please try it out and let us know how was your experience and what worked well/ areas where we can improve/ build upon.

🎁 Freemium Steptastic turns fitness into a virtual challenge around the world!

A - What is Steptastic?

Steptastic is a fitness challenge app that lets you complete virtual journeys by tracking your real-world activity.

Whether you prefer walking, running, cycling, swimming, or burning calories at the gym, your progress moves you along your chosen route. You can travel solo or compete against friends and family to see who reaches the destination first.

The goal is to make staying active feel a little more rewarding and give you something to work towards.

B - Steptastic is better than general fitness apps since it creates a unique style challenge

The main feature of Steptastic is its virtual fitness challenges, but there's a lot more included.

You can create walking, cycling, swimming, or calorie-based challenges, making it suitable for different types of exercise rather than just counting steps.

Group Challenges let you compete with friends and family by racing around virtual routes together, while daily tasks encourage healthy habits beyond simply exercising.

The app also includes activity goals with analytics so you can track your progress over time, maintain streaks by consistently hitting your targets, and unlock badges by reaching fitness milestones and achievements.

I built it because I found it much easier to stay motivated when I was working towards something instead of just looking at a step count.

C - Cost

Steptastic is free to download, with an optional Plus upgrade.

7 day free trial, then $0.99/week, $2.99/month, $12.99/year, or one-time lifetime purchase of $19.99

This helps to support continued development while unlocking additional features and improvements.

I'd love to hear any feedback or feature ideas, and I'm happy to answer any questions about how it works!

🎁 Freemium I updated my photo cleaner for iPhone Duo

Post image
2 Upvotes

I've been building CleanKit, a photo cleaner that puts you in control of what gets deleted, while making it faster to review and clean up photos in batches.

The latest update adds support for iPhone Duo!

Answer

The idea behind CleanKit is pretty simple: I wanted to make photo cleanup faster without letting an algorithm decide which photos to delete.

In Grid View, you can see multiple photos at once, compare similar shots, and swipe across multiple photos to delete them in batches.

If you prefer reviewing photos one by one, you can switch to Card View, where you swipe left to delete or right to keep.

With iPhone Duo, I wanted both ways of cleaning up photos to work naturally on the compact and expanded screens.

Better

Apple Photos lets you delete multiple photos too, but it takes a few steps: tap Select, choose the photos, then tap Delete.

With CleanKit, you can just swipe across the photos you want to delete, even several at once. It might only save a few taps, but it makes the whole process feel much smoother, especially when you have hundreds of photos to clean up.

On iPhone Duo, the larger screen makes this even more useful. You can see more photos at once, making comparisons easier. The layout also adapts as you fold or unfold the phone.

Cost

CleanKit is free to download.

Free users get 100 Card View swipes per day, plus 3 free batch cleanups in total.

Pro unlocks unlimited cleanup and all features for $1.99/week or $19.99/year.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clean-up-photos-cleankit/id6748351314

Still working on CleanKit and making improvements as I go. Always happy to hear feedback!

💎 Lifetime I got tired of Secret Santa drama in the group chat, so I made an app where even the organizer can't see who got who

Every year it's the same thing. Someone draws their own name, someone peeks at a paper slip, and the person running it secretly knows everyone's match. Then the group chat turns into 40 messages of "wait who has me??"

So I built Secret Gift: Secret Santa. The video above shows the whole flow.

Answer – what it does:

• Make an event, set a budget and a date

• Send one code (or QR) to the group, and everyone joins on their own phone

• Exclude pairs who shouldn't draw each other (couples, siblings, your boss)

• Draw, and each person sees only their own match. The organizer doesn't either.

Better – why not just use paper or a website:

• No sign-up. No email, no password. You open it and you're in, because I hate apps that make you create an account just to draw names.

• Reveals happen privately on each person's phone, so there are no emails to lose and no organizer spoilers

• Wishlists, so nobody has to ask "so what do you want lol"

• 14 themes: Christmas, White Elephant, Halloween, even Valentine's

• History, so you can look back at past exchanges

• Works in EN / ES / PT / FR / DE

Cost:

Free to download, and your first 2 events are free. Premium (IAP) removes ads, unlocks every theme, and gives you unlimited events with up to 30 people:

• Weekly: $0.99

• Yearly: $4.99

• Lifetime: $9.99 (one-time, no subscription)

For most groups, the free tier or a single week is enough for one holiday party.

It's been live for a bit and ~1,700 people used it last month, which surprised me since it's not even December yet. Now I want to make it actually good before the holiday rush.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/secret-santa-gift-exchange/id6450675361

Please roast it. What's the most annoying part of running a gift exchange for you? I'm picking what to build next and I'd rather build what people actually want.

🤖 Vibe Coded My ideas kept vanishing, so I built an app to catch them [Beta, iOS 27]

I have a habit of losing my best thoughts. Something pops into my head while walking, cooking or right after a meeting – and by the time I've unlocked the phone, found the right app and started typing, it's gone.

I tried capture apps, but they became one more inbox I had to clean up later. What I actually wanted was simpler: say the thought, and have it land in the app where I'll deal with it anyway.

So I built CatchPost for myself:

  1. Open – Action button, Control Center, Back Tap or Siri. It's listening right away.
  2. Speak – on-device speech recognition writes along and spots dates like "tomorrow at 9 am".
  3. Saved – one tap on Reminders, Things 3, Todoist, OmniFocus, 2Do, Bear, Drafts, Day One, Obsidian or Craft. Or let it send automatically after you stop speaking.

Reminders and Todoist save without leaving CatchPost. The other apps are reached through their official URL schemes, so they open briefly. If your app isn't listed, "Other App" lets you connect anything with a URL scheme.

No account, no server, no tracking. Free during the beta. Requires iOS 27.

It works for me – now I'd like to find out if it works for people who aren't me.

TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/Rb9WmEuc

Website: https://www.hoeferconsulting.de/apps/catchpost/

Tell me where it gets in your way – that's exactly what I want to fix before the App Store release.

🎁 Freemium Flux 2.5.1 - An offline-first expense tracker for iOS with private, on-device financial data

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m an indie iOS developer, and over the past few months, I’ve been improving Flux based on feedback from users and people in this community.

I haven’t just been collecting suggestions. I’ve been using that feedback to decide what to fix, what to redesign, and which features actually matter. My latest updates, Flux 2.5 and 2.5.1, are the result of that ongoing process.

I’m still learning as an indie developer, and I genuinely appreciate the people who took the time to try the app and tell me what could be better.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

Flux is an offline-first expense tracker for iPhone designed for people who want to manage their money without uploading their financial history to a cloud service.

It helps you track expenses, manage budgets, organize multiple wallets, scan receipts, and understand your spending. Your financial data stays on your iPhone, and the app works offline without requiring an account.

B — Better: How is it different?

Flux focuses on privacy and practical everyday money management.

  • Offline-first: No account, cloud sync, or server storing your financial data.
  • Wallet-to-wallet transfers: Move money between cash, bank accounts, and credit cards without counting transfers twice as spending or income.
  • Multi-currency transfers: Support different currencies, exchange rates, and optional transfer fee tracking.
  • Budget and wallet overview: Redesigned cards make balances and net spending easier to understand.
  • CSV and Excel exports: Improved formatting and wallet information for your records.
  • Receipt scanning and spending insights: Tools to reduce manual entry and better understand your finances.

Compared with cloud-based alternatives such as YNAB and Wallet by BudgetBakers, Flux takes a different approach by prioritizing on-device storage and offline use. The trade-off is that it isn’t designed around cloud-based synchronization across multiple devices.

Version 2.5.1 also introduces a redesigned app icon, clearer free-trial information, haptic feedback, and performance improvements.

C — Cost: Pricing and App Store link

Flux is freemium, with optional Premium purchases:

  • Monthly subscription: $2.99/month
  • Annual subscription: $24.99/year, with a 7-day free trial
  • Lifetime purchase: Available as a one-time in-app purchase

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/flux-budget-expense-tracker/id6756208417

I’m the developer, and I’m happy to answer questions or hear constructive feedback. If you’ve tried Flux before, I’d especially love to hear whether the recent changes address the kinds of problems you noticed.

📅 Subscription [Tody] Planning is not doing. Choose 3 tasks and start.

Planning can feel productive.

You write a long list, organize it, set priorities and move things around. But none of that completes the work.

At some point, you just have to start.

That’s why I built Tody around a simple idea:

Less planning. More doing.

A — Answer

Tody asks you to choose only 3 tasks for today and focus on them one at a time.

No endless daily list.
No organizing your entire life.
No spending more time planning than doing.

Just:

Choose 3 → Start one → Finish → Move forward

If you don’t finish something, you can continue it tomorrow or start fresh. The goal isn’t to make you feel guilty about yesterday. It’s to help you take action today.

B — Better

Apps like Todoist, TickTick and Things are great for managing large lists and projects.

Tody is intentionally smaller.

It’s for the moment when you already know you have things to do, but seeing and organizing everything makes it harder to begin.

Tody doesn’t try to manage your whole life. It helps you decide what matters today and start before you overthink it.

C — Cost

The core experience is free to use.

Tody Pro is an optional subscription for $0.99/month. Pricing may vary by region.

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/tody-daily-focus/id6771719898

🎁 Freemium StealthOS v1.5.0: Privacy operating environment for iOS with iPhone Duo foldable support, Tor routing, and encrypted vault

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

We just released version 1.5.0 of StealthOS on the App Store. The main focus of this release is full support for the foldable iPhone Duo, alongside our existing iPhone and iPad virtual desktop environment.

What is StealthOS?

StealthOS is a sandboxed operating environment running inside a single iOS app. It gives you a multi-window desktop interface locked behind your password and the Secure Enclave, containing privacy-focused tools that operate strictly on-device without telemetry or account requirements.

What's New in v1.5.0 (iPhone Duo Support)

  • Hinge Awareness: The desktop detects the hinge boundary on both the cover screen and inner unfolded screen.
  • Window Management: Windows can split neatly at the hinge or span across both screen halves.
  • Fold/Unfold State Continuity: Folding or unfolding your device preserves the active workspace, window positions, and running apps without state loss.

Core Features

  • Stealth Browser & Embedded Tor: Includes an embedded, reproducible Tor client with .onion support, anti-fingerprinting profiles (Canvas, WebGL, Audio, Screen, Fonts), tracking parameter stripping, and DNS over HTTPS.
  • One Route with Kill Switch: All network activity initiated by the app (browser, downloads, domain checks, AI web tools) routes strictly through your selected route (Tor, custom proxy, or a self-hosted relay). If the connection drops, traffic halts immediately to prevent direct IP leaks.
  • Threat Protection: On-device phishing and malicious domain scoring, WHOIS/RDAP verification, and malware checks on downloaded files.
  • Emergency / Duress Password: A secondary password configured at setup. Entering it at the unlock screen immediately purges all encrypted local data and opens a clean, empty environment while permanently disabling biometric unlock.
  • Password Vault & OpenPGP: AES-256-GCM encrypted vault with built-in TOTP authenticator and browser autofill. Full OpenPGP key management (generation, signing, verification, and encryption for Ed25519, Curve25519, and RSA).
  • Connection Pool: End-to-end encrypted messaging, voice calls, and peer-to-peer games. Works off-grid locally over Wi-Fi/Bluetooth without internet access, or remotely through a self-hosted relay.
  • On-Device AI: Runs locally using Apple Intelligence (iOS 26+) for writing, research, and coding tasks without cloud processing.

Pricing and Availability

  • Core App (Free): All core features listed above (desktop, browser with Tor, vault, OpenPGP, connection pool, games, duress lock) are completely free. No account creation, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no ads.
  • Optional Premium: Adds power-user tools including an SSH Terminal, an in-app Arch Linux shell, a live HTTP/HTTPS request inspector (NetMap), and up to 10 device fingerprint profiles.

Links

Feedback, bug reports, and questions about the architecture or iPhone Duo implementation are welcome.

🎁 Freemium Sleep Widget & Tracker - zZz: A clean, friction-free way for insomniacs and poor sleepers to log rest

Thumbnail
gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

A - Answer

I built zZz: Sleep Widget & Tracker, a manual sleep diary for iPhone made for insomniacs and poor sleepers. No sleep stage claims, no microphone, no wearable. You log what happened, correct it later if needed, and see your patterns over time.

B - Better

Most sleep apps either try to measure your sleep with a watch or bury logging behind a dashboard. zZz is a diary, not a lab, and logging takes one tap.

Key features:

- One-tap Lock Screen logging: a widget that follows the night, so you rarely need to open the app. Nothing needs a tap overnight.
- Live Activity: the open night on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- Fix it later: edit any session, or add a whole night from History the next morning.
- Shortcuts and Siri: log by voice.
- Insights: bedtime consistency, averages and trends over time.
- Private: your data stays on your device and in your own iCloud. The App Store label is "Data Not Collected".

C - Cost

Pricing is $9.99 a year. Free tier available. No ads, no bloated features, and no Apple Watch required.

App Store Link: Sleep Widget & Tracker - zZz

About Me: I'm the developer of the app. Please feel free to share your feedback or ideas in the comments below, or reach out to me through  X

🎁 Freemium Building my own task and project management tool

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

I know what was your first thought - one more todo list? And you will be quite right in general.

I started this project almost a year ago when I received a windows laptop from my work. Till that moment I always been an Apple ecosystem user, this is why I used Things 3 for almost 5 or even 6 years, but it's apple only.

I tried a lot of different apps, from big large companies like Todoist or TickTick as well as smaller one. My biggest problem with most of the tools - the are overloaded with features, at some point it feels like you are using Jira like application.

Another problem - built in AI assistants. I love AI and I use it for my software developer job as well as regular life. I already have subscription for Claude and ChatGpt and it feels like paying extra 3-5 dollars for simple built-in assistant is redundant.

I decided to build my own tool, first of all for myself and add some missing features. My main inspiration was Things 3 with their aesthetics, Todois and Superlist.

Added support of attachments, tags and smart projects, calendar view for upcoming tasks and priorities. The biggest challenge for we was finding this balance between amount of features and simplicity.

Instead of adding my own AI assistance I decided to add public api and MCP support. So you can use your AI and connect to the TaskPocket and manage your tasks and integration into your workflow.

Plans for the future:

  • Browser extension - it's ready and currently testing it
  • Android version
  • Mac and Windows desktop apps

I'm also a big believer in data owner ship, so my app has option to export all tasks with all metadata like due dates, deadlines, tags, etc in JSON format. So you can always have your own copy of your data. Also right now I'm working on automatic weekly backups, so you can always have a fresh copy of your data. For free!

Feel free to check, also feel free to share your feedback!

🎈 Free K.O.T. - A social media platform to share story behind the things you own

Thumbnail
apps.apple.com
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
After months of designing, developing, and testing, I finally released my app, K.O.T. (Keeper of Things)!
The idea came to me when I was moving out after graduating from college, and my mom wanted me to get rid of a lot of junk in my room. Although most of the items I owned had no real monetary value, the sentimental value and memories tied to them inspired me to build a platform to share their stories. We all own things that mean something to us, but the stories behind those things often get forgotten.
I wanted to create a place where people could preserve those stories. Whether it be a favorite action figure, vinyl record, or favorite outfit, share your story on K.O.T.
With K.O.T., you can:
Create digital keepsakes with photos and personal stories.
Organize your belongings into collections.
Discover other people's keepsakes and the stories behind them.
Connect with people who share similar interests.
Showcase your collections through a virtual 3D museum.
The app is now available on iPhone through the App Store!
I'm still early in this journey and would genuinely appreciate feedback, especially on the onboarding experience and overall concept.
Just Hit 30 USERS!
A – Answer: What problem does your app solve?
Okay so K.O.T. tackles 3 different key issues
1. Collections are difficult to showcase digitally
People spend years collecting vinyl records, sneakers, watches, memorabilia, and other meaningful objects. Traditional social media reduces these collections to scattered photos and posts.
K.O.T. introduces a personalized 3D Museum where users can display their collections in an immersive, dedicated space.
2. Objects have stories that get lost
A vinyl record might be someone's first purchase. A baseball glove might represent years of memories. Traditional inventory apps document what an object is, not why it matters.
K.O.T. has Keepsakes, Full Stories, and Memory Notes give users a way to preserve the personal significance behind their belongings.
3. Collecting lacks a unified social experience
Collectors are spread across Reddit communities, Instagram accounts, forums, and specialized platforms.
A social experience built around objects and collections, where users can discover collectors, share keepsakes, and connect through common interests is the key purpose of the app.

B – Better: Why is your app better than the top named alternatives? ThingsBook is a true competitor as it is another life documenting app sharing experiences and what not.
K.O.T. is focusing on the stories and the memories surrounding things you own. Most collector apps tend to lean towards discussing monetary value or rarity of certain items but K.O.T. aims to share the stories behind acquiring them or any experiences related to them.
• C – Cost: Pricing, IAP details, and a direct App Store link
K.O.T. is completely free to use! Paid features may be experimented with in the future but the focus is the user’s initial reactions and experience with the app as well making as building a product to that makes users excited to use everyday.

📅 Subscription I built PrettyScreen to customize the Dynamic Island, lock screen, and more

Hi, I'm the developer of PrettyScreen.

I wanted to make it easier to create iPhone wallpapers that feel designed for the device, rather than just putting a photo in the background.

A — Answer

PrettyScreen is an iPhone wallpaper maker that lets you personalize your screen with photo layouts, decorative elements, and wallpapers designed around your iPhone's unique screen shape.

You can decorate the Dynamic Island and notch, customize your lock screen, create matching couple wallpapers, add a monthly calendar, and automate wallpaper changes with iOS Shortcuts.

B — Better

🤖 Vibe Coded ATJV : swipe shows you know, pick between two, and it gives you one show for tonight (iPhone)

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi r/iosapps, I'm Hadrien, solo dev from France dehvs.com ATJV has been on the App Store for three weeks.

A : Answer

ATJV is for the evening where you scroll for half an hour and end up watching nothing. You swipe through shows you already know so it learns what you like, then it puts two of them head to head and you pick the one you'd rather watch. Your tier list builds itself out of those picks. In the evening it gives you one show for tonight, and a line saying why it picked that one.

B : Better

Trakt or Serializd ask you to rate shows or tick episodes. I never knew if a show was a 7 or an 8, but I always know which of two I'd put on tonight, so that's the only question ATJV asks. An ELO rating runs underneath, the same maths chess uses.

It doesn't track episodes and won't. If you used TV Time and kept your CSV export, it reads it and brings your shows over.

C : Cost

Free. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchase, no sign-up. English, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish. iPhone only for now.

📅 Subscription [16.99$ -> Free For 1 Year] Movie Night - movie recommendation app for couples and friend groups

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I'm the solo dev behind Movie Night (mnite for short).

I built the app because my wife and I never knew what to watch - watched everything mainstream and then we spent an hour just browsing all our streaming services...

So what it does:

  • learns your taste as you rate movies
  • recommends movies based on your "taste DNA"
  • gives every movie a score for how likely you BOTH/ALL are to enjoy
  • lets you build watchlists and share them with others
  • reminds you when a movie becomes available to stream
  • you can write reviews and add comments

The premium version is 16.99$/year BUT I'm giving away free seats that let you use the premium features for a year. You can cancel the renewal of the subscription and still use the app.

The reason is simple: it's still a new app, no rating or reviews so if you like it please leave a review in the store. If you hate it, then share it here, I'm looking forward to learn from the feedback!

Check out the iOS app here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mnite-what-to-watch-together/id6765615627

Use this link to redeem the offer: https://apps.apple.com/redeem?ctx=offercodes&id=6765615627&code=REDDIT1YEAR

I want some feedback too, so let me know what y'all think.

📅 Subscription Scrolled: Give Your Feeds An Ending [free lifetime !]

Hi r/iOSApps, I'm Mauro Brito, an independent developer, and I made Scrolled.

Here are my details for the Tier 2 transparency rule:

- Who I am: Mauro Brito, solo dev, ece student at ut.

- Portfolio: maurobrito.me

- Contact: [mauroghhcc2@gmail.com](mailto:mauroghhcc2@gmail.com)

- Website: https://getscrolled.app

- Privacy Policy: https://getscrolled.app/privacy

- Terms of Service: https://getscrolled.app/terms

A – Answer: what problem it solves

The average person is bound to spend almost a third of their life staring at a glass rectangle we call a phone, and short-form video is the main suspect. But the solution isn't to block all short form content as a whole. Short form isn't intrinsically bad. It can be funny, relatable, and genuinly useful sometimes. Whats truly bad is infinite feeds.

Scrolled makes any social media feed you want end after a set number of scrolls. For example, for instagram, you pick how many "scrolls" you want and after you exhaust your allowance the reels tab dissapears until tomorrow. DMs, stories and profiles and all the rest of the functional parts keep working.

It works similarly for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Reddit, X and Facebook.

How it works:

- Each app runs inside Scrolled, signed in to your own account on each site's own login page. There is no Scrolled account nor servers and I collect zero data and EVERYTHING stays on your phone.

- A thin bar at the top shows how many clips you have left today.

- Once the limit you set is reached you get an "All caught up" screen and the feed is blocked until the next day

- The actual apps are blocked using the screen time API. However if you need the real app for something quick, you can unlock it for 1-5 minutes then it becomes blocked again.

Some goodies:

- Toggles for no ads, no sponsored posts, no read reciepts, no story read reciepts, hold to copy caption, account switching, a filtered "who doesn't follow me back" list, and MUCH more.

- Need it stricter? There's hard mode, uninstall protection, adult website blocking + more.

- An option to replace the real apps icon with Scrolled's version so your thumb doesn't keep going to the blocked version.

- Block any other non-social media apps as well.

- Keep your notifications while blocking is on! (this was a challenge to implement)

B – Better: compared with named alternatives

- vs Apple's Screen Time limits: The obvious answer is they're super easy to dismiss. But those lock the whole app when time runs out, so you lose your DMs too and any other functional features of the app you're blocking. Scrolled only targets the root problem and ends the endless feed, and the rest of the app keeps working.

- vs app blockers like one sec or Opal: Similarly, they add friction or lock you out of the app. Scrolled lets you keep using the app and solves the root problem (infinite feeds) by just giving the feeds a bottom.

- vs SocialLite (Most similar) and others: These apps have taken a step in the right direction by not blocking the apps as a whole but still go too far by blocking reels/ shortform as a whole. This is uneccessary as short form is not intrinsically bad, infinite feeds are the problem.

C – Cost

- Free to download, but it needs a subscription (a free trial is available): $7.99 a month, $39.99 a year, or $59.99 once for lifetime.

🎈 Free Proof, The Smart Lift Tracker

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Hi r/iosapps.

I'm a UX designer with a passion, and this is Proof, a workout tracker I've been building on nights and weekends for about 6 months. I'm posting because it's at the point where I need people using it more than I need to keep polishing it with a small group.

The problem. Most workout apps make you do the thinking. You walk up to the bar and scroll back through last week to find what you lifted, then guess whether to go heavier. The other kind buries you in charts and streaks you never look at. And more and more of them push a subscription before you've logged a single set.

What Proof does instead. You log and track a sets with one tap. The app remembers everything, so when you open a lift it already shows what you did last time and what to try today. After every workout it tells you plainly what moved, what held, and what to do next time. That's the whole idea. The rest is in service of it.

Why it's different.

  • It tells you what to lift, not just what you lifted. Every suggestion comes from your own log: your last sets, your rep range, how hard it felt.
  • Records are stamped when you earn them. A heavy warm-up or a one-off doesn't count, and the app says why.
  • It finds patterns in your training and states them as counts, never scores. "Rest seems to help: 9 of 12 lifts after a day off set a record." If the evidence isn't there yet, it says nothing.
  • A body map shows what you've actually trained, and compares the last four weeks with the four before, so a muscle you've been skipping is obvious.
  • Balance puts the week your body had next to the week your log had: steps, active minutes, sleep and lifting on one grid, with one honest word on top. In balance, short on rest, off the plan. Read from Apple Health on your phone, never sent anywhere. Over time it learns things like "your records follow seven hours of sleep," and it only says so once it has the sessions to back it up.
  • It's designed, not templated. One careful thing instead of a hundred half-built ones.

What's in it.

1. Logging

  • One-tap set logging, with a rest timer that runs in the Dynamic Island and on the Lock Screen
  • Progression suggestions on every lift: the weight and reps to try today, from your own log
  • Warm-ups and drop sets, logged as what they are and never counted as records
  • An effort scale after each set, which feeds the next workout's suggestions
  • Records registered as you earn them, with the app saying why
  • Single-arm and single-leg tracking, notes on any lift
  • Every session saved in full, editable later

2. Reading your training

  • Session insights after every workout: what moved, what held, what to do next time
  • Lift insights and lift details: the arc of each lift, your best sets, and one suggestion for next time
  • Progression tuned to your goal: build muscle, get stronger, or stay in shape
  • Progress overview, lift by lift and week by week
  • Body heat map of what you've trained, with a compare of the last four weeks against the four before
  • History with patterns found in your own log, stated as counts ("9 of 12 lifts after a day off set a record")
  • Milestones: first plate, 100th workout, a year with the app, stamped as they happen
  • Balance: steps, sleep, active minutes and lifting on one week grid, from Apple Health

3. Around it

  • Apple Watch app, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Dynamic Island
  • AI routine building, or bring your own; unlimited routines
  • Import from Strong and Hevy, CSV export anytime
  • 500+ exercises with hand-drawn lift illustrations
  • A few skins (to match your tastes)

On price. Proof is 100% free. No account, no subscription, no ads, no "pro" tier hiding the good parts. Your data stays on your phone and exports as a CSV whenever you want it. I'm not trying to make money from it right now. I want to build a base of people who use it and tell me what's wrong with it. If that ever changes, I'll say so here first.

App Store: apps.apple.com/app/id6777612827
Site: getproof.now

Happy to answer anything about how it works or how it was made. And if you try it and something feels off, tell me. That's the part I'm here for.

🎁 Freemium bond: a care log for senior dogs and dogs with chronic conditions (meds, seizures, vet visits)

Post image
2 Upvotes

A. What it does

bond is a care log made specifically for senior dogs and dogs with chronic conditions. It is not a general health tracker for healthy dogs.

  • Log a med with one tap, from the app or a home screen widget. Scheduled doses get reminders. “Only when needed” meds, like a rescue med, never nag you.
  • Log seizures or incidents with structured fields: type, duration, severity and post-ictal behavior (how your dog is after a seizure).
  • A dashboard with 30-day, 90-day and 1-year views, so you can see when incidents took place.
  • Track your medication inventory, so you can avoid running out when the vet is closed.
  • Views for nine conditions: epilepsy, anxiety, allergies, arthritis, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, IVDD and kidney disease.
  • Add a caregiver (partner, family or sitter) so everyone logs to the same record, and track multiple dogs. Both are Plus features.
  • A structured PDF report for vet visits (Plus).

It’s a record-keeping tool: not diagnostic, not an AI product, and not a replacement for your vet. iPhone only for now (Android is on the roadmap, no date). You sign in with Apple.

B. Why I built it, and why it’s better

Two years ago my dog Delon had his first seizure. We spent a couple of weeks hoping it was a one-off. Then came the epilepsy diagnosis, and a combination of meds (phenobarbital, potassium bromide, etc), plus bloodwork, vet visits and a notebook full of dates and durations.

I tried a notes app (lost in the scroll), a spreadsheet (I got bored of updating it) and a group text with my wife (it decayed in a week). Vet visits became a guessing game: what changed, when, and did it help?

I built bond for myself. After about six months of daily use it felt selfish to keep it private, so I widened it from epilepsy to nine conditions.

Alternatives I looked at:

  • RVC Pet Epilepsy Tracker: epilepsy-specific.
  • PetMed: Medication Tracker: supports as-needed schedules and PDF/CSV export. Its page doesn’t mention seizure logging.
  • 11pets: general pet care.

bond is aimed at dogs with a chronic condition, where meds and incidents need to sit in one timeline.

C. Cost

Free to download. The free tier covers everything for one dog: core logging, condition views and 90 days of history. Plus is $2.99/month or $24.99/year (7-day trial on the yearly plan). It adds shared care with a partner or sitter, full history beyond 90 days, the vet report PDF, and multiple dogs.

Transparency

I'm Kaz Hayashi, the developer of bond and several other apps. I started Forager Lab this year to run these projects.

I know bond isn’t for everyone. But if you’re looking after a dog who needs daily care, I hope it’s useful to you the way it has been for me.

🎁 Freemium I made an alarm app that works with you, instead of fighting you

Answer:

You have the same 5AM alarm every day.

You’d like to turn it off tomorrow -> Swipe left to skip.

You’d like to move it to 7AM 2 days from now -> Swipe left to edit and move.

You’d like it to ring quieter or ramp up slower than usual -> Swipe left to edit and change.

You wake up before the alarm rings -> Just dismiss from lock screen.

Without changing the series back afterwards.

You have 3 alarms for morning shifts and 3 other alarms for afternoon shifts but what date you work what shift can change on the fly.

-> Just group them into templates and enable when needed.

You have groups of alarms that start at different times on different dates, gym, prepare for a flight, multiple alarms 1 minute apart, etc.

-> Routine is what you need. All alarms shift according to start time.

Any alarms in templates and routines are modifiable.

You have events in your calendar but notifications are too quiet and cloud push ones cannot reach you when you turn off Internet

-> Calendar automation to set alarms according to events.

Built with AlarmKit so it rings through Silent and DnD. On iOS18, there is no AlarmKit so you’ll need to make sure it can ring via notification.

Adapts to different poses of iPhone Duo, with landscape layout on regular iPhone and iPad.

Better:

While every alarm apps tries to be as annoying as possible, this one tries to stay out of the way as best as possible.

But Challenge Wake can be activated to give your brain just the right amount of boredom and annoyance so you’d rather wake up than going back to bed by asking you to complete a few rounds of sorting challenge.

Cost:

Free users can use 1 routine, 1 template, 1 calendar automation rule, skip any alarm and look ahead 7 days.

I think $2.49/month is a fair price for an app that got a tool to handle a lot of situations. There are also annual sub and lifetime purchase.

Join r/VariAlarm for the latest news and updates.

🎁 Freemium Acolo points a 3D arrow at the Sun, stars, or any place on Earth — on iPhone and Apple Watch

Thumbnail
gallery
16 Upvotes

Answer. Most astronomy apps begin with a map of the sky. I wanted something narrower: choose one thing, then have the phone physically point me toward it. That became Acolo, short for “A Compass in Space.”

Pick the Sun, Moon, a planet, a bright star, a constellation, Earth's Center, or a place on the map. A translucent 3D arrow points there even when the target is behind you or below the horizon. For a faraway place, it takes the direct line through the Earth. “Turn right” and “Tilt up” hints get you moving in the right direction, then haptic taps speed up as you line up and continue while you are on target.

It also shows the distance, degrees above or below the horizon, and a deliberately impractical travel time. The Sun is about 3,400 years away if you insist on walking.

Better. I do not think Acolo replaces Sky Guide or Stellarium Mobile. Those are full planetariums with rich sky maps and much larger catalogs. Acolo is the little one-target instrument I wanted beside them: no chart to read, no camera overlay to line up, just an arrow, direction hints, and haptics.

That narrower idea also goes somewhere a normal sky map does not. You can point at London through the ground, stand virtually on Mars and ask where Jupiter is, or stand at Sirius and point back toward the Sun. The Apple Watch app uses the top edge of the Watch as the pointer, and it can sync the current selection, saved places, and pins with the iPhone through iCloud.

Pointing calculations work offline. Apple Maps is used for map tiles and place search. There is no account or backend, and your location stays on your device.

Cost. Free to download. The Sun, Moon, and Earth's Center are free. Any optional one-time tip unlocks every planet, star, constellation, custom place, and alternate starting point permanently. The US tip choices are $0.99, $2.99, $4.99, $9.99, $19.99, and $99.99; every amount unlocks the same features. There is no subscription.

Requires iOS 26 or later.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6818701360

I also started r/AcoloApp for questions, feedback, and Acolo updates.

I’d especially like to hear whether the one-target approach feels usefully different from a full sky map-and whether its VoiceOver direction cues and haptics might help someone who prefers a simple pointer when finding a place on Earth or locating a planet in the sky. It isn’t turn-by-turn navigation.

💎 Lifetime [$59 > free lifetime] Sprout Diary: Family Journal

For years, bedtime was the same loop. How was school? Fine.

One night I asked three different questions instead.

What did you try today?
What did you learn?
What did you do kind for someone?

Her answers were interesting and I finally started knowing her.

A. What problem does it solve?
Most family journaling apps are built for posting, likes, streaks, curated highlights. Kids start performing instead of reflecting. Sprout Diary is the opposite, a completely private family journal where the only audience is each other. Daily prompts geared toward child development help you track emotional growth over time, not just log events.

B. Why is it better? Everything stays on your device in your own iCloud. No accounts, no tracking, no data leaving the phone. No likes, no feeds, no performance anxiety. Over 20 templates built around developmental stages, from parent-scribe mode for toddlers to shared reflections for teens, photos with captions and comments, multiple family members, and beautifully formatted exports as PDF memory books or photo books.

C. What's the cost?
Normally $59 for a lifetime subscription.
Since we don't have any trust, ratings, etc, I'm offering it free for a limited time.

Free lifetime link
