Do Y’all Think Elijah Brown Is Good Enough to Be Our QB of the Future?

It obviously hasn’t been a big sample size, but do you think Elijah Brown is good enough to potentially be our QB of the future? He threw 3 meatball subs yesterday which isn’t great, but the offense looked more lively with him behind center. Demond is so checked out it’s not even funny anymore, and he’s transferring to a school like Arizona, Boise State, or Colorado next year. I also think a major problem with Demond is that he’s so short I legitimately think he can’t even see over the fucking offensive line.

I think Elijah was decent enough last night, but the dude needs to cut down on the turnovers. I’m rooting for him, he seems like a good dude, but I just don’t know if he is good enough to be our QB of the future. He definitely looks better than Demond out there though, that’s for sure. Shit, I’d take Bryce Underwood over Demond at this point, at least he has the height.

What do y’all think? Do you think he has what it takes to be our QB of the future? If not, who would you like to target through the portal? If we keep the Mississippi State pipeline going (Dillon Johnson, Will Rogers, Kai McClendon), I really hope we can lure KaMario Taylor over. It’s gonna be hard though because he’s from Mississippi, but he’s really fucking good. Braden Atkinson from Oregon State would be a good target too. If we target Atkinson, maybe we can get Jesse Legree too.

Thoughts?

Brown vs Demond

Brown completed 78% of his passes, averaged 11.2 yards per attempt and threw three touchdowns. I believe only two of the three interceptions can be attributed to him. That’s considerably better production than Demond delivered against the similar defenses of WSU or Utah State.

His passing accuracy opened up our run game. When we are consistently hitting receivers on time, opposing linebackers have to respect our pass game and safeties have less freedom to crowd the line like they did in earlier games. Demond’s rushing ability adds a different threat, but it doesn’t force defenders to respect the whole field the way Brown’s passing does.
