I saw one that I liked better. It was a hillbilly looking snake with buckteeth & a MAGA hat that said “Don’t Read To Me”.

He wasn't proven right, he stole the nomenclature. Fake news was coined in response to all of the fake news articles that were being blasted across social media lying in support of Trump and to the detriment of reasonable people back in 2016. He co-opted the phrase, as a fascist does, to bastardize and neuter its meaning.
