Look here if you found a hummingbird that might need your help
I’ve created a troubleshooting tool that walks you through determining if a hummingbird needs your help, and if it does, basic first aid you can provide so that you have time to get the hummingbird to your nearest wildlife center or hummingbird rehabilitator. It is on my mentor’s website, IFoundAHummingbird.com
At the end of nearly every process, there is a list of resources including hummingbird rehabilitators and wildlife centers that either take hummingbirds or will connect you with someone who does.
It covers the most common issues we are called about.
Hummingbirds trapped indoors
Cat Caught
Window Strikes
Sitting at Feeders Too Long
Stuck To A Glue Trap/Sticky or Oily Substance On Feathers
Abandoned Nests or Babies

This little guy is late!
It’s currently 55° in Northern Kentucky and there is a freeze warning issued for tonight. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him arrive a few minutes ago. I’ve had the feeders up and haven’t seen a single bird in over a week until just now. Hope he makes his way south quickly.

These three hummingbirds (juveniles..1 male and 1 female) are still here (NWGA). Everyone else is gone and the migrating ones have passed through.
Edit: 2 males, not 1.
I'm surprised they've stayed this long, but happy.

Chicago suburbs - a few are still passing through
Hello all! I am so glad that the nectar is fresh and the flowers are alive because I saw a hummingbird this morning. I'm in the near south suburbs and my last sighting was October 5.
Sorry for the very poor quality of this photo, but I feel like I need to provide photographic evidence of this surprising sighting. And I'm uncertain how long this visitor will be hanging about to allow me another chance to take a clear shot.

Easy, 2 ingredient DIY hummingbird food recipe (all natural, no dyes)
I just wanted to share this hummingbird food recipe that I learned recently. It has no harmful dyes, and the hummingbirds that visit my yard love it!
- 1/4 cup plain, refined white granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Mix really well in a saucepan over low heat. Allow it to boil, remove from heat, then set it aside to cool before pouring it into your feeders. It needs to be replaced every 4 days.
Edit: I don't understand the downvotes, I was just trying to share something that I found interesting

End my internal debate: should I or should I not use dish soap to wash my hummingbird feeder?
When I do use dish soap I always rinse very thoroughly before refilling but I’ve read that dish soap isn’t actually necessary. What’s the right answer: soap or no soap?
I just want the birds to be happy and healthy :)
