So if you have any specifics that you want to see here please post your ideas so we can compile and consider them when we start setting up the structure of this subreddit.

I need some guidance please help me out !!!

Hi! I'm currently pursuing my MBA in Human Resource Management at Andhra University and preparing for campus placements.

I have a foundation in HR functions such as recruitment, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, performance management and HR documentation. I'm also familiar with MS Excel, basic HR analytics, Power BI and HR reporting.

I'm looking to gain more practical, industry-oriented experience. If possible, could you share a sample HR assignment, an anonymized case study, or a practical task related to recruitment, onboarding or HR analytics that I could work on independently?

I'd be grateful for any guidance or feedback that could help me understand how these tasks are handled in a real corporate environment.

Thank you for your time!

INDIAN HRs.. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi folks! I need some guidance regarding early release from my notice period.

I'm currently serving a 60-day notice period, and my last working day is showing as 30th November. However, my new company has given me a joining date next month, so I want to get released by 30th October. I'm ready to serve 30 days and buy out the remaining 30 days.

The problem is that my manager is upset about my resignation and has already told me to serve the full notice period. HR is also not responding to my requests.

For context, I'm joining another vendor working for the same client, so my client already knew about my move. When my current company asked me to train a replacement, the client informed them that they had already arranged a replacement and the handover wasn't required. Now my company is upset that the client knew about my resignation beforehand.

My company has a notice period buyout clause, but it says the company can waive the notice period at its discretion.

I just want to know what steps I should follow to get an early release. What if my manager refuses? Can HR approve it independently? And what documents should I make sure I get from the company?

Any advice from people who've been in a similar situation would be really helpful. Thanks!

HR Generalist [GA]

Howdy all. I wanted to get some insight on salary for a generalist role? What are you making as a Generalist? I’ll go first. I make 66k no additional incentives to compensation. I have a PHR, bachelors in HRM, and 3 years of work experience. I’ve been seeing job ads for these roles starting at 70/75k.

Burnt out HRBP looking for advice [Spain]

Hi people. Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m so frustrated and for the first time in my life I genuinely don’t know how to handle the situation that I’m facing. Sorry for the long post

I’ve been working for and American company for around 4 years. First started in TA and then moved to and HR management role that has slowly evolved into an HRBP role (although it’s still saturated with operational activities that take around 80% of the time).

For some context: A year ago my boss went on maternity leave for around a year and I had to cover up for her which I did fairly well. I was very excited to step in and work alongside senior leaders, everything was going well, I was very engaged with the company and highly satisfied and motivated with my job. I started working closely with the VP for Europe and I was receiving positive feedback from my job. Towards end of Q4 last year the company entered into a financial constraint which led them to take measures on different fronts to reduce fixed costs. This is when it all starts going downhill.

Around march this year, during the merit review cycle they decided they were not going to offer merit increases for anyone considering the company’s financial situation (negative EBIDTA), followed by a reorganization process that eliminated different roles to reduce people costs. A few months later they started to increase some employees salaries with the excuse of them being valuable talent, which I get, but deep down creates a sentiment of unfairness for all employees.

There’s an increased pressure from my main stakeholder (VP for the region) to step up and cover my bosses’s role following the company’s decision to freeze merit increases. My ex boss came back from maternity leave around march this year and got put on a different role due to her requirement of working part time, which meant from now on I had to take care of everything. At some point this year I just made the promise to myself that I would stop working long hours and going above and beyond for a company that clearly doesn’t care about me. However, the VPs expectation is for me to act as a Director when I’m getting paid half what she was getting paid. This topic has increasingly become challenging to a point where I just don’t enjoy my job anymore and I feel constantly gaslighted by the company and executive leaders.

I wonder if anyone has ever been through something similar. Sometimes I think I’m a victim of a bias when you think everything will be better someplace else, but truly it’s something that comes with the job. I think at this point I’m in a professional crisis that has me questioning everything I’ve ever wanted to. If you had ask me 5 years ago where In wanted to be this is the exact role, but not the exact situation.

It would really help me if someone could share similar stories. When you are going through hard times what keeps you going? How do you cope with frustration without it taking a toll on your mental health?

Part D creditable coverage notices, deadline was Tuesday Oct 14th, still send them if you haven't

Friendly reminder: If you haven't sent your Medicare Part D creditable coverage notices yet, you're technically late but send them today anyway. There's no specific penalty for missing the October 15 deadline and your Medicare-eligible employees still have until December 7 to make Part D decisions, so the notice is still useful to them.

CMS model letters take about 10 minutes: https://www.cms.gov/medicare/employers-plan-sponsors/creditable-coverage/model-notice-letters

Just document when you sent them and put a September reminder on your calendar for next year.

Is the HR job market really this bad, or am I doing something wrong?

I’ve been looking for a permanent HR job for over a year now, and honestly, I’m starting to feel like I’m losing my mind.
I have about four years of HR experience between working for state government and my current contract position with Amazon’s HR department. I’ve done onboarding, recruitment, training and development, employee relations, benefits, and general HR duties. I also have more specialized experience with ADA accommodations, FMLA, leave administration, and return-to-work.
I have a bachelor’s in Sociology and recently finished my master’s in Human Resource Management. I also have a SHRM People Analytics specialty credential, and I’m planning to take my SHRM-CP exam in January.
I’ve been on so many interviews at this point. I’ve made it to the final round multiple times, and somehow I still can’t land anything permanent. It’s honestly exhausting because I feel like I’ve done everything I was supposed to do, but nothing seems to be working.
I live in the South, so I understand salaries aren’t going to be as high as they are in other states. I’d prefer something remote, but I’m definitely willing to relocate for the right opportunity.
I guess what I’m trying to figure out is what exactly am I missing? Is four years of experience not enough? Is having a master’s with only four years of experience working against me? Is not having my SHRM-CP yet hurting my chances? Or is the job market really just this bad?
I’m not expecting to walk into some six-figure HR director position. I just want a decent-paying, stable HR job where I can actually grow.
I’m genuinely curious if anyone else is having this much trouble, especially people who already have HR experience. If you’re a recruiter or hiring manager, I’d love to know what you think about my background and what I could do differently.
At this point, I’m open to any advice because I really don’t know what else to do.

Benefits question!!

I received a job offer for a new role/company. Those benefits start the first day of the first full month following employment which would be December 1 (first day is 11/10). I’m planning to put in my notice at my new job with my last day being 10/30.

If I extend my last day to 11/2, would that give me benefits coverage through the remainder of the month of November with my current job? Located in NJ if that makes a difference.

MA/RI HR Director Looking for Feedback on an HR Intelligence Platform Built for the Situations Nobody Wants - Not looking to sell anything [MA]

Massachusetts / Rhode Island HR professional here.

After more than a decade in HR leadership and over 20 yrs of experience I got tired of running into situations where the answer wasn't obvious especially with alll the continuous change in HR.

  • An employee files an EEOC charge while on workers' comp.
  • A manager sits on an accommodation request for six months.
  • A clinician's license expires and nobody catches it.
  • A client was given the wrong meds.
  • A regulatory agency requests documentation.
  • A key executive retires with 15 years of institutional knowledge and all the relationship.

Most HR systems store information.

Very few help you decide what to do next.

So I built Aurelis.

Aurelis is an HR Intelligence Platform designed to analyze complex workplace situations and provide:

✅ Risk assessments

✅ Immediate actions

✅ Required documentation

✅ Applicable laws and regulations

✅ Reporting deadlines

✅ Regulatory guidance

✅ Investigation support

✅ Workers' compensation guidance

✅ Leave administration guidance

✅ Succession planning support

✅ Executive and board reporting

✅ Behavioral health and accreditation intelligence

Aurelis doesn't just tell you what a law says.

It attempts to answer:

What should I do first?

What am I missing?

Who do I need to notify?

What documents should I gather?

What's the actual risk?

---

Curious?

Try to break it.

Seriously.

Give it:

  • Your weirdest employee relations issue
  • Your nastiest leave case
  • Your most complicated investigation
  • Your ugliest compliance problem
  • Your "I've never seen this before" scenario

I'm looking for honest feedback from HR professionals.

Not compliments.

Not polite feedback.

I want to know:

  • What it got wrong
  • What it missed
  • What it overcomplicated
  • What would actually help you in your role

No confidential employee information required. Use hypothetical or anonymized scenarios only.

If you'd like to participate in testing, have questions or want to see a demonstration, comment below or send me a message.

Aurelis is the HR Assistant you want and the Strategic Partner you need.

Location: Massachusetts / Rhode Island
