I wish that I could get any population on my YT video uploaded here and it’s barely getting any attention to my channel so I’ll do it here instead then….

This never gets old

I am not 100% satisfied with how the baby dragon turned out I had another baby Night Fury OC that was better down I am going to post it too, I just didn’t know how to make it pose that way and because its small it didn’t turn out the way I imagined but here it is.

I got her off eBay. Very cute! I love her wings!

Edit: I apparently did not think this would actually get people interested in reading said fanfic, so here is the link to it

Or a happy spooky month xdd

Okay, it's 11 PM... And I just realized that Hiccup really demonstrated his skill with dragons from the very first second.

The first dragon he encounters is a monstrous nightmare (the one that destroys his door); then he tells us that this is the dragon that only a truly brave Viking can face. Is it a coincidence that the first dragon our protagonist interacts with is precisely that one? (ever)

And not content with that, he outlived him 3 times: the one at the door, the one who chases him through the town, and Fang.

I haven't seen in any content from the franchise (literally, not comics, not series, not movies) that some other Viking has fought a Monstrous Nightmare three times. (And lil broh do it in just one movie 😭)

THEY TOLD US FROM THE VERY FIRST SECOND!

He was the bravest Viking. :')

Just some random new and old Hiccup study sketches I’ve done

wile im still drawing this i would like to ask for name suggestions

note: i dont use mixed names from both dragons for example the "night lights" beeing a mixed name i like to use original names as u saw from my hybrid posts

I feel like it was in HTTYD 2 when Stoick was fighting Drago and he said 'Takes more than a little fire to kill me' and then proceeds to kick the hell out of him.

My monstrous nightmare Dynamite is not very happy with her new room mate, but she'll warm up to him

Here are the dragons I made this time all requested by people: the death song the triple strike the smothering smokebreath the flightmare and the stormcutter please leave suggestions on what dragon I should do next but please read the rules down below

1-no alpha class dragons (they are way to big for me to make at scale with my dragons)

2- no subspecies (except light fury since it's on the wiki page for the classes)

3- no named dragons (toothless meatlug stormfly etc)

4- no rescue riders species (that show is abomination) but nine realms species are fine

5 - these species you can not request: night fury deadly naddder monstrous nightmare hideous zippleback skrill whispering death rumble horn death song triple strike smothering smokebreath flightmare and stormcutter

Those are the rules so please respect them

So I really love the second movie, it is probably my favorite film of all time and I think it get’s a lot more hate than it truly deserves. And a big part of that hate is because of Hiccup’s character and I wanted to talk about why I do still really like him in this film.

The biggest complaint that most people have about Hiccup in this movie, is that he tried to convince Drago to become better, but I don’t mind it. I like it even, because it isn’t as simple as many people make it out to be.

The reason why I still like Hiccup trying to convince Drago is for 2 reasons. One being that Hiccup convincing people of his way of life is litteraly the entire point of his character. And it can work. We see it in this movie with Eret, proof that dragon trappers are indeed capable of change.

And two, Hiccup actually did fight Drago, and only after he saw that fighting wouldn’t work, did he go back to trying to change Drago’s mind.

After Stoick and Valka reunite, Hiccup is talking about what will happen when she returns to Berk.

Hiccup: And once you move back in, with all your dragons, Drago won’t stand a chance. Everything will be okay!

All throughout the movie people have been telling him that Drago was a mad man who couldn’t be reasoned with, but Hiccup did seem to change his mind after both his dad* and *mom said to him that trying to talk to Drago was a bad idea. As showed in this line, he wasn’t as focussed on talking to him anymore.

I do think Hiccup still wanted to talk to him, but I also think he was a lot more willing to fight after both his dad and his mom talked about protecting their own, and about how Drago wasn’t a man he could easily reason with.

But shortly after Hiccup talks about his mother returning to berk, Drago attacks Valka’s nest, and Hiccup takes part in the fighting. And only after Drago’s bewilderbeast killed Valka’s, did Hiccup try and go change his mind about dragons.

The riders had already lost here. Drago now controlled the king of dragons, Hiccup wasn’t going to be able to fight his way out of this and he knew that.

He looked at the situation and chose the best possible solution, because what would happen if he didn’t try and talk to Drago? The bewilderbeast would have taken control of Toothless and the other dragons anyway, and Hiccup along with the others would have most likely been captured and excecuted.

I get why some people don’t like Hiccup’s character in the second film, but I do think that in many cases it is a little unfair considering the circumstances.

People give Hiccup shit about trying to convince Drago during an active battle, but the battle was over. They lost, it was done. Drago was in control of the alpha, and by extension over all dragons. The battle was over and they lost, and Hiccup trying to convince Drago was the best thing he could have done.

If Hiccup kept fighting instead of trying to talk to Drago, nothing would have changed. If Hiccup continued with freeing dragons from traps and attacking the trappers, Drago would have focussed on him anyway. The battle was done.

Stoick and Valka were cornered by the bewilderbeast, the riders were very soon going to lose there dragons to the mind control, and Hiccup trying to convince Drago to do better was the only thing he could have done that could result in him and the other riders stopping Drago. It was the only thing that Hiccup could still try to stop this war and battle.

If you want to critisize Hiccup for thinking he could change Drago’s mind in the first place? Before everything happened? That’s fair, it was pretty naive. But Hiccup still took part in the fighting, and only went back to his original plan as a last resort when the battle was already lost.

I think Hiccup’s character in the second film is overhated and in my perspective, he was naive in the beginning of the film, but he was still prepared to fight against the trappers to protect the dragons. Hiccup did the best job he could considering the circumstances.

Let me know what you think about my opinion and Hiccup’s character in the second movie.

I don't see it brought up much in the community despite the fact the series brings up constantly how Hiccup only has 1 foot and I think it's funny, but we should seriously talk way more about the fact that How to Train Your Dragon is some of the best media with the best representation for disabled people in general. Hiccup has a visible physical disability but it's not something that he's ever EVER shamed or belittled for in any way other than jokes which are actually always in good taste (to my memory), same with Gobber and Gothi just to name a few. No one treats them ANY differently from any of the other vikings and I love it.

One of my favorite things that I've noticed in RTTE specifically is how much Hiccup rides Toothless rather than just walking. Toothless is like a service animal to Hiccup, specifically one that works as a mobility aid, while they're also dependant on each other and Hiccup is kinda the same for him. My absolute favorite thing, though, is how none of the characters are ever shown to really be held back by their disabilities or discriminated in any way and because if that that carries over to the community. I've never seen anyone in this community think any viking or dragon is lesser than another because of any disability at all.

Sorry for any spelling errors I type fast and read over errors when I make them and my stupid spell correct decides not to work. Also I do come at this as a person with invisible disabilities for anyone wondering which idk why you would persay but you know. Anyways, have a great day!

Sorry for the delay guys. I had the worst time ever coloring this guy 😭

Anyways. Copperflame steals your copper. Also does great fire tornados. I like Typhoomerangs ngl strong contender for my second favorite species in httyd.
