ive attempted to utilize the same map mode as "moon invasion" and a seamless 3D globe to address the issue of a realistic moon map.
i even considered concealing the moon beneath the Pacific Ocean, but this would interfere with the animation for switching between Earth and moon maps.
however, im wondering if we should make the moon or Mars an independent GUI gameplay element, and manually design a new map gameplay

The idea for this mod came to me while I was thinking about the pace of technological development and how humanity might be struggling to keep up with its own technology.
Could corporations and other organizations eventually become powerful enough to compete with states, blurring the line between the two? What will artificial intelligence bring? Could humanity create a new global system that doesn’t rely on direct centralized control? And, perhaps most importantly, can humanity even survive the next 100–150 years?
These are some of the questions I want this mod to explore.
The Setting
The story takes place in the late 21st and early 22nd centuries, in an alternate timeline where Nazi Germany and militarist Japan won World War II.
Throughout the 20th century, the world experienced a prolonged Cold War between the United States, Japan, and Germany and their respective blocs.
By the end of the Cold War, the world had changed dramatically.
The United States emerged as the global hegemon. Nazi Germany lost a war, and after several years of anarchy across Europe, a German-Russian Union arose from the ruins of the old order. Drawing on the pseudoscientific ideas of geopolitics, it proclaimed itself the Heartland and became a new superpower.
The Japanese Empire, at least on paper, transformed into a union of equal nations. In practice, however, the zaibatsu corporations came to dominate the system, while the peoples of the former empire gradually lost touch with their cultural identities.
The United States also struggled to maintain its hegemony. Some of its allies lost much of their independence, while others began undermining the alliance in pursuit of their own interests.
Liberal democracies faced another disturbing question: how democratic can a country really be when state and corporate surveillance extends beyond people’s online activity and into their private thoughts?
Many believed this was the end of history. But the problems only continued to grow.
A Civilization Out of Control
By the end of the 21st century, humanity had established itself on the Moon and Mars and made enormous advances in artificial intelligence. Yet despite these achievements, civilization was becoming increasingly difficult to manage.
The world faced a demographic crisis, an expanding digital panopticon, political and social institutions struggling to keep pace with technological progress, and increasingly fragile technological systems on which humanity had come to depend.
Despite this growing fragility, the world now stands on the brink of World War III.
The central question is no longer just one of political crisis or which superpower will prevail. It is whether civilization itself can survive the systems it has created.
And whenever humanity tries to solve one problem, it risks creating several new ones.
What Comes Next?
Will the player be able to create a world without states, where liberal rights and freedoms are still respected? Or will the world descend into dictatorships reminiscent of Orwell’s 1984?
Could humanity cease to exist altogether? Could civilization fragment into anarchy? Or might the future lead somewhere nobody has anticipated?
These are possibilities I want to explore, rather than a set of predetermined conclusions.
For now, this is only an early concept. I’m not planning to recruit a team or begin development yet, although I may pursue the project in the future.

I was adding a texture to my national spirit. It did not work, so i tried to find a fix. I changed a few things up and now there is no icon. Not even the one with the question mark. So the spirit can't be seen in the icon field (or however you want to call it) but it works.

Does anyone know what could be the cause? Thanks in advance.

Everybody I apologize in advance because I feel very dumb but I've been playing Hearts of Iron for for at least 6 to 7 years been playing with mods by far my favorite game I love it my only problem is I cannot find the mod where is the United States being invaded by everybody after they didn't join the war i know the name is Endsieg. But every time I look it up I see mods that only have a few downloads so it can't be the right one anybody have any suggestions or help

Trying to plot out factions and I was curious if it's fine if I use songs from the future for super events.

I don't know shit about moding but I want to change the portraits of some greek generals for personal use. But when I go to gfx leaders GRE I can only see 3 of the countries available leaders not even all of them and none of the generals .... Where can I find them ???

The main mod changes the cosmetic name for the British Raj to include the new overlord's adjetive, in my submod I'm changing the "Raj" name into "Shasan", only the DEF remains the same as the main mod's. Why is it not working? The change I did to Malaya worked just fine.

I should also note that changing the DEF to all caption or a short name like Rex worked in changing it, but "Shasan" or the short "Sha" did nothing. Why is this happening?

On the historical path for Iceland, in March 1939 you will be presented with the Lufthansa deal, like what happened in real life. The German company Lufthansa will offer to build a large airfield in Iceland. Historically, this deal was rejected, but if you accept, you'll get a bunch of bonuses, mainly, it automatically completes a large chunk of the airforce tree for you, instantly giving you the bonuses that come with them.

However, it comes with a risk. If Denmark is attacked and you're still their subject, Germany will get the option to use their air field in Iceland to occupy you. If they do, you'll get a special event.

The German troops invading Iceland will have a standoff with Agnar Koefed-Hansen and his men, the Icelandic police. You can choose what Agnar does. He can back down which will make you a puppet of Germany, but you keep some autonomy and your government. Or you can make him open fire on the Germans. If he does, he and his men will die and the Germans will lose some men. They will also coup your government and make you a complete puppet.

Alternatively, if you reject the Lufthansa deal, the historical thing will happen, the British will invade and demand you join the Allies.

Depending on your choices, different occupation branches will unlock.

The "Bend the Knee" branch will be available if you accept the Lufthansa deal and Agnar stands down. This will be a German collaboration branch.

"Under the Eagle's Boot" will be available if you're occupied by Germany, regardless of what Agnar does. This is a democratic resistance path against Germany.

"Policy of Appeasement" is the historical branch where you choose to cooperate with the British after they invade. It's available regardless what type of government.

"The Fifth Column" is available if Britain invades and you have a right wing government, allowing you to build up fascist resistance to Britain.

And then "Stir Public Unrest" is available both if the Germans or British invade you, and if you have a left-wing government. It allows you to build up communist resistance against your occupier.

Looking to make a gfx mod for hoi4 and I decided to try and make some subideology icons. I made these on my school chromebook so don’t judge and this is also my first attempt

I'm working on changing some states and provinces on the map, and the last tutorial I followed exactly and everything broke so I'm back to square one. So if anyone knows some good tutorials or would like to teach me how to do it that'd be great

This may sound dumb, but like I'm still new to modding hoi4, and I try to make some custom flag for the game, using .tga. I use photopea so that could be on me.

But when I try to load the game, the flag fail to load, and it give the error of 'Unsupported format. Expected 32bpp, uncompressed, no color palette'
