This comic, I was on the fence about. But I have known alcoholics, and know someone being dragged under. I almost fell into that hole myself. There's a voice that sounds like your own. It tells you things you don't want to hear, but and maybe know aren't true. But the voice is your voice, and it always hurts to hear. You can push the voice back, and try to ignore it, but it doesn't seem to go away. I think about that voice when I think about the alcoholics I've met. Each one has a reason to drink. A "reason" that could just as easily be a reason to not drink. Maybe drinking is easier. Coping through substance. I don't know. I'm rambling at this point. Sorry today's comic is such a downer.
