MAG/WAG 2026 Artistic Worlds Coverage and Streaming Hub

I've seen quite a few questions these last few days in multiple threads about coverage for the Artistic World Championships in Rotterdam, so I decided to gather all the info in this post. See the pinned post for the full competition schedule.

Qualifications

Qualifications will be streamed for FREE by Eurovision Sport. You should have access to this worldwide. See all the sessions here.

There will be a feed with commentary in either French or Spanish + one camera per apparatus, without commentary. That's why you see 7 different streams for the same session of men's qualification, for example. Fwiw, Charlotte Laroche from Spotgym did the French commentary last year and it was great. I remember even non-French speakers enjoying it. The Spanish commentary was good too iirc.

Finals

Finals will also be streamed on Eurovision Sport, with commentary in French and English. That being said, your local tv provider may have bought the rights to stream finals. In that case, the Eurovision Sport stream will be geo-blocked. You may be able to access it with a VPN. Replays are usually not geo-blocked on Eurovision Sport.

Below is a summary table of local tv providers streaming finals for different countries. I have added the info I could find in the sub so far (thanks to all the contributers). If you don't see your country and you know who's streaming, please lmk in the comments and I'll update this accordingly.

Country Provider
Belgium Sporza (NL)
Canada CBC
Croatia HRT2
Germany SWR on Youtube + ARD mediathek
Netherlands NOS
Spain RTVE + Teledeporte
UK BBC
USA Peacock and NBCSN, NBC

Live blogs

If you can't watch streams or if you want additional commentary, I expect some if not all of these to provide live blogging (based on previous editions). Comment if you know of more.

WAG Standings After Day 1 of Women's Qualifications

I will list all of who is in position to qualify to the final after day 1 as well as two reserves. The two reserves will be in italics. 2 Per-countried athletes will be omitted in the ranking-but will be mentionewd with an asterisk at the end of each event listing. Personally, I REALLY hope Mexico manages to eek into the Team Final and that Skye Blakely can hit once again and stay in the bars and beam finals. I'd also really love Kaia Tanskanen's floor score to hold up.

VT:

1.) Claire Pease USA (14.283)

2.) Skye Blakely USA (14.066)

3.) Victoria Mata MEX (13.816)

4.) Lisa Vaelen BEL (13.816)

5.) Karina Schoenmaier GER (13.133)

6.) Hoi Yuen Joanne Chen HKG (13.133)

*NO gymnasts got two-per countried today out of the vault final because only 6 gymnasts competed two vaults overall. This also means there are currently no reserve athletes.

UB:

1.) Helen Kevric GER (14.766)

2.) Elisa Iorio ITA (14.466)

3.) Giulia Perotti ITA (14.366)

4.) Skye Blakely USA (14.333)

5.) Claire Pease USA (14.066)

6.) Misa Nishiyama JPN (13.966)

7.) Mana Okamura JPN (13.800)

8.) Lisa Vaelen BEL (13.366)

9.) Lea Marie Quaas (13.166)

10.) Breanna Scott AUS (13.133)

*The two-per-countried athletes were Charleigh Bullock, Rina Kishi, and Sofia Tonelli finishing 8th/9th/10th in Quals respectively but behind two other teammates. July Marano was also 2-per-countried out of being able to be a reserve athlete.

BB:

1.) Mana Okamura JPN (14.266)

2.) Manila Esposito ITA (14.200)

3.) Skye Blakely USA (14.166)

4.) Breanna Scott AUS (13.866)

5.) Giulia Perotti ITA (13.833)

6.) Helen Kevric GER (13.633)

7.) Rina Kishi JPN (13.633)

8.) Dulcy Caylor USA (13.300)

9.) Michelle Pineda MEX (13.233)

10.) Lea Marie Quaas GER (13.200)

*Sofia Tonelli is the only athlete 2-per-countried out of the finals so far.

FX:

1.) Reese Esponda USA (13.633)

2.) Claire Pease USA (13.333)

3.) Manila Esposito ITA (13.233)

4.) Aiko Sugihara JPN (13.100)

5.) Kaia Tanskanen FIN (13.100)

6.) Michelle Pineda MEX (13.066)

7.) Jade Vansteenkiste BEL (12.966)

8.) Lisa Vaelen BEL (12.933)

9.) Sabrina Maneca-Voinea ROU (12.900)

10.) Karina Schoenmaier GER (12.733)

*Skye Blakely is the only athlete two-per-countried out of the final. Charleigh Bullock is also two-per-countried out of being a reserve athlete for the final.

Teams:

NOTE: Only 8 teams have competed, which means all are qualified to the final thus far. It is unlikely some of these scores hold up. Any teams below Germany are in immediate danger of being bumped out.

1.) United States (164.529)

2.) Italy (162.430)

3.) Japan (161.630)

4.) Germany (158.661)

5.) Australia (156.228)

6.) Mexico (153.796)

7.) Belgium (153.128)

8.) Romania (151.996)

AA:

1.) Skye Blakely USA (55.465)

2.) Claire Pease USA (54.432)

3.) Rina Kishi JPN (53.499)

4.) Giulia Perotti ITA (53.032)

5.) Sofia Tonelli ITA (52.700)

6.) Breanna Scott AUS (52.698)

7.) Aiko Sugihara JPN (52.266)

12.) Jade Vansteenkiste BEL (51.032)

13.) Kaia Tanskanen FIN (50.966)

14.) Jazmyn Jimenez MEX (50.365)

15.) Alexia Blanaru ROU (50.132)

16.) Anamaria Mihaescu ROU (49.832)

17.) Emma Leonie Malewski GER (49.598)

18.) Celeste Mordenti LUX (49.265)

19.) Mila Prpic CRO (48.732)

20.) Amanda Yap SGP (48.465)

21.) Naveen Daries RSA (47.532)

22.) Ashley Bohorquez ECA (47.399)

23.) Jun McDonald NZL (46.932)

24.) Caitlin Rooskrantz RSA (46.932)

25.) Hoi Yuen Joanne Chen HKG (46.699)

26.) Daniz Aliyeva AZE (46.031)

*In the AA competition, many athletes got two-per-countried. Charleigh Bullock, July Marano, Misa Nishiyama, Victoria Mata, Mia De Wilde, and Iris Iordache.

Overall, I would say that the top 10 who are in the All Around are likely to make it. Outside of that, with help from some competitors tomorrow, the top 15 in the All Around have a decent chance. Anyone ranked below that is likely out of luck for All Around Finals Prospects. On vault, the top 4 scores are likely to hold up for finals prospects. Places 5 and 6, however, do have the ability to sneak in if there are mistakes. On bars, nothing is guaranteed outside of for Helen Kevric. The top 4 all have the ability to qualify, however. On beam, the top 3-4 scores are likely to hold, but it is possible that with hits or misses, you could subtract or add to those placements. On floor, anyone below rank 3 is in danger of not qualifying. However, given how low scores have been, ranks 4-5 could still make it. Germany is on the bubble, but has a high chance of making it in. Anyone below them, however, has slim prospects.

MAG/WAG WAG Subdivision 1-3 Qualification Eurovision Links

Thought these links might be helpful for anyone else who struggled to find them. I was watching Sub 1-3 videos this morning for a while while the event was live, then had to take a break. I came back later after session 3 had concluded and I couldn't find the videos anywhere on Eurovision. I could see events scheduled for the future, but nothing that had already finished from this World Championships (other than highlights and MAG). Luckily I still had the links open on another device!

WAG Team Finals Math

All teams going in the next subdivision are going to aim for around a 160, which is a 13.333 average across 12 routines. The benchmark for qualification set by a team is Germany, who are right on the bubble of qualifying after all of the subdivisions are complete. Germany had a 158.661 today, for a 13.222 average for each routine. For teams who are not in strong contention for the team final but want to put up a strong result (Malaysia, Algeria, Sweden, etc. etc.) they would hope to at least pass Belgium, and possibly Mexico. Mexico had an excellent day to post a 12.817 average. Most teams in that category will want to aim for around a 13 average, with a 156 team total being a very strong result. The US has been pegged as the team to beat after Day 1, with a 13.71 average and 164. WG2 Russia and China will aim to surpass that with a 165 (13.75 average) being a strong benchmark. The US will also aim for that score in team finals, which they are highly likely to make. Japan and Italy will also aim to improve their scores in team finals, after less than ideal days.

WAG Floor E scores

The current code makes no sense to me. These are the best gymnasts in the world and you're telling me not one of them deserves even a 7.9? Not that they necessarily need to calibrate all of the events to be in the same range but its wild that the current top floor score wouldn't even be top 8 on other events.

WAG Gymcastic BTS Teases 2024 Floor Bronze CAS Update

In today's Worlds Quals WAG Day 1 Gymcastic BTS, Jessica said that she had a conversation with Cecile, who is there with Mexican gymnast Jazmyn Jimenez.

According to Jessica, Cecile said that there is an update in the CAS case but it's not yet public. There was no time line offered for when the announcement will be made, just that we'll have to wait for either Jordan, the Romanians, or CAS to see who makes the announcement first.

WAG Charleigh Eponymous UB Skill?

From Insidegym's IG: "Charleigh Bullock of Team USA has submitted a new element on bars that could potentially become named after her. The skill is a clear pike circle backward with 1½ turn. It would have an E value."

Does anyone know if she's ever competed it? I don't think I follow her on social media, so I don't even think I've seen her train it, but I'd love to see it if anyone can share a link...

WAG Actuals vs. "Realistic Max" - WC Day 1

Inspired by a "what happened to Japan" post, I figured I'd list the comparisons for the Day 1 teams for their actual team scores vs the realistic max analysis.

Notes

  • Mexico had an overall good day. Victoria Mata hit her Rudi vault, which was a new upgrade. Pineda had a great beam routine and Flores had a new personal best international score from this quad, helping Mexico exceed its beam "realistic max."
  • Germany was virtually at its potential on vault, bars, and beam. Its floor rotation featured many mid-7's in execution, but floor may have been more critically evaluated here than at other meets this season.
  • Italy was good on vault and bars and outstanding on beam. Tonelli had a stellar Yurchenko 1.5 and Iorio upgraded to a Y1.5 and should make the uneven bars final. On beam, Esposito and Perotti both had execution scores of over 8.0. Since Tonelli and Perotti both fell on floor, Italy had to count a fall on that event.
  • With Pass nailing her DTY, Australia had a good day on vault. Pass and McDonald also had their best international scores of the quad on beam today. Unfortunately, McDonald had a couple issues on bars and floor, which drove Australia's scores on those events down a bit. Stewart had a miss on floor as well, so Australia had to count McDonald's 11.733 there.
  • The Belgians did well on vault, but had to count two sub-7 E-score routines on beam, which was where they fell most short of their potential.
  • Romania's floor scores held up better than the rest of the teams, but Maneca-Voinea's fall on beam and error on the jump out of the double layout on floor were two major drivers of its shortfall versus its potential. Beam in particular was unfortunately very rough for Romania; despite having a couple of bars D-scores in the low 4's, Romania scored worse on beam than bars due to a few falls.
  • On vault, Japan had to count a FTT due to a DTY fall. On bars, Nishiyama and Kishi were not quite at their cleanest. On beam, Nakamura did not compete in qualifications, Sugihara had a couple major wobbles, and Nishiyama missed her wolf turn. Okamura had a great routine that fell a bit short of her stratospheric score at Asian Games.

MAG/WAG The Gymnasts of Fisherman Colony documentary

A while ago I posted about this documentary.

A quiet rebellion, set in motion

The Gymnasts of Fisherman Colony is an intimate coming-of-age documentary by 3X Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Habiba Nosheen that follows three teenage girls in Pakistan, offering a rare and tender portrait of girlhood, joy, and play told through the eyes of young Pakistani girls navigating the margins of society.

At its core, THE GYMNASTS OF FISHERMAN COLONY is a story of hope and quiet defiance. Through the intimate journeys of three teenagers we witness as their passion for gymnastics begins to clash with deeply rooted expectations around what girls can and cannot do. The film follows their journey as they find themselves straddling two polar opposite worlds as they push to make space for themselves through gymnastics. The result is a lyrical and deeply human portrait of three young girls from a corner of the world we rarely see on screen. These are girls who dare to dream.

It's now about to go on a nationwide theatrical run in the US:

Get along to see it and report back!

"I really felt it wasn't finished after Paris, and I feel right now that it is finished after this one, because I'm really fulfilled with everything I've accomplished, but also with how I've felt internally at every step on the way here, and with enjoying the sport and having everything in it.

"For me, I could go on forever," Wevers continued. "My passion is enough. But sometimes it's a better decision to say: it's enough." - Sanne Wevers

WAG Worlds 2926 - Skye Blakely Prelims Vault Score

Post image
34 Upvotes

I watched Round 1 on Eurovision live stream to the best of my ability. The stream showed current apparatus rankings but not AA rankings so I searched online for this info.

I found the following website for live results: https://www.gymart.org/en/worlds

Skye is currently ranked first in AA after Round 1. However, her vault score shows as 14.000 in the AA results and 14.066 in the VT results (see attached screen shot).

Is this simply a typo, was the score changed, or am I missing something?

WAG US WAG Lineups For QF’ing

Post image
249 Upvotes

According to Scott Bregman on Twitter, Claire, Skye, and Charleigh are doing the AA, Reese is doing VT/UB/FX, and Dulcy is competing on beam.

Knowing this, I have zero complaints on this lineup. Now, I would’ve loved Dulcy to have had the opportunity to make another floor final. However, she’s more of an outside contender, and far away from being a lock by any means. I understand USAG’s reasoning, as it isn’t 100% worth it to give up an AA spot for Dulcy’s floor, and Reese and Claire are more than capable of contending for floor finals with their 6.0+ floor routines!

Lastly, I’m wishing all of the athletes the best of luck tomorrow, I hope Dulcy makes the most of this opportunity, and I’m excited for worlds for the women to start 🥳.

Edit: To add one more thing, this will be Skye’s debut in the AA at a world championships, and I’m absolutely thrilled for her! She deserves this opportunity so much, and I can’t wait to see her floor routine in QF’ing tomorrow :D

MAG/WAG So when is safe sport gonna investigate WOGA and Valeri?

I’m sorry, but we’re beyond the point of this being coincidental. There’s absolutely no reason why a back to back US AA champ should be getting injured at worlds. WHY are parents still sending their kids to Valeri?? I truly don’t understand it. WCC has shown how to correctly pace their gymnasts and they’ve already had so much success in such a short period of time, compared to the other gyms in TX. This has clearly become a pattern and I’m ashamed of the parents who don’t see this.
