After hearing probably 1,000s of hours of this band, I think this is the first time I’ve heard Billy speak from the stage

Idk what they’re talking about with the microphone and the light

Just had my ears and soul blessed! If you get a chance and most likely you can cause the tour is nationwide until thanksgiving go catch Oteil and John Scofield’s Electrospective it’s an absolutely amazing show. To top off the blessing Adam gave me a Drumstick and setlist. The whole group is grooving so smoothly together.

If you partake (or even if you don't!) and appreciate incredible music and outstanding sound quality, I invite you to take this journey through time, space, everything mystical and beyond...🎧

I love all kinds of music; have since I was a kid. There are a very small handful of individual tracks I consider timeless faves. Jerry and David's Arabia is among them. As is Coltrane's Equinox!! (Plug - must listen material!). The crystalline cymbal and chime work by Joe Craven is absolutely mesmerizing, on the MoFi Hi Fi vinyl release, and through good headphones! 🫠

What's the best filler you ever found at the end of a Grateful Dead bootleg cassette?

On one of the Nassau shows I had there was some live Seger - namely "Kathmandu" - that filled the space at the end if the tape. It was ridiculously good. I really wasn't even a Seger fan at the time. I also remember an obscure "Life Without You" by SRV filling space on a tape. I wish I still had those tapes.

Hello everyone and all the love! I'm looking to add to my grateful Dead library and would love to hear any recommendations from you beautiful people. I prefer larger format coffee table style books, but I am open to anything.

Many thanks!

ISO: The Deadhead’s Taping Compendium, Vol. III (1986–1995)

I found Vols. I and II at the Strand while I was in NYC on tour last month, and now I’m hoping to complete the set. My copies still have the previous owner’s notes in them, which I love, so a well-loved or annotated reader copy of Vol. III is totally fine. If you have one you’d consider parting with, DM me a couple photos and what you’d want. I’m hoping to stay around $30-40 shipped, depending on condition. Thanks!

Today, 10-21-1972, the boys (and Donna) played for free at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. My first show, Bertha started it all off. Last free concert outside of the Bay Area. Here's a glimpse of that day, from Deadhead Stories, Vol 2.

Is there consensus around best Cassidy(s)?

Cassidy is a long time favorite of mine, with a lot of personal meaning attached. I've started playing it on harp with a partner or band, using the Reckoning and Without A Net versions as my reference. So, what other versions should I check out? It'd be great if there were some consensus around which ones are best, but all recommendations are welcome.

Thanks

Oh, my god. That was the funniest dysfunctional start to a song I’ve ever heard from this bunch. Love that Donna just cracks up when she and Bobby can’t get in sync. Hilarious. The beauty of live recordings! I love this band

I have been hunting for years for a recording of this show. It was online at one point, and long since disappeared. I have seen other posts of people being aware the soundboard existed, but they too long since lost it. If anyone can point me in the right direction, or has it and would send it to me, I would be eternally grateful. It is as far as I can tell entirely off the internet though.

Hey yall. Can you direct me to some soundcheck rehearsals?

It can be from anywhere. Archive, YouTube, deep corners of the internet. I wanna hear some jams that aren’t live.

Cheers
