POINT 44 RECORDS | SERGEY BOLKOV | AND DENY
π₯ EVERY TRACK HAS A STORY. THIS ONE IS PERSONAL.
With And Deny, Sergey Bolkov isn't just making hardcore. He's expressing feelings that have been with him since childhood. This track has a personal history, rooted in how he experienced the world around him and how he felt society treated him.
Hardcore has always been about resistance, rebellion, and refusing to accept the world as it is. The aggressive vocals in And Deny reflect that attitude. The message? People do whatever they want, then deny responsibility. Look at politics today. Actions without accountability.
Sergey's response is raw and direct: stand up for yourself. Resist the system. Protest, defiance, and denial. If those in power can avoid responsibility, why should the rest of us simply accept the rules? Sometimes you have to fight back.
The music reflects that feeling. Heavy guitars, relentless speed, and aggressive vocals create the atmosphere of standing in the middle of a massive protest, surrounded by thousands of people shouting for change. No compromise. No surrender.
But the roots of this track go back much further than the studio.
When Sergey was around 10 to 12 years old, his school organised a poetry competition. Out of all the poems available, he chose one titled Kwaad, which translates to Angry. The opening line was: I am angry.
That choice was his first expression of the anger he felt towards the world around him. The way he was treated, the behaviour he witnessed, and the fact that society seemed to consider so much negativity perfectly normal.
Looking back, Sergey understands more about himself. His autism and giftedness have helped him make sense of why he has always experienced the world differently. But that understanding hasn't changed his conviction that things need to improve.
For Sergey, And Deny is an extension of a feeling that has been there since childhood. It's about standing up for yourself, challenging what you believe is wrong, and refusing to accept injustice simply because society tells you to.
Because sometimes, doing things the right way isn't enough. And when peaceful resistance gets you nowhere, the fight for change continues.
THIS ISN'T JUST A TRACK. IT'S A PERSONAL STATEMENT.
AND DENY.
