… from an invading pigeon who came in through the bathroom window. RIP pigeon. Surely this isn’t what you imagined would happen.

Happy gotcha day to Francine!! Getting Fran has been the best, most spontaneous decision of my life. She was one day from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter, being looking over due to her shyness with strangers. Now she’s blossomed and has fun at doggy daycare, parks, and even hangs out with strangers when we have company over hahah. Take a chance on a little black doggy :)

I adopted Max at the end of 2020 after having to put down my old yellow Lab mix unexpectedly. He was the last big dog at the shelter. He was the victim of divorce. The couple had two dogs. They dumped Max at the shelter. It turned out to be a blessing for him, though. He's got anxiety and some quirks that you just have to deal with. When I first got him, he was super timid. Every noise scared him. I was told he was good with cats. He was not. He snarled my cat into a corner. I let my cat have a room for escape, and we worked on that. He still hates car rides. He gets really nervous any time we get in the car. It's been six years. It took him 5 months to settle into his new place. I won't get into details of all we went through and all of his issues. But, I cried at night for a few months because I was considering returning him. The thing that stopped me is I knew no one else would want him. I didn't want anything else bad to happen to him. We went to the dog trainer, and I also got lots of help from YouTube videos. I'm thankful I didn't return him. He's such a sweet dog. It's been great to see his confidence grow through the years. He just wants to be near me and be loved. Two things I'm happy to do for him.
