To help stock their pantry, I am hosting a $1 Yard Sale today. 100% of all sales will go directly toward purchasing food and supplies for the shelter pets.
Available items include vintage clothing, mostly women's pieces, women's plus size clothing, vintage puzzles, home goods and decor, and tons more.
Everything is priced at just $1, so come grab a
deal and support our local shelter animals!

My partner and I are hoping to buy our first house together in Flint and we're looking for a queer-friendly realtor. Any recommendations? Thank you!

The first proposal on your ballot this year asks if you want to hold a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con). This comes up automatically every 16 years, and if you're not familiar with the issue it's something I'd like to share more information about.
In a press conference held at the Flint Farmer’s Market earlier this month, officials from the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA), North Flint Neighborhood Action Council, Flint & Genesee Chamber, the Greater Flint AFL-CIO Labor Council, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, and the Michigan Education Association gathered to urge Flint residents to VOTE NO on Proposal 1 in November.
A Con-Con could endanger all of the hard-won changes we’ve made to the constitution over the years, and even remove our right to make those changes to the constitution. It would be an expensive, lengthy process that’s estimated to cost at least $80M in taxpayer dollars.
It’s pretty amazing to see the bipartisan group of organizations who all agree that this is a bad idea. We don’t agree on a lot of things, but this is definitely one of them.
Curious what this community thinks.
Are you planning to vote no on proposal 1?

Bring a bag and fill it up. Large trash bags welcome. Coats and boots tend to go quickly, so arrive early if you need those items. Blankets also available, but are gone quickly.

I'm looking for a music videographer in the Flint, Michigan area who can shoot vertical, short-form hip-hop content. Hit me up!
hey flint town. sorry if this post is not allowed.
so. i did therapy in my teens in this area and had good luck at GHS, but aged out of the system and so i can't go back there now.
i also had a great therapist in adulthood who retired.
since then, i've gone to two more that i ended up quitting due to not being able to feel enough trust with them. i am wondering if anyone from around here has recommendations for therapists in the flint or surrounding area, best places to go/places to avoid and why.
. . .
also, do you think it's better to go to a private practice, a group company, or the therapy/psych depts associated w/ one of the local hospitals? if you have any opinions on that i am open to them.
thank you.

In case you missed the August event, you have another opportunity to shop (mostly) vintage this Sunday. The Flint Vintage Flea Market will take place 10/11 from 11am-6pm at Factory Two in downtown Flint.
Come spend a rainy day inside listening to good music and shopping local vendors. If you don’t have anyone to come with, come anyways! Lots of people shop solo and this is also a great opportunity to meet and connect with people in the area (or you can avoid them entirely! That’s cool too). You might find pieces to inspire or complete your Halloween costume, you could score a unique gift for someone in your life, or treat yourself to something just because.
And - if you’ve never been to Factory Two, it’s our local makerspace and a total hidden gem in Flint. We are BEYOND lucky to have this space in our city, so whether you come our not, go learn more about what Factory Two offers!
Hope to see you Sunday! (Ps I’m not the organizer, so I can’t answer questions about the event)

Flint township DDA paid for flyers that went out in the mail. They are clearly using public funds to pay for political advertising to make people vote in favor of the name change...
This doesn't sit right with me at all. Is this worth reporting to a higher power?

Got clothes you're done with? Clean em and bring them in!
Stitch & Switch is a free clothing swap at Factory Two. Drop off whatever clean clothes you're not wearing and they go to the floor, free to whoever wants it. Walk out with something new to you.
Find something you love, but isn't just right? We'll have Seamstress/Seamsters and tailors on hand for basic alterations. They'll resize, mend, and embellish not ticket prices, but donation. If something almost fits or just needs a little love, they've got you.
Nothing sold. Nothing wasted. Just clothes finding people who'll actually wear them.

I grew up right by Kearsley park. I left at the end of 2016, along with some of my family. Finally I was able to make my way back over the past few days. Though I’m back in Nashville now, the memories just hit me strong while I was there. It just felt surreal and I couldn’t believe I was there again. It was so nice.
Of course pictured here, I visited Kearsley Park and the 2 main malls now which are pretty bare. But I sure remember being a kid in the early 00s when Courtland was still busy. And of course stopped by Dort Mall. I finally visited Pete Flander’s Musical Memories. My dad frequented there over the years before he passed. I bought some of my first Pink Floyd CDs from there as well in the mid 00s when I was in HS.
I ate at Halo Burger. And Starlite too. Seeing remaining family there was also nice of course but I definitely plan to return soon!
Just putting the word out there in case anyone is planning to attend the Abdul rally today.
The College Republicans at U of M are (or were) planning to organize a caravan of literal paid protestors. Be mindful of who you engage with as these influencers love to cause a scene, but enjoy the rally! And go Abdul!
