10/14/2026: Multiple strays roaming the area and reside at this address given. These dogs almost attacked her.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/16/2026: was in the back of the kennel with a tensed body, i baby talked him and he sniffed my hand. he had whale eyes. i tried to leash him and he avoid the leash. Once i got him leashed he began to thrash and show himself at the wall. I let him calm down, and did a loose muzzle and carried him to a clean kennel. he didn’t take treats

🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/14/2026: Weighed 56.0 lbs. Intact male. AEO noted heavy limp, but dog was tranq’d upon arrival and unable to examine. Back left hip noted. Dart site: Front right shoulder. Heartworm test: High Positive. Received DA2PP-V, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, dewormer, pyrantel, and Advantage Multi.

10/15/2026: Weighed 51.8 lbs. S/O: mild favoring RF. A: ddx RF soft tissue injury. P: rx rimidyl 100mg sid x 10. Carprofen administered.

10/4/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, soft eyes, and a soft wagging tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/5/2026: Easy leash him up, walks with me taking soft treats. wagging his tail with the baby talk. he potty in the grass of the outside runs so his kennel is very clean

10/9/2026: Kevin greeted at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, soft eyes, and a soft wagging tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/13/2026: In the afternoon, Kevin was very calm in his kennel and was relaxing on his cot when I was walking around in row. He stood up to greet me with a neutral body and eyes, fast wagging tail, and ears up. I offered him some treats and he ate them quickly.

10/16/2026: Weighed 46.0 lbs. ACT brought in dog to SouthD for hacking and clear nasal discharge. Will start URI protocol. Diagnosed with CIRDC. Plan to move to treatment room and initiate treatment. Prescribed Doxycycline 200mg once daily for 10 days. Received DA2PP-V vaccine.

10/16/2026: In kennel standing at the front with neutral face and body. I opened the door and was able to place the leash but dog then froze and started to shake and maintained low head. I had to get behind her and scoot her out and slowly guide her to her next kennel.

🚑 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/14/2026: Weighed 68.2 lbs. Intake condition minor. Received DA2PP-V vaccine.

10/15/2026: Weighed 68.2 lbs. Severe ocular discharge and bilateral ocular discharge noted. Seen by vet. Both lower eyelids have entropion with green ocular discharge. Diagnosed with bilateral lower lid entropion. Prescribed Gentocin eye drops in both eyes twice daily for 14 ays. Needs corrective surgery on both eyes. Heartworm test: Negative. Received Bordetella and Rabies vaccines, dewormer, pyrantel, and Advantage Multi.

10/6/2026: dog loose near school - Not the bite case dog

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/10/2026: Kelly was laying on her bed when approached she presented neutral body, erect ears and tucked paws. I walked in and leash and she slowly got up and slowly walked out. She then refused to move and I was not able to walk her outside. Appears to be timid.

10/11/2026: 12:27 Pancaked down on her bed, trembling. Once leashed walked with tight leash behind me out to runs. In run was tense, sitting and didn’t move from where I unleashed her. She came up to me with low wagging tail when I returned for her and followed close behind me back inside and into kennel, went to her bed and laid back down, flat.

10/12/2026: 11:38 Kelly had lifted up the drain cover overnight, but the divider was still closed. Was lying curled on her bed trembling when I approached. Walked with semi-loose leash behind me out to runs and back inside. Curled up on her cleaned bed once back in.

10/13/2026: Passing kennel, Kelly was curled up on her bed. Entering kennel she sat up and licked my hand with a soft face, and ears back then gently took a treat from my hand.

10/14/2026: Kelly was laying on bedding as I approached her kennel. She had soft squinty eyes as I slowly came into kennel to leash her up. Once leashed she slowly got up and walked out behind me. She walked out on a loose leash outside. I did noticed once she was placed outside she would cry and paw at the kennel door. Once I came back for her she greeted me loosely and walked back to kennel.

10/16/2026: 7:12 Kelly opened the divider overnight, flipped over the drain cover and was on the opposite side kennel. Fortunately other kennel was empty. Moved to eval due to being able to lift divider.

9/30/2026: up to 9 dogs neglected in the back yard, 2 adult dogs and the rest puppies, no food no water and dogs look malnourished

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/1/2026: At the front of the kennel low growling, foward barking, i slowly open the kennel and leash her. She was foward on the leash avoiding me. Outside she walked nex to me sniff my hand and then would move away.

10/2/2026: Aproaching kennel she low growls, once i open the kennel she slowly come foward and im able to leash her. She walks out the kennel with a neutral body, followed me into the runs. When bringing her inside she has a loose body.

10/4/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel with relaxed, soft eyes, and a soft wagging tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/5/2026: Adorable, very sweet, easy leash her up, she loves the caresses, wagging tail with the baby talk, wiggly body and takes treats with soft mouth, potty in the outside runs. very relax in the kennel.

10/7/2026: Makala was calm and quiet in her kennel during am feeding and cleaning. as i approached she greeted me by her kennel door with a relaxed body, low slow wagging tail and soft smiling mouth. walked on a loose leash heading in and out of south. noticed she will begin to dig at her kennel divider. tossed treats but she would go right back to digging. will give pig ear and see if that will stop the digging.

10/8/2026: Makala was a little vocal in her kennel during am feeding and cleaning. as i approached she presented a relaxed body, mid wagging tail and soft smiling mouth. walked on a loose leash heading in and out of south.

10/9/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel with a loose relaxed body, soft eyes, and loose wagging tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/10/2026: wagging tail, relaxed body, takes treats walks on a loose leash. quiet in kennel.

10/11/2026: Ms. Makala will have relaxed body, wagging tail. She was easy to leash, walked on a loose leash to the runs , notice when bring her back she was Simi-pulling on the leash.

10/12/2026: Ms. Makala would at times become vocal when walking other dogs by. She would be at the front of her door ready to go out. She was easy to and walked on a Simi-lose leash to and from runs.

10/13/2026: During morning walks, Makala was consistently forward barking at me and some dogs that pass by her kennel. She greeted me with worried eyes, neutral body, and low wagging tail and was leashed easily. Makala was walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs.

10/14/2026: Approaching kennel, Makala comes to me with low hanging tail and neutral body as I babytalk to her. Pulled on the way to and from the runs taking treats only after entering a kennel or run.

10/15/2026: 10/15/26 12:13 Approaching kennel to feed, held tail tucked, hackles raised, deep growling. Retreated to her bed and sat down lip licking when I entered kennel. Forward alarm barking at other dogs walking in front of kennel For walk held wagging tail and semi-tight leash ahead of me out to runs and back. Once back in kennel covered her with sheet, caught her growling at the dog behind her at the corner of her divider at the back of kennel.

9/30/2026: Weighed 39.2 lbs. Normal exam. Received DA2PP-V vaccine.

9/28 Stray - Field | Staffordshire Mix | Gray/White | Male (Intact) | 9 Months | 39.4 lbs | HW Negative

📝 Shelter Notes:

9/28: Zac was brought to BARC following a report of a pack of five loose dogs charging at a pedestrian.

9/29: Zac approached staff with a wagging tail and lowered ears. Once leashed, he followed staff as they spoke gently to him, keeping his body low and tail wagging quickly. He occasionally stopped in his tracks on the way to and from the runs.

10/3: Zac greeted staff with a low-wagging tail. He allowed himself to be leashed and walked outside, occasionally freezing in place. Staff were able to encourage him to continue walking by speaking gently to him.

10/4: Zac was moved to the adoption area and spent time playing with his sibling in the outdoor runs. He was very playful, running around with bursts of energy. However, once leashed, he became resistant to walking. When staff tugged on the leash, he thrashed around briefly, crouched low to the ground and sometimes bit at the leash. He ignored treats and continued freezing during his walk to South.

10/5: Zac greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a loose body, low-wagging tail and soft, closed mouth while they spoke gently to him. He slowly walked outside, maintaining a loose body and low-wagging tail. Staff noted that he had been calm and quiet in his kennel.

10/6: Zac greeted staff with a loose body, wagging tail and soft, neutral ears. He slowly walked out of his kennel and followed a trail of treats. He was subsequently removed from the adoption evaluation.

🩺 Medical Notes:

9/28: Zac weighed approximately 39.4 lbs at intake. Staff noted thinning hair and areas of hair loss along his lower body and back. His skin scraping was NEGATIVE, and dermatitis possibly related to flea allergies was suspected. He received Advantage Multi flea prevention, routine vaccinations and deworming. His heartworm test was NEGATIVE.

9/28: Staff documented dermatitis along Zac's back. He was noted to be an intact male.

10/12: Zac developed respiratory symptoms, including sneezing, coughing and nasal discharge. He was diagnosed with suspected canine infectious respiratory disease (CIRD) and moved to the treatment room. He was prescribed doxycycline 150 mg once daily for 10 days.

Zac needs veterinary follow-up for his respiratory illness and skin condition.

💖 Zac is just a 9-month-old puppy who is trying to make sense of a very scary world. This sweet boy has shown staff his gentle side with soft eyes, a wagging tail and a willingness to follow when spoken to kindly. He has also shown his playful puppy personality, happily running around the yard with his sibling! Unfortunately, Zac becomes frightened and overwhelmed during leash walks, sometimes freezing or crouching to the ground when he doesn't understand what is being asked of him. His behavior suggests a young dog who needs patience, reassurance and positive experiences to build his confidence. Now battling a respiratory illness, Zac desperately needs a loving, patient foster or adopter who can help him feel safe and continue learning. He is still just a baby with his whole life ahead of him. Please don't let his story end before it has truly begun. 💙

10/9/2026: Citizen states he is a wheelchair user and there is a pitbull on his property and he cannot leave his home because it is roaming the street and he is scared of it.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

10/11/2026: leashed easily walked on a loose leash to the runs. high flagging tail. when coming back to retrieve began to run away had to ask another act to help in catching. walked into kennel with no issues.

10/12/2026: leashed as dog exited, walked on loose leash into runs. ran to opposite side to relieve herself. when coming back to retrieve she is at back of kennel ran away from me initially but was able to approach slowly. when i got close she lowered herself, tucked tail and whale eyes. i leashed and she followed me back into kennel with no issues.

10/13/2026: Lance was a Move Adopt this morning and was walked on a semi-loose leash to his new kennel in South C. Throughout the morning, he was non-stop husky crying in front of his kennel and continued the action when I offered treats and a Nyla Bone. Once his kennel was covered he stopped completely. Made into Adopt Eval.

10/14/2026: Approaching kennel, Lance had dragged in previous kennel cover as well as kept vocalizing and heavy panting until retrieving him. Kept doing the same thing as well as jumping up on kennel door to attempt to escape but wouldn’t reach the top of kennel due to height. Gave extra enrichment and would remain curled up in bed when the rest of the row was quiet.

10/15/2026: 12:02 Lance escaped his kennel overnight, had ripped an outlet from the wall and also pulled off and chewed up the safety cover. Once back in kennel was nonstop wailing and jumping against kennel door throughout cleaning. When left out in the run was trying to escape out the back by squeezing between the fence posts. Once back in kennel was on hind legs with front paws spread out on the kennel door, jumping up and screaming, husky “talking”

10/9/2026: Weighed 47.0 lbs. Dermatitis noted with erythemic areas on forepaws. Heartworm test: High Positive (HW++). Dark dermal irritation and hair thinning on forepaws. Prescribed Rimadyl 75mg SID x 7 days.

10/9/2026: Received DA2PP-V, Bordetella, dewormer, Rabies vaccine, heartworm testing, Advantage Multi, and Carprofen 75.

9/25/2026: Astro was placed in outdoor run as a move adopt in the morning. greeted me by his kennel door with a relaxed body, slow wagging tail and soft smiling mouth. walked on a loose leash and entered kennel with no issues.

10/7/2026: Astro was calm and quiet in kennel during am feeding and cleaning. as i approached he was laying by his kennel door and he slowly got up and i was able to leash with no issues. he walked on a loose leash heading and out of south and entered and exited his kennels with no issues.

10/9/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, soft eyes, and a soft wagging tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel. Very sweet loves attention

10/13/2026: While in the runs, Astro was low growling and giving a hard stare at the dog next to him in the run. On his way out, he started to bark and bare teeth towards the other dog through the fence. Astro ignored the treats and continued the behavior on his way back to his kennel when he saw another dogs and started to pull towards them. Made into Adopt Eval.

10/14/2026: Approaching kennel, Astro comes to me with fast tail wag and back ears as I babytalk to him. Pulled on the way out to the runs and back taking treats half of the time. Kept kennel covered due to forward barking at other dogs passing by.

9/30/2026: TIMID, NOT LEASH TRAINED

10/2/2026: 10/02/26 14:45 Lowered head and body, timid but walked slowly on the leash when going out, hesitant. loose leash coming back inside and into kennel.

10/3/2026: Move adopt this morning, quiet in runs walked towards me as I approached. easy to leash and walked on a loose leash.

10/4/2026: Tank greets me at the kennel door with a fast wagging tail and heavy panting. He let me leash him and walked simi loosly to and from the potty yard. Inside his kennel he can be seen laying by the kennel door quietly unless he sees or hears someone enter the section where he will get up and greet them in the manner he greeted me this morning.

10/5/2026: Jumping onto kennel door, vocal, once leashed pulling on leash and jumping.

10/6/2026: Approaching the kennel, Tank was pacing around in front of the kennel gate with open mouth smile, ears up, forward body, and fast wagging tail. Once I walked into his kennel, he tried pushing past me to escape but was redirected with treats then leash afterwards. Tank was walked on a tight leash due to forward pulling on the leash and in multiple directions, and jumping around on the leash as well along with whining. He was also resistent with going in and out of his kennel by pulling on the leash.

10/8/2026: Keeps kennel clean, quiet, relaxed body and wagging tail. Walks on a loose leash, follows treat trail.

10/11/2026: Approaching the kennel, Tank was laying down on his cot and stood up to greet me with a fast wagging tail, ears up, open mouth smile, dilated eyes, and forward body. He rushed out of his kennel when a volunteer opened his kennel to walk him. Once leashed, he was forward pulling on the leash and in multiple directions as the volunteer was trying to walk him outside to the courtyard.

10/12/2026: Jumping onto door, vocal, once leashed walked outside with tight leash sniffing treats

10/13/2026: Tank greeted at the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, soft wagging tail, and soft eyes. Easily leashed and walked to the runs with a semi loose leash. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/14/2026: this morning, he was growling and showing teeth all throughout my morning cleaning. Walked on a tight leash, jumping ignoring treats.

10/15/2026: Laying in be as I approach, walked to door with a relaxed body and wagging tail. Walks on a semi loose leash. When back in kennel he was growling and showing teeth as he heard dogs walking by

10/4/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel with a relaxed, soft eyes, and a relaxed tail. Easily leashed and walked with a loose leash outside to the runs. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

10/7/2026: Bongo was a little vocal in kennel during am feeding and cleaning but quieted down after eating. greeted me by his kennel door with a wiggly body, mid wagging tail and soft open mouth. once leashed he maintained a loose leash heading in and out of south and entered and exited kennels with no issues.

10/12/2026: Mr. Bongo can become vocal in kennel as you are walking dogs out. Will come to the door with a wiggly body, wagging tail and open mouth. Was easy to leash and walked on a lose leash at time would go in different direction.

10/13/2026: Approaching the kennel, Bongo was very friendly and welcoming towards me and presented with a open mouth smile, fast wagging tail, ears up, loose body, and soft eyes. He was walked on a loose leash and energetic towards me as we walked to and from the outside runs. While back in his kennel, Bongo would vocalize towards some dogs as they pass by his kennel but for most of the day he was quiet and calm.

10/14/2026: Approaching kennel, Bongo comes to me with wagging tail and neutral body as I babytalk to him. Dog held a loose leash on the way to and from the kennel but once placed back, would forward bark at dogs passing by ignoring treats being tossed over. Covered kennel door and gave extra enrichment.

10/15/2026: 10/15/26 12:10 Focused on other dogs and would not redirect, forward barking and screaming, pacing jumping at the front of kennel whenever another dog passed in front of his kennel during cleaning.

8/18/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the kennel barking and feet on the door. Relaxed body, open mouth with tongue out, fast wagging tail, and soft eyes. Easily leashed, immediately pulled, but relaxed after a few seconds, and walked with as semi loose leash outside to the runs. Cried anytime I left the area. Easily leashed but was difficult to return to kennel as she trys to shove past you to get out of the kennel.

8/22/2026: Opted in for heartworm treatment. Received HeartPlus.

8/24/2026: Weighed 53.2 lbs. HSN noted dog had a friable uterus. HSN recommended 7 days of Carprofen. Spayed, microchipped, and given E-collar.

8/26/2026: Weighed 53.2 lbs. Thick green nasal discharge and coughing. Diagnosed with CIRDC. Moved to treatment room and prescribed Doxycycline 250mg once daily for 10 days.

9/1/2026: Weighed 50.6 lbs. Adopter came back concerned about K9 coughing more frequently and vomiting twice today. K9 is BAR/hyper. Vet staff examined K9. RX: Cerenia 2.3 SQ + extend Doxy 250mg once daily for 5 days.

10/14/2026: Weighed 43.0 lbs. Normal exam. Received DA2PP-V vaccine, dewormer, and Advantage Multi.

10/10/2026: Approached her while asleep, woke up with wagging tail allowed me to leash and walked with a loose leash on, no pulling. Was not tall enough to jump into the kennel but stood on two legs to try and get in. Friendly Nature

10/12/2026: Walked on a foward leash, loose body, had a low and slow wagging tail. When walking outside she was sniffing around outside.

10/13/2026: Dog greeted at the front of the run with a relaxed body, soft wagging tail, and soft eyes. Easily leashed and walked to the runs with a semi loose leash to her new kennel.

10/16/2026: Weighed 64.0 lbs. ACT noticed the dog had green discharge and was hacking. Will move to treatment to start URI protocol. Diagnosed with CIRDC. Plan to move to treatment room and initiate treatment. Prescribed Doxycycline 300mg once daily for 10 days.
