Walker Lyons

Not a fan of BYU but it was nice seeing a former Trojan catch the leading TD to beat ND in a year where we can’t play them. You love to see it.

Glad we didn’t play this week lol. Beat the Badgers! Fight on!

Football 🏈 Ohio State and Indiana are beatable. SC can win those games

Watching the game today, I did not think they that far above SC in level of play. If we win one of those games and sweep the rest of the schedule we are going to the CFP

Fight On! ✌️ Chesney’s UCLA’s defense year one is way better than Riley’s defense year five

It’s not even close. There is ZERO excuse for this lame of a defense. I would like to hear your excuses for Riley’s incompetence considering what Chesney did year one. Fire Riley.

Ranking on Monday?

Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Missouri, and either BYU or Norte Dame will have lost this weekend. They were all ranked ahead of USC.

Any predictions on where that will put USC on Monday when the new rankings come out?

Also, while Ohio State beat Indiana, they lost Sayin for “several weeks”. Does this improve our odds when we play them on Halloween?

Keenyi Pepe

Does anyone know what happened to Keenyi Pepe? I do not see him on any depth chart. Is he even on the team? All these freshmen are playing and he was top of the class

Football 🏈 Hate watching this weekend

Who else is looking forward to a nice weekend of hate watching? I know I am!
I would love nothing more than to see UCLA an ND loose big this weekend, especially ND with their cupcake schedule. I’ll be rooting for the Cougs and the Badgers this weekend. Can’t wait!

Volleyball coach (Brad Keller)

Does anyone know what the deal is??? I always thought Brad was adored by his team, nothing seemed sus. But obviously early this month the social posts by the official team accounts were odd, as were the amount of comments and shares, likes etc (esp on Oct 8) w/new coaches despite the announcements 5th and how he wasn't at games since Illinois.

Does anyone know anything? Coach Brad brought the team so far since he started. It no longer seems like it's not just a simple personal leave of absence but something final... the posts and hiring, likes/comments don't make sense otherwise. I hope he's alright and I really hope he wasn't fired for performance when he's done so well in past years

Wisco vs UCLA is big

Sitting in my cubicle, dreaming about Trojan CFP birth (ha, I know, ridiculous)

But I’m starting to think that a Wisconsin win this weekend would be massive for USC.

  1. If UW wins, they would be ranked. That would give us a chance at a ranked, away win the following week against a beatable opponent. Big for national profile and voter sentiment.

  2. If it turns out that UCLA loses and USC wins vs Wisconsin, that’s a very important common opponent victory for us to even out the Oregon common opponent advantage that UCLA currently has.

  3. We need UCLA to have one loss before the head to head. Our only shot at CFP is to win out, with one loss against IU or OSU. If we go into UCLA with 2 losses, and they have 1 loss, it could become a play-in game for the CFP.

I’m aware this is far-fetched, idealistic, way-too-optimistic, but regardless, I’ll be cheering for Bucky this Saturday!

Discussion From the CFB community on Reddit: [On3] NEW: Oregon head coach Dan Lanning says DL Bear Alexander will not face any punishment for his play on QB Nico Iamaleava. Lanning said it was a “ball shot.” He added Alexander “feels bad about it.”

USC had 3.88 pts per drive against PSU, the most PSU has allowed in Beaver Stadium since at least 2006 (on record)

PSU averaged 2.19 yards per carry, the second fewest USC has allowed in the LR era.

USC had 3 penalties, the 3rd fewest of any game in the LR era.

Witnessed by a record-breaking 114,419 people on the east coast.

In case you want hard numbers as a reason to feel good about this game. I'm still riding this high.

(Got these stats from the Reign of Troy podcast on YouTube, s/o to them)

They are definitely living up to their billing as the #1 recruiting class. 4th BigTen freshman of the week award out of 6 weeks.

I can see Mosley, Wafle, Bowman, or Dixon-Wyatt adding to the list.

Hot Take The Lincoln Riley We Saw Yesterday Was the Lincoln Riley We Were Promised

I’m a huge Lincoln Riley hater. Have been since the loss to Tulane in that bowl game.

But what we saw last night, that was the Lincoln Riley we were promised. Creative play calling, creative coaching decisions (the sub to cause delay of game on Penn State/force them to burn a timeout, the end of game delay of game on Penn State’s defense, forcing Penn State to burn all their timeouts early in the second half/the fake going for it on fourth down, etc.), and keen attention to detail.

Say what you will about who Penn State is this year, but Matt Campbell is a good coach. He’s well respected in multiple football circles and always gets the most out of his rosters. The white out atmosphere is something that would rattle most USC teams the last 10 years. And traveling to the east coast has always been difficult for this team.

Lincoln Riley starting the second half off with an onside kick took balls and signaled to the rest of the team that he trusts their defense and Gary Patterson. It seemed to indicate a culture shift in real-time to start the second half.

Here’s to hoping Lincoln Riley coaches this way the rest of the season. If he does, we have a real shot at the CFP.

Mahalo

Jayden Maiava is such a mahalo type QB. Has anyone noticed how “chill” he is. I think of the play last night where the defensive end for Penn state bats the ball in the air and he just calmly runs over bats it down to the ground (smart play) but there’s no panic. Even on the sideline watching him he almost seems like he gets in this rhythmic flow state like the swell on it way to Hawaii. I’ve never watched a QB like him. It’s interesting. He played incredible last night. Fight on!

Fight On! ✌️ We upgraded at DC

I have been a pretty big GP hater… but I may have been slightly unfair and it’s clear he is better than D’Anton Lynn. Last night Penn State showed all the horrible defensive issues we had before. Generating zero pressure, dropping everyone, and getting picked apart.

Thought it was funny that Lynn always said he never man pressed at USC because we don’t have the athletes… you know what his excuse was last night for Penn State? Not talented enough.

Dude genuinely thinks you need Ohio State/Texas/Georgia talent to man press or blitz.

Rant over, I’ll promise to be more nice to GP. Fight On
