Just to clarify: we're NOT cool with flock cameras, and we're NOT cool with illegal street racers, but we ARE cool with FPD using drones to conduct surveillence when and where they see fit?
That seems like a bit of slippery slope. Unless I'm missing something, why would we be okay with one but not the other?
I'm not cool with illegal street racers who endanger the public and cause a ruckus in residential areas either, but I'm also definitely not cool with FPD using drones to creep on you and me. It is virtually the same as searching for potential wrongdoing via flock camera. Where do we draw the line on allowing ourselves to be watched and monitored potentially on our very own property?
I don't know what the best solution is here, but there should be some consistency on the matter, no? Can anyone shed some more light on this to make it make sense to those of us who are confused on the "laws for thee but not for me" mentality on this?

25th St S of 52nd ave
What a cluster fuck. I swear the traffic is like the demons in their cars approaching the gas station from the movie legion. Is this the only fucking road that the deeper south area has access too? Fuck

Auto shop for a high-output alternator?
Does anyone know the best shop in the area to get a high-output alternator put in that won’t charge a ton to do it?
I was leaning towards doing it myself, and if it was a direct swap I would. I’ve just never done it before and need this thing to run without issues, and don’t wanna deal with different sized pulleys/belts/connectors so now I’m thinking I should just take it in and stop procrastinating.
It’s going in a camper van, if that changes anything. I just need the alternator to have enough power to run a 40a DC>DC charger without burning out too quick. My alternator is dying anyway so it seems like the right move to upgrade it now.
I’m not sure if most auto shops could do this swap easily or if certain places would be better equipped.
I’d appreciate any advice, and please go easy on me. I’m not from the area originally and my dad wasn’t the kind of guy that fixed things, so I’ve kinda had to figure all of this stuff out myself.

Advice Black/White Cat N. University
If you're missing a cat near the N. University McDonald's, I saw it chewing on some roadkill squirrel in between the McDs exit and some apartments on the edge of the left bike lane.
Was not there anymore when I went back to check. (The cat; dead squirrel still there, though. You might want to take cat to the vet - if you're the kind of owner who lets them roam themselves into danger.)

What's a guy gotta do to get some Flavacol around here?
Fellow popcorn lovers, I am in search of Flavacol. I have a crazy craving for movie theater popcorn right now. Sure, I could get it on Amazon, but it's looking like that will take a week to get here. I've tried looking in Target and Hornbachers to no avail (unless I've been looking in the wrong ones). Where can I get some in the FM area?

Advice 17 year old looking for his first job
My son is looking for his first real job. He has applied to so many places, has only gotten 2 interviews, with the one saying they would let him know in a couple of days and the other saying at the time of interview they actually don’t have any openings. He did follow up with the first one but was just told something about the hiring manager may not have released the emails so that must be the rejection letters. He has applied to fast food, grocery stores, pizza places, Marcus theaters, etc. All jobs typical for a teen.
It’s become really frustrating and discouraging for him. He isn’t looking for odd jobs—he wants a part-time job where he can work, learn, and gain experience.
If you know of somewhere that is actually hiring 17-year-olds right now, or have advice for getting that first job, we would really appreciate it!

Puzzled over Forum's Connie Cleveland article.
N.D. Supreme Court reverses Cass County judge's decision in Newman Center organ case
Newman center hires a company to refurbish its organ. Work is not completed. Newman Center gets default judgment when both the business and its president, who personally agreed to the work, fail to respond to service. The business and the president file to vacate based on the president having suffered cognitive decline as the reason he did not respond to service. Newman center opposes but their response to the motion has errors. They admit they did not fact check their brief (did they use AI and nobody asked?). Judge disregards their errors anyway.
Cleveland ignores the errors and rejects the motion to vacate. The defendants appeal. There's also some technical legal stuff about "piercing the veil" between the company and the president, meaning I guess that the president is personally liable as well as the company but also is something that can be raised in a defense.
So, the issue of refurbishing the organ isn't a headline story. The supreme court found that the court (ie Cleveland) abused its discretion, but that's common language when an outcome is reversed on appeal. The organ company is not a local business (out of Georgia--does Johnson Organ Company no longer exist?). I mean, this is as boring a case as it gets.
So what was the reason for a news article about a case without significant (any?) public interest, although it does involve a locally prominent entity.
It's the first appeal from Cleveland to be reversed, but appeals usually don't result in reversals anyway.

Is taco bros any good?
My friends keep telling me that I HAAAAVE to try their "trust me bro" but I can't tell if they are being sarcastic or not. I would just give it a go for the fun of it but going downtown on the bus takes forever and it's a bit much just for a joke.
Edit: okay, that was a swift and unanimous yes. Getting my shoes on now

Is anyone else having issues with the fargo utilities website?
I got paid on Wednesday and my city of Fargo utility bill is due on the 19th and I have not been able to pay on the website, (fargond.gov/utilityportal). I did basic troubleshooting, tried both quick pay and log in. I tried to call the number to pay over the phone and it says it's having technical difficulties.
I just sent them an email, but I'm seeing if this is happening to others or just me

Holy moly, Moorhead finally finished it.
They did it. They finally finished the 11th St. underpasses. It's so glorious to not have to deal with the trains!
I wouldn't be surprised if this spurs on growth and more economic activity/opportunity, considering they've got that, a new library and redid the block that it's on to be more pedestrian friendly and having bike lanes, and updated Romkey Park to not be...what it was.
Moorhead is seriously having a glow-up!
(Apparently there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for the 11th St. underpasses https://www.moorheadmn.gov/news/posts/11-st-underpass-ribbon-cutting-community-celebration/ )
