Hey everyone, hoping there are a few mechanics on the sub that can give me some guidance on how to move forward.
1997 Ford F150, 127k miles, v8 4.6L engine, manual transmission, have owned for about 4 years.
Truck runs great in warm weather, but as soon as weather starts to cool down the truck refuses to start. It cranks and cranks, but doesn’t turnover. Issue has persisted since I bought the truck (clearly it was a cheap buy, use to haul, work truck, etc).
I have over the last few years changed out the fuel pump and fuel filter (did this myself). Unrelated, I also have a new starter on the truck and have the appropriate battery.
Anyone experienced a similar issue or know a path forward? To me, and I’m inexperienced in cars overall, it appears it’s getting the needed fuel, but something once the weather cools down just prevents it from turning over. Last piece of relevant info, the muffler is cut off by the previous owner.
Any help is appreciated!
