I (f18) am a new resident at Walters, just starting in the beginning of Fall 26'. The two main issues that the people on my floor (top floor) have been talking about is the growing roach problem and the elevators keep breaking down. Other floors have problems too (such as flooding in the 6th floor bathrooms) but both of those main issues are for all the floors.

I have seen roaches in the basement study room a few times, seen a few in a friend's dorm and hearing about roaches from other students (including one girl seeing one in her bed), ad one girl said that she found roaches in her laundry after putting them through the washing machine (which they also kept breaking down throughout the beginning of the semester). I am grossed out and have been praying my room with peppermint oil spray religiously.

With the elevators, they have been having issues since the first week. We have two elevators, and only one of them has worked nearly this whole time (broke down three times I think but once was while I was physically in it). The second elevator has had an "Out of Order" sign on it the entire time. that is until two weeks ago when it was being fixed, broken down, then fixed again, sometimes student getting stuck on it.

I don't think that location to my classes is worth it for this quality.
