Hello Community,

I had an issue that I would run into when trying to find multiple words on a webpage and found a few addons/extension that do the job but wanted to build something more to my liking. Spent sometime with Claude code and wala let me present to HueMark – Multi-word highlighter it supports up to 6 terms for now and 13 languages available on Chrome/Edge/Firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/huemark-multi-word-highlighter/

https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/kgfekpgoffpafdpopoeelmcnjdpgiakc

Pros:

·        The shortcuts work out of the box for Firefox

Cons:

·        The shortcuts don’t work out of the box for Chrome/Edge

o   Please add them

edge://extensions/shortcuts

chrome://extensions/shortcuts

o   use the following if not already overlapping with any other shortcuts or whatever is comfortable for you

§  alt+shift+right arrow to open/minimize extension

§  alt+shift+up/down arrow in minimized mode to jump between matches

§  alt+shift+left in minimized mode to cycle between terms

Did I mention it works on PDF’s?

I know it may not matter much but I have added a colorblind feature as well. I have a friend (drifted apart now), sometimes I would help him with his coding problems when I would sit on his machine, his IDE used to feel like a mess to me, color wise, I never realized it until he asked to borrow my “Blue” pen drive which was in fact purple and that’s when I realized he was colorblind. So, kind of added that for him even though he may never have much use for this 😊

The entire project is open sourced on Github under the MIT license

Looking for feedback and suggestions. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

I have the option to open results as a new tab, and since forever, pressing the back button on my mouse had closed the tab that was opened when I clicked a result.

This now seems to be broken?

I just wanted to know if I'm the only one, or if anyone else might be experiencing this issue, and maybe see if someone has found a solution.

Thanks everyone!

Does anyone know how to remove the 'Pin to Start' for websites from the taskbar?

It might be a stupid question, but how do I remove these icons from the taskbar? I clicked on the 'Pin to Start' option in Microsoft Edge after pressing more tools, and now it shows up on my taskbar, and I can't even remove it and I don't know how.

I recently got a new PC. Whenever I open Edge, in addition to the usual new tab page, it opens a 2nd tab for some reason. It seems like a random one based on browsing history, but once it opened to a tab I had open in chrome. This never happened on my old pc.

I made sure it's set to open the new tab page on startup, and I even tried setting it to launch to a specific site, but it still keeps doing it. Is there any way to stop it?

I tried searching online but I was taken to fluent flags and asking turn off always shows scrollbar but I can't find that option first and for most of the issues that I couldn't find any easy way to get this off

I did disable the fluent flags overlay according to the advice given by GPT but this issue still persists; does anyone know how to get this off in full screen mode because I mostly like using the browser in this mode so I just want this scrollbar to appear like when I am flipping through pages and scrolling up down but these are persistent and are always there on the screen so I don't want that

So, yeah, I have "Automatically put tabs to sleep" turned off in my Performance area in Settings, and yet...when I'm in Edge, and I go back to certain tabs after, say, 5-10 minutes...it'll auto-reload the page! And I really hate when it does that, especially during paused YouTube videos. Why does it keep doing this? Again, I apparently have it so it SHOULD stop doing that in my 'Performance' area in Settings, but it isn't stopping it. Can anyone help?

Hi! I'm a solo developer and I just published Dx Downloader on the Chrome Web Store (also on Microsoft Edge).

What it does: click its icon on a page and it lists what you can download: videos (including HLS streams), audio, subtitles and files like PDFs and ZIPs. One click saves them with readable names instead of `video_8f3a2.mp4`.

Features

Course Mode: saves lessons into folders (Course / Section / Lesson)

Subtitles as VTT or SRT

Download history kept on your device only

No account, no tracking, 18 languages, dark mode

What it doesn't do: it only downloads what your browser can already access. It doesn't break DRM or paywalls, and it doesn't support YouTube.

Price: free to use with a daily limit, no account needed. An optional Pro plan removes the limits..

It's my first public extension, so I'd really like your feedback:

on which sites does it miss something, and what would make it more useful for you?

(I also made free in-browser PDF and image tools on the same site, if that's useful to anyone.)

I just installed the latest Edge Canary and still found no sign of the Proofreader API. Everything else is there such as Rewriter, Summarizer etc and even a flag to switch to use the new Aion model instead of Phi-4-mini (I tried Aion in Edge, it works). Am I missing something? Shouldn't there be a flag for Proofreader like there is in Chrome? Or is it coming in later versions?

Hey everyone!

I'm an independent developer, and I've been working on a small browser extension called Imgkeep.

It lets you right-click images and save them in different formats (PNG, JPG, WebP, etc.) without having to download and convert them separately.

Everything happens locally in your browser. No accounts, no image uploads, and no tracking of the images you save.

I'd love to get some feedback from Edge users, especially about image-saving workflows that could be improved.

Happy to answer any questions!

For some reason my tabs don't go into power saving mode even though i haven't touched any settings, does someone know why?

I don't want it to be fullsceen, I want taskbar visible

I just got back from Opera and I'm looking for a sidebar that is very similar to the sidebar from Opera.

I had a student profile that was not completely logged in.

I would often get a pop up asking me to sign in but it was from years ago so not active.

I removed the profile because it was annoying and then edge shut down and when I opened it it had wiped all data. Everything that should be on my laptop including passwords history etc even though I never used the profile.

Now I cant try to sign back in because the email hasn't existed for years.

Is there any way I can get my profile back

Hi all,

I've been experiencing Sync issues with my Personal Account in Edge. The Profile is constantly set to "setting up sync" and all the options show "feature coming soon".
This is nonsense as I was syncing this in the past already.

When signing out and back in again, the sync is fixed but only until the next time I restart the browser. Then it's back to "setting up sync".

I have a second profile with a different account attached which is experiencing none of the issues, so I assume it has to do with some settings/configs in Profile 1.

Any advice or experiences?

Hi, I have searched for an answer on this and not found it. Whenever I open Edge, it creates a new folder in OneDrive called Copilot Chat Files. Is there any way to stop it doing this?

So today copilot got automatically updated but i am having problem in minibar

When i select text and ask copilot from minibar it only answers in first message of chat and then it stops responding if selected text from screen and ask copilot

It works fine if i ask manually

I don't know if i this is bug or problem on my end.
