Wing Fung/Oriental Foods

hi! maybe a weird question but i'm a very anxious person.

I usually go for matthew's when I'm shopping for east asian groceries, but I've never been into Wing Fung's, and theres no google maps images of inside the shop, but the reviews look great mostly!

is it easy enough to navigate? I use a walking stick and I'm quite chunky so I get anxious in narrow aisles etc. also, matthew's has the perk of things often being labelled with english labels on the products as well, does Wing Fung's also have this?

i mostly buy fresh vegetables and dry ingredients like noodles, rice, potato starch, and preserved pickles/vegetables, herbs/spices as well as cooking ingredients like sauces, vinegars etc if that helps any

thank you!

Anyone know a proper car air con specialist in Dundee?

I've got a 10 year old Peugeot and the air con/climate side has been dodgy for years. Airflow, cooling and heating are all patchy, and it basically never clears steam or defrosts properly.

It's had a couple of recharges over the years, but nothing ever really fixes it. I've checked for water ingress and there's none, so I'm assuming something in the air con/HVAC system has been faulty for a long time.

When I search, I just get the big garages and chains, and to be honest I don't trust them to know much beyond topping up the gas and sending me on my way.

Does anyone know of someone in Dundee/Tayside who focuses on car air con and actually diagnoses the problem? A mobile tech or a small independent would be great.

Hi everyone in Scotland!

I am a high school student from Aomori Prefecture, Japan. For my school research project, I am conducting a study on Japanese regional food culture and its potential appeal to people living in Scotland!

We are exploring your thoughts and preferences on three unique Aomori ramen styles (Miso Curry Milk Ramen, Shijimi Clam Ramen, and Niboshi Sardine Ramen).

If you live in Scotland (whether you're a local resident, working adult, or student), I would be extremely grateful if you could take 2–3 minutes to fill out this short survey

Target Audience: Anyone living in Scotland (Locals, Adults, Students)

Time required: Approx. 2–3 minutes

Format: Simple multiple-choice, 100% anonymous

Thank you so much for your time and support with my research project! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇯🇵

Eck.ents whereabouts?

Howdy folks, ex Dundee resident who lived here for a wee bit but had to return back to England.

Obviously when I lived here Eck.ent the fella who was cleaning up Dundee apparently left Dundee and started a walk from Edinburgh to London.

Was curious about how he’s getting on, as I did unfollow ages back to clear up my instagram, and saw the last post was over a month ago and I can’t seem to find anything to reveal any whereabouts.

Truthfully I do think he is a vulnerable person and I hope nothing bad has happened, I hope to assume he just got burnt out and needed a break from documenting everything all the time.

Anyway, cheers for reading

Job search

Anyone know of any typical job hunting sites to look at? I have your standard ones like Indeed etc but seem to be getting no results for much. I just really can't stand where I'm at right now and need something else.

Looking for full time hours maybe in the retail/hospitality side for now and have my own car.

Private counselling recs

Hi Dundee. This doesn't seem to have been asked for a while. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a private therapist / counsellor? Most of the free services are aimed at people in crisis which I'm not really but I would like to see someone semi regularly for help with my anxiety and depression. Thanks.

Why is ScotRail so expensive?

I started a new job in Edinburgh today, and honestly, the commuting costs from Dundee are crazy. ScotRail tickets are so expensive, and even buses aren’t cheap anymore.

Moving to Edinburgh straight away is also expensive, so I’m planning to relocate eventually, but until then, the travel costs are going to add up massively.
How do people manage this daily commute without spending a fortune? Are there any cheaper options, season tickets, or travel passes worth looking into?

Phone reception

I have moved to a dumb phone which has made me very reliant on regular phone signal. In the city center. My current dumb phone is EE and 4G. I have been screaming into the phone at how often it just disconnects and blanks out for long periods.

Is this just dumbphones in the city with old buildings? Or is their mobile provider that's better for just regular phone reception?
