Lately we've had an uptick in posts reported for AI and just AI-generated content in general. This is just a reminder that we do NOT permit AI-generated content on this sub. Content reported for AI will be investigated and dealt with in an informed manner.

How can I know if something is AI?

A very common method is to use Google's SynthID Detector. While SynthID is also used to invisibly watermark generated content, Google has made this detector available so people can more easily identify generated content from the more common engines using this tool. According to the company, this detector was made because "Generative AI technologies are rapidly evolving, and AI-generated content is becoming harder to distinguish from content not created with AI. While generative AI can unlock huge creative potential and improve & upscale existing content, it also presents new risks, like potentially spreading deceptive content — intentionally or unintentionally. Being able to identify when content is AI-generated empowers people interacting with such content to make more informed decisions by providing transparency into the tools that were used to edit or create the content." It notes it can detect content generated from:

• NVIDIA
• Google
• ChatGPT
• kakao

This and plain-old human intuition are typically more than enough to gauge if content is AI-generated. Even if you just have "a hunch", feel free to report it and we will always take a look.
