Book Spoilers Me after reading The Sixth Faction Spoiler
Veronica Roth really said no matter what plot changes there are, she was not finishing the book without Tris having to kill SOMEONE š

Book Spoilers The Sixth Faction ENDING (SPOILER ALERT!) Spoiler
I was literally so confused at the ending. Was Will really in cahoots with Jeanine? And what was The Mender's endgame at the end? I know it's dumb but can someone shed some light for me?

Repost: My love for Divergent
I originally made this post on my previous account sometime last year. However, i am now reposting it on this new account with the permission of the sub's mods.
I posted recently about recreating a character's outfit from the movies in gta. I also talked about having a crew. I have officially made a crew dedicated to divergent, and if anybody would like to join it (if you play GTA that is). Here is the name and tag to look for to join the crew...
I will post the screenshot of the emblems of each faction in the comments if it lets me

The Sixth Faction POVs Spoiler
Just finished the new book and i loved it! I wish it was longer and im shocked shes only writing 2 of them. Anyways the book was awesome but i couldnt help but get meta about the way she wrote Calebs POV and it kinda took me out of the story. We get Calebs perspective which we havent gotten before and that is cool BUT Tris and Fourās perspective is first person and Calebs is third and its throwing me off. Honestly it really bugged me that its written that way.. It makes me not trust Tris (or Four) as a reliable narrator.. its rare that character POVs change mid book, for example in ACOTAR the author has multiple POVs but only the 2 main characters are first person and the rest are third but their change in POV is between books and not in the same book like TSF. It felt like the author is trying to tell the reader something, especially because we never got Calebs perspective before.. maybe im overthinking it.. anyone else have this issue?

The Sixth Faction Pre-Order delayed?
Hey guys, I'm really confused. I preordered The Sixth Faction on amazon a few months ago. For all this time, it said it would arrive on October 15, but now the estimated delivery date had been moved all the way to December. I looked at other stores, but none of them seemed to have it in stock, even though the book had been out since the beginning of the month? This is specifically about the hardcover version. The paperback doesn't seem to have this problem.
For reference, I'm from Germany, looking to buy the English hardcover edition. Any other Germans here who can help me out? Any idea where else I could get it?

Book Spoilers SPOILERS: The Sixth Faction Spoiler
Okay I NEED to talk to someone about The Sixth Faction after finishing reading it today - obviously it has changed a lot (for the good or the worse, I havenāt decided) but I cannot stop thinking about one of the implications of the book.
The book mentioned - when Four was out at the wall with Zeke - that there is a wall of simulations to keep people from coming in/getting out.
Is this implying ALL of Allegiant is a simulation??? If so that is NUTS! But I canāt get it out of my head.
I feel like I missed a lot for the first read, and need to process and talk with others???

Film Spoilers Why did Tris have to kill will???
She shoots everyone in the foot, arm, leg, etc. But Will, her friƩnd, she immediately shoots in the head? I might understand that she tries to shoot him in the foot or arm or whatever and if he continues to try to kill her she has no choice. But this was... so rushed

Book Spoilers Predictions for how the duology ends after reading the first book. Spoiler
Thought it might be fun to make predictions for the next book, and the possible changes/plot points that will be included.
Tris gets the diary/discovers the truth about her mother quicker. Iām assuming most of book twos plot point/differences will be skipped due to time constraints. Although it could be condensed.
Iām also hoping that her father or someone else is the one that sacrifices themselves at the end. Would love to see tris and four actually get a happy ending in this new retelling.

Who is Gretchen??
Page 421 of The Sixth Faction. Someone named Gretchen is mentioned when Tris is talking about Fours expression. Could this be an editing mistake and Evelyn was supposed to printed here? Or did I miss something earlier in the book?

Book Spoilers Weird vibe from new book
I just finished part one of the sixth faction and I donāt get the hype. I was excited to see the changed aptitude test and itās still got the same problem as the last one. How would you test for amity or candor in that scenario? Then I was interested in the Caleb chapters and the first one is another maze. I skimmed the next Caleb chapter a bit cus I want to know more about erudite initiation and itās another maze. Whatās up with all the mazes? And the descriptions of stuff is inconsistent. The choosing stuff changes from metal to stone and back to metal. Jeanineās hair changes from brown to blonde. Just reading this book feels weird overall. Anyone else feel like this?

Book and Movie Spoilers Why is There a Choosing Ceremony?
I have been reading the new book like I'm sure many here and read the originals ages ago, but I'm struggling to figure out why they'd have a choosing ceremony at all in their society, the test already proves which aptitude you have, and divergents aren't an accepted part of their society, so why would they ever give anyone an ability to choose?

Book Spoilers So like⦠am I the only one who wished The Sixth Faction had more from Eric/ Jeanineās perspective Spoiler
also it kinddd if cleared them, I donāt remember if the original books also had it framed that the attack on Abnegation was only targeting the council members, not every Abnegation member. In light of the new discoveries about them, I donāt mind the coup that much ⦠anyways what do you think

Book Spoilers I'm really confused about the new book
Okay so I've just started The Sixth Faction (I'm up to the aptitude test, no spoilers pls), and I'm really confused.
I was under the impression that this book was based around if Tris chose a different faction, and therefore, everything up until that point would be the same as in the original book.
Because why wouldn't it be??? If the story is her choosing something different then it should only be different AFTER she's chosen??? Like why are things different beforehand? Her aptitude test is completely different (amongst other things) and that does make sense to me, her choosing a different faction wouldn't impact the aptitude test!
I don't know if this is me misunderstanding or because I'm autistic and have taken this too literally, but I just don't understand. I was really looking forward to this book and now I don't get it.

Should I reread Divergent trilogy before starting The Sixth Faction?
Hi everyone, as the title suggests, I was wondering whether I should reread the original trilogy before starting the new book. Itās been a while since Iāve read them so I donāt remember a whole lot, but Iām afraid that re-reading the books will give me certain expectations for the new book. Iām looking forward to it either way though :)

I finished the book too fast šš
One of my favorite things to do after reading a book is either go to YouTube and search [book title] as vines or go to Pinterest and search [book title] incorrect quotes, you know for laughs, but I canāt do it with The Sixth Faction because it just came out. I just would like something extra while I wait for the next book to come out.

I just finished The Sixth Faction, and I gotta say itās good, like really really good (NO SPOILERS)
I went in expecting another mediocre-at-best story in this series, but I actually loved it. Imo it is substantially better than the original series, though I am very curious to see how she wraps up this version in the next book.
The thing that struck me most was how much Veronica Rothās writing has improved. If you told me a different author wrote this, I would have believed you without questioning it for a second. She went from ātell, donāt showā to āshow, donāt tellā, and the result is so much better. You feel like youāre moving through the world with Tris and not just stuck in her head while she freaks out about yet another thing sheās jumped to conclusions about.
The world feels real, the plot moves forward with good pacing, and amount youāre asked to suspend belief about is reasonable (as opposed to the original series where weāre expected to buy that Tris learned how to become an expert in shooting, knife throwing, and fighting in one week. ONE FUCKING WEEK. Girl, please)
Tris doesnāt piss me off 75% of the time from being such an irrational and emotional hot mess like in the original version, especially the second and third books. Her and Four together feel like more of a team and not a codependent dumpster fire who never communicate well and are frequently on the verge of breaking up. I loved getting Caleb and Fourās perspectives too.
Iām just praying Roth sticks the landing. If she does, the new version will absolutely be one of my favorite series of the YA genre.
Edit: meant to mention that I got the audiobook. The voice actors did a great job. I really appreciate it when a book uses different VAs when thereās multiple protagonists

Book Spoilers We gotta talk about this character
New book spoilers ahead for Caleb
I really hoped weād get to see more behind the why of Calebās choice to betray Tris and maybe heād have a more sympathetic storyline with there being chapters from his POV, I was not expecting him to betray her earlier in the story and then die with no redemption at all!

Book Spoilers New Book Location
Reading The Sixth Faction and was curious - does the alternate universe take place in a different city than Chicago? With the changes of locations - the apartment the Priors live in rather than a house, several characters living in outbuildings of their factions and a mention of Michigan Avenue - was curious if it was a different city than Chicago, or just a different set up for this alternate world.
