Course/Class MAT 351 Emergency (Schmegner)

I absolutely bombed the midterm for probability and statistics one and it’s completely my fault… for anyone who has taken this course with this professor, how was the finals like and aside from office hours, what can I do to save this abysmal grade from failing cause both the midterm and final is worth 30% of the class each

Be my advisor (cdm)

Suppose I am a senior with 8 credits left, 4 of which I've already accounted for. That leaves me with the experimental learning class left. Last summer, I wasn't able to get into the internship class. I got an internship, but most of it will be over winter break. The start and end date aren't ideal, but it's a major tech company and I would be stupid for not taking it. That will be like, 3 internships since I've been in school. Granted, I might have fucked up by not taking the class sooner. Is there anyway I can take the class over winter break or use it for the class this winter quarter? If not, how can I just fill the credit to get it out of the way without going through months of internship applications. Has anyone had success with like... Idk maybe getting the credit waved?

Please advise.

Question Is there a way to block certain DePaul groups/announcements/division emails?

I am consistently getting emails from:

Campus Ministry
Division of Mission and Ministry
Division of Engagement, Belonging, and Ministry
Chinese Studies

Frankly, I’m not religious nor interested in those parts, and for some reason I keep getting emails about Chinese Studies.

I’m an upper class man, I get that DePaul is primarily based in Christianity as an organization, but it is a bit annoying I can’t block or unsubscribe from some of these “newsletters.”

Course/Class WRD 104 Professor Recommendations

Hello! I wanted to go on here and ask if any of you happen to have WRD 104 professor recommendations for my upcoming quarter. I want to take it asynchronously, though I'm not sure which professors would be good for that. A lot of people are registering for Katharine Romero Jimenez, but I can't find much information on how her course is formatted or on student feedback.

Thank you to anyone who is kind enough to interact with this post and can provide me with some WRD 104 professor recommendations!

Question will I get in? + possible scholarship??

I'm applying to DePaul (EA) for film and tv BFA prob documentary concentration

I have a 3.191(3.2 basically), no test scores, running start (duel enrollment at cc) full AA by end of senior yr (individual degree)

im submitting my personal statement, and a creative essay about how im inspired by people who change my perspective and small observation in everyday life + example + a class and professor I like at DePaul and how Chicago has good opportunities.

Also submitting a portfolio: (still from short sustainable fashion designer doc, double exposure photography from a short profile doc I made about a traveling performer, 2 paintings, 3min clip of the fashion doc, + maybe some storyboard sketches?? not 100% sure yet...)

For activities I did a month docu film intensive at a local art school, I developed a international student platform for journalism and school newspapers w a friend from Korea but I don't rly work on it anymore, I've made a few short documentaries ^^, I worked at a daycare, im ab to start working at my cc newspaper, I do art (hobby), and im in honors/dean list at my cc.

final thing: my gpa is low bc sophmore yr I had mental and physical health problems so I got like all D's and C's- but I recovered and switched to running start (duel enrollment) but im writing a short thing about that in indational info + my School counselors addressing it in her note.

I think I can get in but my worry is that I won't be able to pay so im wondering if it looks like id be eligible for any scholarships?? depauls my top school.

Has anyone taken Wilfred marrero csc 301 midterm last winter and spring?

Last winter he moved his exams to in person instead of online. How were the midterms like? Did he curve the exam and by how much? And how much of the class do you believe passed his class?

Advice for Winter Quarter Classes

Hello! I'm currently in the process of choosing courses for the 2026-2027 Winter Quarter, and I was hoping that I could get some advice on what courses I should take/avoid taking, or recommendations for any specific professors.

I talked to my counselor, and she recommended that I take these courses next quarter:

- Focal Point

- ACC 102

- WRD 104

-More up for grabs: FIN 310/MKT 301/BUS 103

I am willing to hear out other people's advice, whether it would be replacing any classes from this list, choosing one of the courses listed at the end over the others, or any specific professor recommendations for the courses listed. Thank you so much to anyone who decides to reply and take the time out of their day to provide some advice/suggestions based on their own experiences!

MS in SWE concentration in SW development and architecture

Hello everybody,

I’m currently finishing my final year at college majoring in CS with a minor in DS. I’m contemplating whether or not to pursue my master’s at DePaul. I’m wondering if anyone here has gone through the same path and would be willing to share their experience.

What were the courses like?

How are the professors?

What did you like and not like about the MS program?

Would the CS background help me prepare for certain classes?

How is the workload?

Please feel free to tell me more about it!

Question Has anyone ever successfully gotten approved for an LSP exception appeal?

My massive oversight struck again and I took an SNC course that I thought would satisfy SILB credits but it didn’t

Submitted an appeal after talking with my advisor and it seems like a strong case. Anyone here have experience with this?

I am not having a great time

I’m not talking about academically because I’m capable of getting good grades under the right conditions. I’m mainly talking about socially. Aside from my roommates I haven’t made a single solid friend here. It’s just that I feel impossible invading over establish friends and what not I’m a transfer junior who majors in actuarial science and although I talk to a few of my classmates and they seem pretty decent. None of them has ever followed up on any conversations or invite me anywhere or shit like that. It’s probably because I’m autistic, but I can’t seem to approach friends and I’ve been pretty much struggling with that my entire life even if people would want to be my friendon Reddit or something like that I still feel reluctant. I’m so laser focused on finding my people. Idk idk idk I’m spiraling

Edit: I am dorming this year and I had tried three clubs so far. Two of them conflict with my Tuesday evening class and one of them isn’t as active as I thought it would be.

Course/Class Registration never having enough classes or seats

Is it just me, or does it feel like less and less classes are being offered with even smaller class sizes. It feels impossible to find anything that fits into my schedule, and it really grinds my gears.
