[DD 2] Discussion It's growing on me
I bought the game when it first released out of early access and bounced off it hard due to being a different beast from the first game. Finally gave it another shot this month and I'm actually beginning to appreciate it. I just cleared the second confession and it's been kind of fun learning about how best to handle token management which seems to be more of the point this time around. I do miss the management layer of the Hamlet, but I'm enjoying the individual runs.
I will say that it takes a bit to start a new run. Riding to the house to select a confession, going through the backstory segment, and then the Valley just to the inn where you can finally start the run proper is a bit much. It's probably better in Kingdoms but I want to get through the original story before delving too deeply in to that.
I think I still prefer the quasi-XCOM style of the first game overall, but I see what their going for here and I like it.
