is an 84 atar enough to get into speech pathology if you get no adjustments ?
i’m currently in year 12 and just got my second sem predicted atar back and it was 84. this is a lot lower than i wanted and i’m hoping to bring it up to an 88 with my wace exams, but i’d like to know if anyone who’s currently doing speech path got in on a lower atar (without equitable adjustments because i don’t live regionally or live in a low socio economic area). I saw on TISC that the median atar for entry was 91 after adjustments which makes me worry as i won’t have any adjustments and probably won’t get above 90. oh and I also put speech path for my first preference early offer but i won’t know if i got it until december 5th so that’s not much help, my predicted end of year 11 was 88, do you think that is enough to get my offers accepted?

INDH unit
Hello guys, anyone studying the Indigenous Cultures and Health Behaviours (INDH) unit? I'm not sure how to do the upcoming critical reflection thing..
Do we have to include references? Do we have to use hard vocabulary? Do we have to write only one paragraph or can it be many? Can we connect our experiences to the group presentation topic that we had or even the part we gave a speech individually on instead of the topics in the modules? I have no idea how to do it and how to get good marks in the unit..

Nursing application timing
Just wondering if anyone's applied to the Bachelor of Nursing recently (as alumnus or non-TISC), and how long you waited to hear back.
I applied for the Masters but it's saying 'Verifying application' near 6 weeks after applying, so I have a bad feeling 😅😬
I'm thinking of applying to the Undergrad as a type of back up.
Thanks 😁

Hypothetical scenario: accused of academic misconduct, but all notes and drafts are on pen and paper
Hi everyone,
Firstly, I have NOT been accused of any academic misconduct!
However, I'm stressing about seeing the amount of academic misconduct cases here on Reddit.
I do all of my note taking and drafts on pen and paper. For one assignment, I can easily use up half a notebook based on this process alone.
I also usually do about 2 - 3 typed copies of an essay/report, print it, make annotations and then submit the final.
Out of curiosity, if I was ever accussed of academic misconduct, I was wondering how endless notes and drafts on pen and paper would look? Obviously, it's not exactly neat and probably hard to make out anything as I have my own system for it all.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for your responses! It's all very reassuring. I noticed a comment was made (that moderators have since removed), stipulating my post was "odd" on the basis of my previous post history pertaining to mental health struggles and an inability to get psychiatric support. Just want to say that people CAN struggle mentally and still be able to study without resorting to cheating.

Respondus Lockdown
I had to use this browser for the first time, unfortunately I also own a Jack Russell Terrier. As I was completing the test and reviewing my answers, my dog fucking sets off, so proud of him up until this moment, nobody even approached the door!!! Just wanted to know if i’ll get flagged for this, or could i argue since i made no changes after his hissy fit, that theres nothing wrong with it?

How do you guys deal with the stress of waiting for marks before exams?
Long story short I haven't done too well this semester, I haven't failed any assessments (getting 70% or above on all my assessments so far except 2 which I got 53% and 60% for). I haven't had a great semester with stress and family issues but I've managed to get by.
Anyway I really dont want to have to repeat any units and extend my degree so I'm trying to calculate what grades I need to pass my units but all my assessments marks won't be back until at least end of next week.
How do y'all deal with this stress? 🙏😭

Logbook EPEP
Has anyone ever dealt with a logbook submission after the due date and if so who did they contact for support and assistance.
Was using the lab archives tool this sem and couldn’t find a due date and assumed it was last week of sem and here we are.
Also only received feedback on experiences day before real due date

Advice for HUMB1000 & CMHL1000 online or internal?
Hey so I’m doing midwifery next year and I’m having to do the above units alongside MIDW units.
I would prefer to go to campus for CMHL1000 & HUMB1000 as I learn better when I’m there in person.
MIDW units are in block weeks (3 weeks for semester 1)
This is my predicament….
I can’t attend these classes the weeks that I have block weeks, and to add to that, I will have 4 weeks of placement..
So I would physically be missing 7 weeks of classes in person but could do the recorded modules…
Is it even worth doing these classes internally? Or am I better just doing it online?
I’m told I’m not penalised for attendance in these units
Help!

mech enginnering
Hi!! I'm planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering next year, and tbh I'm a bit nervous because I've heard how challenging it can be I just wanted to ask a few questions and hopefully get some advice on how to mentally prepare myself!
- How much did you have to study? I'm honestly not the most efficient learner, and it takes me quite a while to understand and process new concepts. I also struggle a bit with staying focused, so I'm worried about how I'll manage the workload.
- What were the most challenging units? Were there any particular units you found especially difficult or wish you'd prepared for beforehand?
- Do you actually enjoy it?
- Do you have any general advice? Is there anything you wish you'd known before starting, or anything you'd recommend doing to prepare?

Mining Unit
Hi guys,
Have you guys taken any unit with professor Erkan Topal?
I'm doing a final presentation and I need 73 to pass and I'm quite worried. Do you know if he is strictly at marking presentations or do you have any recommendations?
Recommendations out of these options for units?? HLPR1000, HUMB1000, PSYC2008, PUBH1000, SXLG2000 ??
I've already been told to not do humb1000 if the option is there

Guys!!i need help regarding choosing a course in curtin University
Hi everyone, I’m considering Curtin’s Master of Predictive Analytics, particularly the Data Science major, and would really appreciate some honest feedback from current students or recent graduates.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the teaching quality and assessment process, so I wanted to ask:
- Are lecturers friendly , good at explaining concepts, or is most of the learning left to students? Are classes practical, or mostly recorded lectures and self-study?
2.How fair is the marking? Do lecturers provide useful feedback and support when students struggle?
- I’ve seen complaints about genuine work being flagged as AI-generated, even when students wrote it themselves. Has anyone experienced this recently? How are such cases handled, especially given Curtin’s updated Turnitin policy?
4.Does the university genuinely help students secure internships through industry connections, or do students have to find everything themselves? How supportive are lecturers in this process?
5.How helpful is the careers team with securing internships, improving CVs and gaining relevant international industry experience that I can demonstrate to employers when I return to my home country after graduation?
6.Overall, would you recommend this course for its teaching quality, practical skills and career preparation?
I’m trying to make an informed decision before investing in my postgraduate studies, so I’d appreciate honest experiences, both positive and negative.Guys please be helpful and provide advice to me....

Who Gets to Tell Her Story?
The Up documentary series follows the same people as they grow older. But does being filmed necessarily mean being understood?
In 49 Up, Jackie questions how the director’s editing shapes her portrayal. Her response raises a question: when we judge a woman’s life, how much of her own voice do we actually hear?
“Employed,” “married,” “a stay-at-home mother”—these labels describe aspects of someone’s life, but they cannot define her independence, worth, or happiness.
This is also the question behind our interview project, Who Gets to Define an Independent Woman? Through the different experiences of two family members, we explore how income, family expectations, and personal choices shape our understanding of independence.
Beyond your job and relationship status, what would you like people to know about your life?
