Hi everyone!

I'm having a performance issue with modded Minecraft, and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm hoping someone here can help me figure it out.

My PC specs:

• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER (12 GB VRAM)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
• RAM: 32 GB DDR5
• Launcher: CurseForge
• Allocated RAM: 10 GB

The problem:

Minecraft starts stuttering after a few minutes badly. This can happen even when I'm standing still or sitting in the game settings menu. The issue usually lasts around a minute, then everything goes back to normal and then again stuttering. It happens in every bigger modpack I try (stoneblock 4, ATM10, ragnamod VII)

During these periods:

• System RAM usage reaches around 99%.
• Dedicated GPU memory usage reaches approximately 10.7/12 GB.
• GPU 3D utilization sometimes spikes to 90–100%.
• The OpenJDK Platform Binary process uses around 7 GB of RAM.

When I close Minecraft, system RAM usage drops back to around 32%.

I've also tried closing background applications such as Brave, but that didn't help. Other games run normally, so I'm wondering if this is related to the Java, a memory leak, or some graphics settings.

Other games run normally (cyberpunk, witcher 3 remaster, wardogs, ect.)

I recently had my PC serviced so it shouldn't be a problem with my PC, physically at least.

Does anyone know what could cause this?

I am attempting to use the distant horizons mod along with the chunky mod to preload the chunks. I can open the game just fine, but every time I attempt to join the world, the game crashes.

The crash logs give me no hint as to what the problem could be.

Currently playing on 1.20.1, but have the same issue over multiple versions of Minecraft.

I am able to join the world successfully if I disable one of the two mods, but I can't use both together.

I attempted to load into the world, use chunky to load the chunks, then disable it and use distant horizons, but then can't see any of the loaded chunks.

Is there any known way to fix this or get it to stop crashing?

Hi all, I've been using Essential for months to play random modpacks with a friend. A day or two ago, we set up to play and I started searching up random modpacks to try out. Found one, did the general 'add content' stuff and looked for Essential... No essential. I shrugged it off and searched for another, because there are some modpacks on Curseforge where Essential doesn't have a compatible version.

It kept happening. Five, ten modpacks - no essential. Different versions of Minecraft, Forge or Neoforge or Fabric. No matter what, no Essential. Today I was fed up and decided to make my own modpack where we could play the Veinbound map that was popular a while back. So I make a new profile, 1.21.8 in Forge, then search up Essential. Nothing. I do the same with Fabric and Neoforge - nothing. Then I go to Essential's page and check - and yeah, there's a Forge version that fits 1.21.8. So, I just download that and build the profile off of that.

My question is: What is going on? Why does it seem like Essential has basically been softblocked on Curseforge? No matter how I search it, I can't add it to modpacks without going to Essential Mod and personally digging out the correct version to 'add to modpack' rather than the much more simple option of using 'add content' from whatever modpack profile I've dug from the depths. I feel like I'm going a little nuts, because I can't really find info about it anywhere. Below I added some images showing that it really just... doesn't show up.

Hi guys, I’ve never really posted on Reddit but I figured this was the best place to ask.
I literally cannot download mods and I don’t understand why. It looks like the code(?) is screwed up on the website. I’ve tried the app and it’s working alright but I can’t find the specific mods I’m trying to download. The Download button on the website is just gone, and I don’t know how to fix it.
Has anyone else had this issue? :(

It’s starting to just get painful how many mods have AI pictures and it genuinely makes the whole look of the website look bad. Do we know if they plan to do anything about the AI problem something like making people have to add a AI tag to their post or something as simple as that so we can avoid it more.

Ever since I uninstalled Inzoi, CurseForge got deleted, and now I can’t log back in—plus, I had The Sims 4 and my mods on there too... 🤷‍♀️

The modpack I’m using which is a customized All the Mons, I keep having to launch it with internet connection even though it’s already downloaded. During launch is says it’s installing files even though it shouldn’t have a reason too. I just want to play offline instead of burning limited hotspot

All I get is this. App update failed for unknown reason. this this happening to anyone else? I tried googling it but that was less than helpful.

Edit. I checked overwolf for updates but I'm up to date on that, so that's not it.

Ive been having issues with curseforge (No new minecraft modpacks i download work except ones i already have) and i think resetting my device would help, plus i could have more space.

I have moved modpacks and individual worlds in the past. When i tried by simply copying the modpack file from Instances and move it to another device, it does not show up and curseforge does not detect it at all. Ive already lost worlds/modpacks in the past because of this.

Obviously i could just "re-download the modpack" but as ive explained it would be much easier to just move the files plus prevent the issue im having from happening

So what files do i need to move to make sure curseforge detects it.

Obviously i know the main modpack file in (Instance) needs to be moved, but is there anything else from someone who has done it?
