Help! Should i add more rounds/ increase for my earflap beanie?

Im making a tigger ear beanie for my father in law’s birthday soon, his head is 23 inches around. The other pic is my boyfriend demonstrating how it looks/ fits on his head as reference. Bf’s head is 19 inches around. The beanie part is currently more than 8.5 inches, its made out of DK yarn so it is a bit stretchy.

Need to finish it asap, if anyone has any suggestion i would really appreciate it !

Half double crochet / half treble crochet (US) advice - Bella Coco videos

Hello all, i am a beginner and took up crochet a few weeks ago, after my son was stillborn. I have been following the Bella Coco videos. I am now on ep 4 and really struggling with this stitch. Bella explains where to put the first stitch of the new row in - not in the base of the chain, but on the one along - and to do the last one in the next turning chain. I’ve been trying to follow but now my work looks like it has holes in? Any advice? Thank you so much in advance x
