Mistborn Second Era Wax as a Valorant Agent
Wax is a gunslinger with abilities, so I thought it would be cool to throw him into the shooter game Valorant as a movement Duelist. For my own enjoyment, I thought about designing his moveset and lore. First of all I will have to nerf him if I want him to be a good fit, I have incorporated the nerf in the lore and moveset that i came up with. Most importantly, he shouldn't be able to push anything other than his own coins, I feel otherwise whole maps will have to be redesigned to introduce metal vs not metal parts of the map, and it would look really annoying to players anyways, with all those lines pointing everywhere without fine control over where to push (although there could be UI changes to reflect Allomancy differentl first person, I decided not to go down that line of thinking). The final moveset I came up with has too much overlap with other agents, so it probably won't become real (I mean, it probably won't happen regardless), but here they are:
Abilities (Lost Metal spoilers -->I designed him as a Crasher rather than a Mistborn)
(the moveset does not contain spoilers):
- Coinshooting: Wax can buy multiple coins (like Chamber Headhunter shots, I'm think anywhere between 4 - 8) Equips one or more purified coin that he can launch into walls, drop on the ground, or shoot at enemies (doing only a little bit of damage, in the ball park of 25/10/8. Shooting a coin while flaring does 150/60/48, letting him one-shot an enemy, probably not that useful but I want it to be an option). Shooting coin into walls in buy phase does not deplete Steel. Coins have 100% accuracy with no recoil and movement errors (aim punch however will affect it)
- Steelpushing (yes ik this means the same thing): Wax will have a gauge for Steel (like how Skye has a bar for how much healing is left). In the shop Wax can buy 2 vials total. Each vial replenishes the Steel bar fully. Wax can select between regular Push or Flaresd Push, where a Flared push can only be done if the Steel bar is full. When Steelpushing is cast, it will Push on the nearest coin. When looking at a coin, you can use the Interact button to Push on it. Wax can Push on coins to achieve the following effects:
- Push coins launched into walls or ground to gain an instant momentum away from the coin (like a Raze satchel). Flared Pushes grant a lot more momentum (idk how balanced this is).
- Push coins directly beneath you on the ground to levitate (creating off angles), but you can only float for so long before your Steel runs out.
- Enemies shot by coins can be Pushed only when Wax is Flaring, the distance pushed depends on how many times the enemy was shot by a coin.
- No you cannot push teammates off a cliff, stop trolling. (Although I would love to see that in a perfect world, you could pull off very cool combos)
- Utility note:
- Coinshooting and Steelpushing work together always by design. You can use this to entry, wide swing, create off angles, and create one-and-dones. Even though this takes up 2 abilities slots, it grants great versatility.
- Skimming (signature ability): Wax can change his weight to achieve different effects. Toggle to change how much weight to be storing or tapping at any given time (I'm thinking like 0%, 20% 50%)
- Wax can store weight if his Ironmind is not full. During storage at 0%/20%/50% of the maximum weight, sound made by Wax while running or jumping can be heard at most 25/20/5 meters away and he takes reduced fall damage (increasing minimum distance at which fall damage begins to be applied)
- Additionally, when storing weight while levitating, it costs less Steel to stay levitating.
- Wax can tap weight if his Metalmind is not empty. Tapping weight faster = slower movement speed & less recoil.
- When tapping weight while levitating, costs more steel (tbf there is no reason to do this). Pushing a coin against wall/floor while tapping weight grants less momentum.
- Flaring and pushing coins attached to an opponent while tapping weight pushes the opponent further.
- Utility note:
- Storing weight let Wax move quickly without being heard, which carries the benefits of giving the opponent less information -- secretly repositioning, mind gaming, and lurking (ha, lurking duelist). Usefulness of reduced fall damage speaks for itself.
- I translated the idea of tapping weight to push heavier objects into tapping weight for easier spray control. It will be useful for rifles and SMGs, but not too useful if you're playing machine guns.
- (bonus ability) Crashing (this is very cremmy): Crouching and casting Skimming midair will have Wax tap his Iron. Falling on an opponent this way will do X damage to them and X/2 damage to you, X depending on the height falling from. Falling on the ground this way will do extra fall damage.
- Utility note:
- To do this, you can either jump off somewhere high, or push yourself up and then crash down.
- Design note:
- I don't think it's too useful, but it would be HILARIOUS.
- Crashing is named after Crasher, just like Skimming is named after Skimmer (as in a Steel Ferring, not the things that Steal Financial Information)
- Utility note:
- (ultimate ability) Dome of Steel: 9 orb ability. Wax instantly gains 100 temporary armor that absorbs 100% damage, and replenishes his steel bar. In a 10 meter spherical radius, Wax is able to see Allomantic Lines of opponents' weapons, which he can push on if he chooses.
- Design notes:
- The name, orb count, and other numbers can definitely be up to change.
- this was my favorite part of this fan-design to think about. I thought of ult orbs as pure energy (Investiture) that you can absorb to power your abilities, like the Dor. So I thought about how a lot of extra energy can boost Wax such that his Pushes can affect Radianite (In this design I still don't want him to push on the map pretend that isn't an issue). I put this idea with his signature Steel Bubble,
- Design notes:
Fanfic Lore (in case you care): When Wax entered the Beyond he somehow split into two people each ending up in either Alpha or Omega Earth. His appearance caused an massive anomaly that Valorant investigated. Valorant recovered him, questioned him, and realized he is a great shot and detected him as "Radiant" (since being invested manifests similarly as being Radiant). Wax realize he cannot Push any metal with even trace amounts of Radianite interfering (Me trying to nerf him in lore so that the balancing make sense in terms of the continuity), so Valorant helped him create purified coins and an Ironmind (granted cannot hold as much weight as a Cosmere Ironmind because [insert disadvantageous investiture conversion physics due to being in a different universe]. Yes I am still nerfing him in lore)
That's all from me!

Mistborn Second Era What would the inhabitants of these cities know about one another?
I am running a tabletop RPG campaign (using the *Fate Accelerated* system) set during the Second Era of *Mistborn*, which posits that the worlds of *Fullmetal Alchemist* and *Avatar* are also part of the Cosmere.
Essentially, this entire campaign is the culmination of two other long-running campaigns that took place in the aforementioned worlds.
To clarify:
Elendel, a few months after the events of Volume 4 of the Second Era
Central: Three years after the promised day
Repyblick City: Several years after Kuvira
