Hello Candidates!
Updating the stickied post about sub rules as there have been a few rascals griping about “not seeing a rule saying xyz” even though they received a ban for it. If the rule you broke was relating to exam disclosure - thats not even a sub rule. Thats a rule you agreed to when you sat for the exam. Do not solicit or provide exam content.
First – I want to point out we do have an Automod in place that removes anything from accounts < 5 days old or with < 5 combined karma. We do get some spam posted here and this automod helps quite a bit. If you are on a new account and start posting here, add a comment with a u/galbert123 mention and ill approve it asap
Put at least a little effort into your posts, especially titles Yes this is me on a power trip. I hate clickbait. If your question fits into a post title, ask the question! Dont post "I have a question..." "Should I get my cpa if..."
No Clickbait Post Titles
Be ethical – Do not post, offer to share, buy, sell or ask for copywritten study material – This is an immediate ban
No Promotional Accounts - This is not a place to advertise products. There are some clear xyz product Ambassador accounts that ONLY comment about what study material they use. I’m removing that stuff. If you throw it in every once and a while fine, but some account I see are literally just ads for the study material. Organic conversation about the study material you use is great. Here are reddit guidelines on self promotion.
But what about those ads/promotions I see for xyz product
That company pays for those through the proper reddit channels.
This is NOT a study material marketplace Do not make posts trying to sell your old material, your post removed, maybe a ban if it looks overly sketchy
Use tact and be generally kind to each other – The downvotes usually speak for themselves on this. When I start to see one user getting a bunch of reports and it looks like an obvious troll, I’ll probably ban. This is a judgement call.
Shit posts are great. Posting bullshit is not. Posts like “Score Release moved to after thanksgiving - wouldn’t be surprised from NASBA” is not a shit post or a joke post. It needlessly stressed a bunch of people out
This is a bunch of bullshit censorship.
I guess that's one way to look at it. I dont know where the compulsion to be a jerk fits into the overall betterment of the sub. We are generally all fighting the same fight here.
Asking for or providing exam content is not allowed. This includes "What topics were heavily tested"
Asking what should I study is ok. Asking "Those who recently took AUD, what should I study" leans toward not ok because of the implication. People here are generally good people. Exclude any references to your exam or recent exam takers etc. They'll tell you what to study.
"What sim topics did you see (on your exam)?" No.
What sim topics should I study? - good
"Just got out of AUD, I saw sims on X Y and Z (on my exam)" - No.
"Study this because I saw it on my exam". No good. Just say "it would be wise study this". Get it? If you are talking about your exam, or asking other candidates about their exam, don't.
If you get banned for this, its usually just to get your attention that what you posted broke the rule. Send me a message and ill undo it, just keep your posts compliant with AICPA disclosure policy. I dont want to ban anyone ever.
Please see this post for some examples.
21 day edit: Interesting how two of the people who chimed in saying how stupid this is rarely if ever contributed to the sub otherwise prior to this post and now have deleted their account completely.

Note on the title - When I say this is not a sharing sub, I am referring to sharing of paid access to study resources. Sharing your own home made study guides is fine - though I highly recommend making your own handwritten study/review notes.
There has been a huge influx of beggars lately. If I click into your account and all I generally see is you asking for study notes or study material access, you're going to get banned.
Also, please flair up! It honestly does help weed out some of these accounts with flair. Try to flair up if you know you are going to be around and want to participate.
This sub is good because of back and forth engagement. Try to give at least as much as you take. If you post a question, try to respond to comments. Nothing worse than a question then OP just ghosts the thread.

I’m just getting through R1 and this shit is more annoying than FAR and AUD. How the fuck are we supposed to memorize all these silly ass rules? This is my last exam hopefully (waiting on ISC results) and I’ll be done with this garbage.

Can’t believe I gotta wait two whole months to find out if I’ll officially become a CPA 🫣
Worst part about taking the discipline section by far

I’m currently studying for AUD and curious of what your top 10 AUD rules/facts to have down cold would be. Not general topics, I mean specifics.

Just finished the first two sims, anyone else bombing the TB’s? Across the 4 MCQ testlet’s I’m averaging an 82%. But the TB’s is around 50%.
I don’t know if anyone feels the same but for me the TB’s just bring out every obscure scenario possible…

Does anyone have any tips or tricks on getting past R2-M1? I find this part the most complex and I just can’t figure it out.

I'm scheduled to take FAR at the beginning of November, and I'm feeling pretty nervous about whether I'll be prepared. I'm almost done with F6 and have put in about 150 hours of studying. I'm also in a Master of Accounting program, so balancing school and CPA study has been challenging.
Across most modules, I've averaged around 50–60% on my first attempt at the MCQs without notes or the textbook. My scores improve quite a bit when I go back through the questions, but sometimes I worry that I'm just remembering the answers rather than fully understanding the material.
I've tried to incorporate cumulative review throughout my studying, but I haven't been doing much of it since my classes started because I've been focused on finishing the material.
I'm planning on doing two weeks of final review, starting with 25 MCQs and 2 TBSs per unit before taking my first simulated exam. After that, I'll focus on my weaker areas based on the results.
My biggest concern is how much I've forgotten from the earlier units since I've been learning so much new material in a relatively short amount of time. I feel like I understand concepts while I'm studying them, but I'm not sure how well I'll remember everything when it's mixed together on the exam.
For those who have passed FAR, did you feel similarly before starting your final review? Did things start coming together once you began cumulative practice? Also, is there anything you'd recommend doing differently with my remaining two weeks?
I'd appreciate any advice or experiences you can share!

Im confused about the concept for the basis in C Corp and S Corp. i’m worried as these topics are heavily tested in TCP.
r/CPA • u/Valuable_Fun658 • 14h ago
Just walked out of TCP and not sure how I feel... I went in feeling like I knew most of the stuff but felt like I messed up on a lot of the problems and started forgetting stuff. The wording on the questions also had me second guessing my answers. I’m scared for December did anyone else feel this way😭😭

I know more of the same sorry. For those who have taken AUD recently, would you recommend spending extra time reviewing transaction cycles and sampling? I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about transaction cycles lately, which I don’t remember being a big focus when I took the exam last month.
Any other study tips or areas you’d recommend reviewing?
r/CPA • u/heart_of_gold2 • 10h ago
Just curious how much study time you put in to pass AUD. Around how many hours would you study per week, and for how many weeks?
Feel free to share your score if you want!
EDIT: please also mention if you’ve ever worked in audit! I understand that if you’ve worked in audit, it’s possible you may not study as many hours as others.

Sat for REG 3 weeks ago and got a 66 back a week ago. Jumping right back in tomorrow. Im 3/4. This 66 was my first fail. Took SEFR today with a 62 and meticulously went through the wrong answers I got. I was weak on entity and individuals on my first attempt of the exam which is like 65% of the exam so i think i can pull it off.
Honestly the 66 was shocking to me. I thought i had it. Going to just keep swinging at REG until it’s done. I’ve come too damn far to roll over. Any last minute tips are welcome. Im gonna do a little bit more review before bed and get good sleep for hopefully my last ever exam tomorrow. Let’s fucking finish this shit.
I’ll update this thread with my pass/fail and score in about 3 weeks.

I paid for CBA (California Board of Accountancy ) the fees for the FAR retake and selected the subject on CBA
Now I’m waiting for ATT from Nasba can I do anything to expedite or am I missing any step? I want to set for the exam next week
This is the first section I’ve taken and i don’t know how to feel… I’ve been studying using Gleim and scoring pretty well on the mocks. But the actual exam felt so much harder, especially the MCQs. The TSBs weren’t too bad though. For those who already took ISC, how did you score on the mock exams and how did they compare to your actual exam score?? Need some reassurance rn 😭

How should I structure my review? I haven’t taken my SIM exams yet which I will do one tomorrow. Any topics I should heavily emphasize in my review that you wish you would have looking back? Any ways to structure exam review?
Hi all,
if I applied for my NTS today, can I still schedule my exam for next year?
A confused future cpa

Hey all, I sit for reg in two weeks and just have business law left. I am so bored! I’m also burnt out because this is my last test. I guess I just need some other people to tell me to push through lol 😂

Hello Everyone!
Is anyone else seeing extremely limited availability at Prometric??? I usually book my exams 3-4 weeks in advance when I’m just reviewing material. My testing center one has 1 available appointment out of an entire month. I would go to another testing center but the next closest one is 2 hours away and also has only a couple appointments open. I’d rather wait to see if appointments open up at my location than going to the further one. Is it just limited during this time of year? I’m on my last exam and never have seen only one spot available.

Failed with 71 then 68. I’ve been hammering MCQs and TBSs. I’ve taken 2 exam sims this week. Scored 69% on each.
I’ve been studying about 5-6 hours a day since the 8th.
My entries are about 70-80% my average score in UWorld is 78% and 66% on Ninja. Took a ninja sim exam and scored 54%. I’ve never scored that low before.
What do you think?
Tbh, I’m of the belief that if I keep taking it I’ll pass it. Screw the $400

Hey everyone. I am exactly 16 days away from taking FAR, and I'm primarily using Ninja after going through Ninja notes and Becker MCQs for each section until I average ~80-90%. I covered all the topics for the test 3.5 weeks ago, and I've been doing random Ninja MCQ sets since.
My trending score topped out at ~70% about a week ago (while focusing on my weaknesses), and it has just been plummeting since I went back to cumulative random MCQs. This is killing my confidence, as the Ninja questions seem so niche and difficult. I have been mostly around 50-60% on random MCQs, but with some test sets, I average 80%, and my score will drop by 2%?!
Should I consider resetting my MCQ data to get a better benchmark/diagnosis for my current situation? Or should I trust the process and continue with ~50-60 (sometimes 100) MCQ/day?
I'd really appreciate any advice.
