I'm finally trying to get off of this drug with the help of my psychiatrist. We've reduced the medication 25mg per week starting at 125mg. Now I'm down to 25mg and I feel so exhausted when I wake up in the mornings. This started when I got down to 50mg last week and has only continued. Has anyone felt similarly? Why would I feel more tired tapering off this medication?

Is anyone else experiencing this and if so how do you deal with it?

I've been taking 25mg for a week now and its the same thing everyday. Take clozapine at night... sleep for 15 hours and then wake up extremely dizzy and light headed for hours on end, dont feel normal until basically the last 5 hours before I have to take it again. The sleepiness and oversleeping I can handle (have a high threshold for side effects, the bar is basically set at severe akathisia from almosf every other antipsychotic I've ever taken) but this dizzy lightheaded thing almost has a dysphoric depressive aspect to it.

My experience with clozapine has been pretty ok, I’m also taking Atenolol, metformin and fluvoxamine. But unlike what I’ve heard initially, no I don’t feel any drowsiness or feel like a zombie.
Ps. I take 100 mg clozapine

I have only taken medication for two days and I slept slept the whole day away.
Some of the side effects I’m getting is like my hands shake when I use my phone to text. I find it really hard to talk. It takes a lot of energy to talk. Also drooling so much it Wakes me up it’s so annoying.Anybody else have this thank you bye bye

I am schizoaffective bipolar type. I was on two antipsychotics Fanapt and Clozapine as well as Lithium. We switched the Fanapt to Latuda and are now trying to taper me off of Clozapine so that I'm just on Latuda and Lithium. Anyone have good stories of tapering off of Clozapine? I see a lot of bad stories on here.

I don't like fruits and veggies. Especially green ones like broccoli. I can eat banana, pumpkin, tomato, potato. I always crave sweets. But now I try to buy less of them. I switched to white bread and cheese but it does not make me full. Wheat bread feels dry to eat. I don't like overnight oats too. Also eat more rice compared before using clozapine. Also switched to no sugar juices but i think i should avoid them too. I walk 30 minutes every other day. But i am on my heaviest weight. My bmi is 28.6 now.

Has anyone had any experience with drooling, particularly at night? I'm on 325mg per day and every morning wake up in a puddle of drool. I take Kwells 3 times a day but it doesn't seem to make a difference. TIA

I have Bipolar 1 and my psychiatrist recently prescribed me a very low dose of clozapine (15 mg) mainly to help with sleep.
I haven’t started it yet because I’m a little nervous about it, especially the blood monitoring. For anyone who has taken clozapine at a low dose for sleep, what was your experience like? Did it actually help you sleep, and how sedating was it?
I’m especially curious about blood tests. Even at a dose this low, did your doctor have you do regular blood work? If so, how often?
Not looking for medical advice or whether I should take it, just interested in hearing other people’s experiences before I discuss my concerns with my doctor.

Hi, there! I currently take 200 mg of Clozapine, 1200 mg of ER Lithium, 200 mg of Lamotrigine and 20 mg of Vortioxetine.
That regimen makes me quite stable, but I sleep so much, and that leads to unproductivity, so I'd like to know if someone has an experience with taking Modafinil alongside.

Has anyone dealt with constipation on clozapine and did go away after treatment or did you have to be on laxatives long-term?
I am given Movicol to help with mine but I am wondering if it is long term or just while I'm adjusting to the med (3 months in).

My levels of clozapine are over 1000 and I keep hearing from others that an anti-seizure med is necessary when levels are this high. I have 3 doctors and so far two of them are clueless about anti-seizure meds while on clozapine.
I asked my doctors about it and they said I'll have to look that up.What should I do?
