I think what many people miss reading the sub is that many people that complain about some aspects also really like the game.
I'm not happy with the dungeon xp and think they are messing up pala tanks but I am also super hyped for launch and think overall they are doing a good job.

It's not the complaining or the feedback, it's the incredibly mean spirited snark style whining that many here have adopted as their means of giving feedback. It's unhelpful and incredibly annoying to read.

I hate how lazy the devs were with half the classes. Not even sure what the devs were thinking with ele and enhance. The did well with the mage trees. But they dropped the ball so hard with enhance that for the first time I probably won’t play it. Still excited to play the game and I like 90% of what they have done. Just not excited to play my favourite spec in the hopes that they make it fun to play at max level. Probably roll prot warrior.

you say that, but they constantly threaten to quit like anyone actually cares.

I don't complain that much, but I think it was entirely disingenuous to show the trailer at Blizzcon for WoW:F -- which made it seem like a game they had been working on for a long time and was close to what most would consider "launch-worthy" (considering the 2-months till launch from announcement).
What they gave us was not that.
You don't have to be blindly loyal to a video game IP, and when you feel scammed, it is important to voice that frustration.
That some people are fine with the mess they delivered was always going to be the case; it's wow after all. People just want to play a version of it that is actively being developed. It's a very low bar.
I think there also would have been less pushback if they hadn't charged people up to $80 for the experience of what was, when they released it, essentially, shovelware.
If they'd just released it in open beta and said "have fun, we're working on it," it would have felt like less of a scam.

Must be a human mage huh

I'm a human mage and I hate the existence of ice lance because it dumbs up the game

How do you get 1 word in a patch, it’s almost worse than 0 😭
3
u/Glittering_Emu2998 11h ago
Had to look it up because I was curious - the one word is presumably a single bullet point that's just "rogue".
It's followed by this:
Added map markers for the quest “Plundering the Plunderers”.
This is incorrectly not formatted as a sub-bullet point of "rogue", which is probably why it wasn't counted in the above table.

I'm gonna have to ask you to leave. If you aren't rage posting with AI about how much you hate wow forever you aren't welcome.

Careful you might be accused of having Toxic Positivity for enjoying the game...
Dont let them stop you from enjoying it imo

Overall it's still pretty great, that's a big part of what makes the smaller issues more glaring

u/Spirited_Biscotti523 7h ago
I do too, if they just added Northrend it would be PERFECT. Game to end all games.

I like it, too. I haven’t been this excited to play an mmo since Shadowbane. There’s so much pay -to-win slop out there. Wow forever is a refreshing step in the right direction. I will be taking a break from Magic the gathering to return to wow and play a mage. Overall, with the recent patch, I’m happy with the direction the class is heading. I’m endlessly amused by missile barrage, and all three specs are really coming along.

I do think it’s really great and I am going to have a lot of fun playing it.
Still think dungeon exp should be changed.

They don't even point out good things anymore, they just say this and look at yall like this

I don't care about any of the patches. I'm gonna RP my silly characters and have fun.

You're not allowed to like the game, you have to specifically say you hate 1-20+ things and that it's/they're ruining the game before it's out, and that the game will die in a year because of it/them specifically

The people providing feedback on things they believe could be improved also love the game too. They do it because they actually sincerely care about it, and want it to be the best it could be.
Critique isn't inherently bad or hateful. It's actually quite important and useful. It can be used to identify problematic areas (even if proposed solutions might not work)
2
u/ComprehensiveEast571 8h ago
I agree with you; I have my critiques and things I would like to be changed. Layering has been awful and is my biggest complaint. Constructive feedback is a great thing and something that will make a good game great.
I just think there has been a lot of whining, and it isn't constructive criticism a lot of the time, but rather adult temper tantrums, which is really embarrassing to witness.

u/afrothundah11 6h ago
I just hope blizzard only takes about 5% of feedback seriously because the large majority of takes here are short-sighted and will just steer the game into retail like they did the first time. The more they bend to the begging the more the game will become retail, that is the natural progression when players steer the process: homogenize everything and streamline everything in the name of balance and QoL. We’ve already done that for 20 yrs in retail, and it is clear that players do not know what is best for the game since nobody directly wants the game to be retail- but the requests would cause that. Devs with a deeper understanding of cause and effect should be deciding these things regardless of the tears.
Specific examples (of many):
every racial needs to be equal, now we are getting increasingly homogenized racials.
Every class wanting what other classes have and wanting every facet and every leveling bracket to be fully equal will take away the niches and class identity of each spec.
Wanting more xp from everything just pushes leveling closer to retail with each change made.
Every QoL improvement takes away needed friction that pushes people to work together
The list could be long but these alone have had hundreds of posts
It’s funny to see requests in 2026 that are the same as the ones made in vanilla, TBC, and wrath. If devs listen to them we it will be the same path.

L o l, yes it’s just critique. Give me a break
1
u/Fyvrynifl 6h ago
Sure. Take all the time you need buddy. Take a few deep breaths and if it helps look at how it was prolonged feedback and criticism that got companies to realize sometimes the players genuinely didn't like the direction the game went (e.g., Runescape 2 -> OSRS, WoW -> Classic WoW).
0
u/Left_Lettuce_8154 6h ago
Like I said, what I’m seeing is not criticism. If you can’t understand the difference I can’t help you.
1
u/Fyvrynifl 5h ago
I think you need a longer break. There's always going to be people being toxic, but to say there's nobody providing feedback is either really blind or troll.
0
u/iRDataNick 5h ago
Saying sharding is a corporate greed conspiracy and that the devs ran out of talent decades ago is not feedback, just so some of yall know

u/gubigubi 12h ago
I want to like it so bad but literally every single day I see anything new being added its only looking worse and worse.

u/Pale-Supermarket3217 11h ago
I can’t wait to see the new high level dungeons and the new raids and all the new loot. So friggin excited.
0
u/WitchyVeteran 11h ago
I'm rather excited as well. I definitely suck at dungeons, like I can't remember the last time I even did one, but I adore crafting and exploration. Retail for me wasn't fun, with the game forcing you onto the Dragon Isles and crafting being a giant ball of suck.
So I'm excited.

u/midasofsweden 11h ago
I've been playing the beta now for about a week just working on my addons and constantly getting sidetracked with new quests. I've really been enjoying it and i am not a retail player, My peak enjoyment was classic/tbc/wotlk. So far having a blast, im sure kinks will be worked, but it feels snappy and beautiful and more buttons to press while lving, and the roles for sure feel more refined, more gear variation etc.

u/Working_Complex8122 10h ago
Wish I could still see games like I used to when classic first released. Now I read patch notes and never get excited. All I immediately and automatically make out are all the issues that break the classes in anything resembling high-end content. Because I also know the community. It will be the same as in retail. If streamerfuckfacexx69xx did not put your spec in S tier or maybe A tier you can just forget about random groups.

u/Banthian 9h ago
The people complaining the hardest are the people you probably don't want to be playing with 🧠

I COULD like WoW Forever.
But the Devs are screwing it up. That's why many of us are being so noisy. We just don't want them to do this or that and we have less than 3 weeks to convince them.
1
u/ComprehensiveEast571 8h ago
You don't have less than 3 weeks to convince them. The game will be continually improved, and updates will be made. It's not like classic; changes and tweaks are numerous.

The problem is that the game can be 99% perfect, but people will spend months talking about that 1% instead of being grateful for the rest.
-1
u/SlySychoGamer 6h ago
The fact its a 20+ year old game, has a live version, a retro version, and now a reworked retro version, and none of them are free to play. And require you to pay to do 20+ year old virtual chores...
Ya nah, idc if its good or not, as an adult, on principle im not playing it, and i think any adults who do are nostalgia chasing sadders.

u/ggonishh 3h ago
Come on bro level up farm some prebis and check out the new hyjal raid. It's all new stuff in the original gameplay style, pretty cool.
•
u/cyb3rg0d5 3h ago
If it brings me the same joy as the real OG… and I’m talking about the first time release experience… I would gladly pay the subscription. I will however, NOT pay a bot infested gameplay, no matter how nostalgic I am for the “good ol times “.

Balance patches? Racial traits? Don't matter to me. What am I gonna do? Not play a dwarf? Are you insane!
