I'm a master's student based at Johanneberg, but I live near Lindholmen. I'm looking for study places on the Lindholmen side that are open later in the evenings and on weekends.

Kuggen closes early and isn't open on weekends, so I'm wondering if there are other buildings at Lindholmen that are accessible to students -especially those of us who are enrolled in courses at Johanneberg rather than Lindholmen.

Just a table and a plug port is enough.

At Johanneberg, several buildings stay open to students on weekends; is there anything similar at Lindholmen?

Hey guys, I'm planning to join chalmers for Ms in electrical power engineering. My priority is getting a job in core field. What are the chances for achieving it if I did well for my masters?

how long did it take you to get your residence permit card after doing your biometrics in sweden? they said up to 2 weeks but i’ve heard they normally get it within a week, if not earlier. did you have it delivered to your address or had to pick it up at the statens servicecenter?

I am an international student trying to get my documents ready to apply for an Msc in Lund, Chalmers or KTH.

I noticed my Mathematics ECTS may be slightly short after conversion despite being an engineering heavy degree. The HOD of the department at Chalmers also stated my course is a perfect fit for the program, the only issue is this ECTS conversion.

How can I quickly make up for these ECTS in mathematics ( a solution I can hopefully do in a month or two tops so I can still apply this year)?

Is the re-examination only for those who failed the exam or can students who passed the exam can also take it to improve their grades?

Hi everyone!, I'm aware that Chalmers is the absolute goldmine for Scandinavian Robotic Sciences. But I'm trying to create a startup in Oil and Gas Industry (Huge family and network background) , something which would be based within Norway, I'm living a bit close to Gothenberg, around 2 hours away, and I'm a American Exchange student. However, I'm going to be here until next August. I've always been into Oil and Gas, and even lived in Stavanger once. And, Frankly - I don't want to leave this region.

I'm looking for someone who's in robotics, and someone else who's into

Robotics - maybe something Mechatronics, Frontier Industrial robotics tech, Subsea Tech someone with coding is a huge plus

Since I am not physically located in Goteborg right now, what is the best way to get in touch with Chalmers students who are actually hungry to build frontier industrial tech outside of class? Are there specific student organizations, Discord servers, or sub-groups I should look into?

Jag undrar hur många HP som är vanligt att ha efter sig inför ansökan till kandidatarbeten. Ligger man risigt till i urvalsprocessen om man saknar ca. 10 % (räknar med att ha 118.5/135) av det sammanlagda antalet HP man har om man har klarat alla kurser dittills? Jag tror inte att de arbeten som jag kommer ordna högst kommer att vara särskilt populära, men samtidigt är jag rädd att någon som har satt det långt ned på sin lista ändå kommer konkurrera ut mig för att han eller hon har fler HP.

Hej! Jag är 19m och har just nu tagit ett sabbatsår. Under året har jag funderat mycket på vad jag vill plugga.

Jag överväger att läsa ett tekniskt basår och därefter fortsätta till civilingenjörsprogrammet Arkitektur och teknik på Chalmers, vilket skulle ta ungefär sex år totalt. Ett annat alternativ är samhällsplaneringsprogrammet på Stockholms universitet, som tar tre år.

Jag är tveksam eftersom det känns som en lång utbildningsväg, och jag funderar även på hur stor CSN-skulden skulle bli efteråt.

I've done my best to stay away from generative AI because I have noticed I learn much better and remember hard topics for longer if I do. However, one idea I have thought of implementing is doing projects with generative AI just to get submissions done fast and so I don't need to carry the stress of submitting projects in time. Instead I spend the remaining time resolving the projects on my own. Hence, if I don't finish in time, I have a ready made solution but I have still spent almost the same amount time studying had I not used the AI at all.

Am I tricking myself into thinking I am still learning as efficiently or do you have another approach?

How do you structure your studying schedule when doing two math courses in parallel? Suppose you had a week of no lectures, would you focus on one course per day or do you for instance do both the same day at separate times? I haven't really figured out what works for me but it would be nice to get some inspiration.

Är det någon som vet ungefär vilken merit/GPA som brukar krävas för utbyte till universitet i Singapore, Taiwan, Japan eller Sydkorea? Typ skolor som NUS, NTU, KAIST, SNU osv. Räcker det med “vanliga” betyg eller behöver man ligga riktigt högt i klassen? Och vilka konkurrerar man med? är de dem i ens klass eller alla i chalmers som söker till de utbytet?

Om någon har varit på utbyte dit eller känner någon som varit det hade det varit kul att höra vilka betyg de hade ungefär.

does anyone know what the limitations are on the Chalmers insurance for exchange students? I’m from the U.S. and was wondering if it’s possible to take advantage of healthcare while i’m here and book a few appointments with different providers, like an eye doctor or therapist, or if the insurance only covers certain clinics/services through Chalmers.

i already found out that contact lenses are way cheaper here, so I’m definitely taking advantage of that. if anyone knows of any other healthcare, chiropractor, vision, therapy, etc. that’s covered or just significantly cheaper in Sweden and worth doing while i’m here, i’d really appreciate any recommendations!

Hi I’m an exchange student coming to Chalmers next year in Jan ! I’m just wondering how’s the pickleball scene at Gothenburg and where can I play pickleball ?

I saw some arenas where there are pickleball courts but I’m wondering if there are platforms where I can join open plays ? Or is there a pickleball club at Chalmers/ students playing there that I can join.

Really looking forward to exchange, but I hope I can still play pickleball.

Jag har tittat på listan som har bifogats och det är tydligt att vissa ”godkända” miniräknare är bättre än andra. Vissa har automatiska solvers för ekvationer osv. och alla ska vara godkända så länge de är i de specificerade modelserierna och saknar grafritare. Kommer man få problem med tentavakterna med vissa modeller? Några råd för att göra livet lite lättare? Har tittat på t.ex Ti30X Pro Mathprint.

Jag och några polare på IT vill bygga något som faktiskt underlättar vardagen för oss på Chalmers, till exempel när man behöver låna någon pryl eller vill ha hjälp med en programmeringsuppgift, men inte känner någon att fråga. Jag har stört mig på det här själv och vill försöka hitta en bra lösning tillsammans med er.

Men istället för att gissa vad folk behöver vill vi höra vad ni tycker först.

I (F23) have a very very close friend (F24) that just moved to Gothenburg to study in Chalmers for her second year masters, she is the very best, great friend, SO FUNNY (she used to be a clown even [great conversation starter]), super social, extremely inteligent, a great cook and just an amazing company.

but she has no friends

No one to talk to about her crazy yet so interesting questions about science about the world about someone's research (she's a [phenomenal] physicist) or literally any topic. No one to grab one (too many) beers or drinks and have a great time. No one to walk around in campus with, invite her out or to do literally whatever (big side quest girl) and so im here to try to find her some friends because now she lives there and im in france and I wanted to do something nice.

So if you are a woman, a queer person or even a man (if decent) please be her friend or at least hang out with her.
