Question What the hell happened?

Hi, I was replaying chapter 6 B-side for fun and clipped this near the end of the chapter, I thought I maybe missed something but then I watched it back. Does anybody know what happened? the feather completely skips the wind up animation and I immediately crash into a wall (none of the other feathers did this). But then it doesn't ever do it again. Did I just discover new tech? or is this something I don't know about? I'm so confused lol

Question Advanced Maps WITHOUT Jellyfish Mechanics?

Or, more specifically, without super quick grab/release mechanics. I use toggle grab because of hand pain, and mechanics like that are super annoying to do with it. I've been playing Strawberry Jam and got through most of the green/yellow maps without those mechanics, but sooo many have them, which gets rid of a lot of the maps on there.

(Higher difficulty maps can be suggested too, since maybe I'll get there one day, and from the little I've seen, a lot of higher difficulty maps have the same issue.)

Thank you in advance!

(edit: I actually meant intermediate maps uhh oops)

Achievement (modded) After 102 hours I finally full cleared the Solar Purgatory as my 5th ever hist map as a jump from GMHS, its over!

• Upvotes

I can't believe its finally done, i originally wanted this to be my end goal for the game, but decided to be like eh whatever lets just go for it, and started it pretty much right after beating GMHS, overall this was an incredible experience, there are no words to describe it, huge thanks to Zheo for creating this masterpiece, 38 Q3 entries and 4 Q4 entries later, 70 whole hours on 1 screen... feel free to ask any questions i'd love to answer them all!

Clip (modded) You should play Ricochet!

I can't believe I went so long without knowing about this map. Lots of really cool screens, especially so since pretty much everything is vanilla. IMO, the difficulty is around green advanced for the A-side and yellow expert for the B-side (or, if you ask goopvendor, "Hey That's Not Too Bad!" and "Oof That's A Doozy"). The attached clip is from the B-side.

Go play it here!

Post image
73 Upvotes

This week, I've uploaded my first Celeste mod! It replaces the strawberries with the cutest sharks on the planet, the blåhaj.

You can download the mod directly on Olympus or check the Gamebanana page, where you can read a bit more about it and the updates I am planning to add. Any feedback or questions are greatly appreciated :D.

Question What's a reason to do a feather super instead of a regular super?

I feel like you could usually dash out of the feather and do a regular super. To put it another way, how might a custom map force players to do fupers? I'm particularly interested in cassoosted fupers (why not dash out of the feather and do a cassoosted super), but I figure the answer is similar for general fupers.

Edit: The first answer that comes to mind is Core mode, since you can't extend a super, but what about non-Core maps?

Question Need help in chapter 7 please Spoiler

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I'm doing my first playthrough on Celeste and encountered this one specific jump in Chapter 7 that is absolutely destroying me. Normally I don't ask for help in games like this but I genuinely think this one jump has gotten me maybe over 100 times by now. I was wondering if any veterans had any tips or if I'm just making my life substantially harder or something and don't need to go this way in the first place.

Question Why am I losing momentum?

I did a frame-by-frame comparison of of I'm doing with a video of someone doing it successfully. We both have the same initial speed, we both "walk" along the platforms, and we both jump off around the same time. I've been studying this for 30 minutes. What am I doing wrong?

Achievement (modded) Finally finished the advanced lobby!

Took a big break when I just had synapse, tower (XVI), and starlight station left to do. I got a little frustrated on the second last screen of synapse but I breezed through it upon coming back and then just had to crawl through the tower and experience the beautiful flowing chaos of starlight station before finishing off with mango mesa. Dusk city was probably my favourite map although there were so many I loved in this lobby (skateboard go brrr), and the only ones that particularly frustrated me ended up being belated valentines, the tower fakeout, and parts of synapse. Overall it was an awesome lobby, and I am looking forward to expert! (On a side note this lobby has destroyed my perception of the base game difficulty, I was doing consecutive 7C goldens to chill out between harder mango mesa screens)

Clip (modded) After 17hrs and like 25k deaths I FINALLY cleared the hardest screen i've ever attempted!

I did it!!!

The level is MOCE // CPVL and the difficulty sits at Yellow GM+1 - By far the longest i've ever spent on a single screen to this date. Insane grind, but its so so much fun.

Time to clear heart room and finish this level off, but felt like posting this here before I do. So proud of this
