Commercial The Clean Up
So this was a few years ago, around 2019. At my previous job we had several IDFs on multiple floors that were an absolute mess. Cables ran from both sides blocking things like the fan module or power supplies. No color coding or any sort of semblance in the rack. My coworker and I pulled every single cable out, replaced the old 4500 with 2 stacks of 9300s and rewired everything. We did this over the course of a weekend and had everything ready for Monday morning. The bottom stack of 9300's are actually mounted upside down so the cables flow the opposite way and do not cover the fiber module. A bit unorthodox I know, but it worked really well in this case. A few things that make this more manageable was the fact that floor jacks were numbered to the corresponding switch (think floor jack 4-23 goes to switch 4 port 23) and the racks were designed with cable management in mind. Wish I had a pic without the cable covers on but regardless it turned out nice in the end.
I have a complete mess on my hands at my current job. Multiple Datacenters, IDFs, MDFs, etc all looking like a tornado came through. I'll post pics on those in due time
