Other Ramin Karimloo / Samuel Wyn-Morris cast schedule for Shanghai?

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if there’s a cast schedule or rota for the 40th Anniversary Shanghai run of Phantom?I’m looking at tickets for November 10 and would really love to see Ramin Karimloo. Is there any way to find out whether Ramin or Samuel Wyn-Morris is scheduled as the Phantom for that performance?I haven’t been able to find a performance-by-performance cast schedule anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would love to see everyone’s music box or collection of POTO swag. These are just my music boxes. In my other room I have a ton of merch I purchased from Broadway when I went. I wish the UK site would ship to America, I had no idea there was a Christine bear (and my Phantom needs her) would also love to get the program from the anniversary. I know I am missing a lot of the smaller SF Music Box items, and will get them eventually.

That mask on the second shelf is a copy of Paul Stanley’s that I purchased from Studio D FX.

(Yes, I collect vintage Barbie as well, I couldn’t crop them out without losing some of my curio.)

I don’t want to sell, but am thinking of options to raise up my savings, and if these have become as rare as I think they are, I feel like I should start considering it.

Hey there,

I am writing here in utter despair at this point, because I've been on the hunt for the licensed Phantom music boxes for a year now. Whenever it is back in stock, it does not ship to Hungary, where I live, and I cannot use an alternative address.

Tho I doubt anyone would be willing to part with theirs, in case you would sell it/have a spare one/heck even if you even have a broken one and you'd be up for selling it, please reach out to me!

It is these two that I am interested in only.

Thank you so much for any recommendation or help!

Well… I’m officially broke now. 😭😂 I’ve booked Grand Circle Row A VIP for November. I just couldn’t resist the VIP experience!

My total Phantom spending is now £816.50… my wallet is singing “Think of Me” in distress. 💸🎭

Have I completely lost the plot? 👻🌹

Theory Why do you like PotO?

More than just that the ALW sounds nice. Why do you like it on a personal, visceral, ineffable level?

Why does the mythos of Phantom resonate with your soul???

Answers will be used to help understand myself better.

So………what are your opinions?

My Christmas gift each year is a season ticket to a regional theatre, and they’re doing the show.

I’ve been a fan of ALW’s for over 20 years. Am I going to like this one?

Discussion Box 5 demo singer

Who is the person singing in the Box 5 demo- they aren’t credited and I admit I’ve never heard ALW’s singing voice but it doesn’t sound like him to me. Is it Richard Stilgoe since he was originally the lyricist before Charles Hart?

The Phantom & Christine need 283 more supporters to reach 1,000, which is my next milestone

If you like my idea, just as much as I loved creating it, please go and show it some love.

Discussion Who sings “Box Five” and where is it set?

Hi all! I’ve been listening to the phantom 2026 mix and listened to the demo which is Box 5, I do believe it was in pre-west end previews before it got cut but who is it that sings it?

I thought it was Raoul singing because it kinda sounds like him.

But I don’t know where the song is placed, I thought it was after stranger than you dreamt it but I have no idea where so discuss where you think it is in the show!

Discussion The 2011 Royal Albert Hall recording

Does anyone else think the 2011 Royal Albert Hall proshot recording perfection? Ramin and Sierra together have this hypnotic chemistry that seems to perfectly encapsulate their characters and connections; their voices are so hauntingly beautiful, too.

Discussion Alt-Christine changes on the current US tour?

Earlier in the US tour, Christine "at certain performances" (i.e., the scheduled alternate) was Alexa Xioufaridou Moster and the two Christine understudies were Alyssa Giannetti and Evelyn Mê-Linh. I happened to look at the online playbills for San Jose and Las Vegas, and interestingly, while Alexa Moster is still the only alt mentioned on the main credits page, the cast list page now has both Alexa Moster and Alyssa Giannetti as Christine "at certain performances" with scheduled dates, and Alyssa Giannetti is also still listed as one of the understudies. The Vegas playbill has Alyssa Giannetti scheduled for more dates than Alexa Moster.

This is the first time I've paid this close attention to a tour, so: is this common? Uncommon? Any insights into what (if anything) is going on?

I am not sure the rules on AI here, but they are using it ONLY for temp and proof of concept and hope to one day hire a full cast. This Erik song contemplating the afterlife is solid. Feel free to take down if AI videos aren't allowed but def give this track a listen if you're curious! "Not Meant for Heaven"

Other One reason I appreciate the 2004 movie

Okay, I’m a little drunk writing this, but hear me out…
I’ve always been really into classical music, drama, theatre, and the performing arts more broadly. That’s not to say I don’t appreciate modern art forms or mediums. My taste is pretty varied, and I enjoy seeing older forms of art reinterpreted, revitalized, and expressed in new ways.
I was born in 2004, and I grew up watching The Phantom of the Opera (2004). I think Emmy Rossum is an actress who holds a particularly special place in the hearts of a lot of people in my generation, especially those of us who grew up watching her in Shameless.

I understand that her vocal technique and overall performance might not necessarily stand alongside the greatest interpretations of Christine by more traditionally trained performers. But I also think there’s something to be said for the fact that so many of us grew up loving that movie. It has its flaws, obviously, but there’s a certain campiness and atmosphere to it that makes it memorable in its own right.

Anyway, this Halloween, I’m planning to dress up as the Phantom, with a close female friend of mine as Christine. When I mentioned our costume plans to coworkers and friends, so many of them immediately lit up at the idea. They started talking about how much they loved the 2004 movie growing up and how excited they were to see the costumes. A lot of these people also love live theatre or have a general appreciation for live performance.
Obviously, I’m not suggesting that The Phantom of the Opera (2004) is the origin point of our generation’s appreciation for live theatre. But I do think it’s interesting to consider how much of an impact a single film can have on the way people engage with an entire art form. For a lot of us, that movie may have been an early introduction to operatic singing, theatrical conventions, grand stage aesthetics, and the heightened emotional language of musical theatre.

i wonder how many people who now appreciate live theatre, musical performance, or opera first developed that interest through a film like this, rather than through an actual stage production.

I still show the 2004 movie to friends every now and then, and they almost always end up loving it too.

Discussion 2028 UK Tour?

How likely is a Phantom UK tour in 2028? At the moment it seems rooted at His Majesty’s but I was just remembering the pattern around the 25th anniversary:

A pro-shot at the Royal Albert Hall for the 2011 anniversary followed by a cinema and DVD release.

A 2012 UK tour of a restaged production. Although it wasn’t as good as the West End version I thought the design was quite a clever way of fitting similar visuals into a variety of venues.

A North American tour of the same restaged production (complete with the rotating barrel set piece)

2020 was to see a further tour much closer to the original but COVID intervened and both the tour and the original were cancelled. While His Majesty’s was shut some of the original West End set pieces were removed and replaced by equivalents from the touring production.

Fast forward to 2026 and North America has received a touring production broadly the same as the intended UK tour/current West End production.

We similarly have an anniversary proshot for cinema and DVD/Blu Ray release scheduled for 2027. The international release of that proshot will similarly serve as an advert for the West End show and the US tour will have finished so in the interest of fully milking the cash-cow and touring all previous territories, is there a case that the US touring production could then transfer to the UK?

Discussion How likely that understudies do matinees

So I was at the 10th October show, the night after the gala, and Jordan Donica's phantom has honestly broken me. I'm now weighing up going back to see a matinee (day trip, save on hotel) but how often do the principles do matinees and how often is it the understudies? Obv there's always a chance the understudy will come on and I'm sure they are brilliant but I want to take a friend so she can experience Jordan and Bea. Does anyone know if there's a higher than average chance that the main two won't be performing? Thanks!

Other Should I go for a sixth Phantom visit? 👻🌹

I've spent £674 on five visits to The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty's Theatre!

  1. Stalls E— £175

  2. Royal Circle C — £185

  3. Grand Circle G — £125

  4. Balcony B — £39

  5. Royal Circle D — £150

Now I'm tempted to go for a sixth visit, possibly with a VIP package!

Should I do it? 🎭
