Given that I already have a Vespid Prime set, is there any point in buying an Arles Prime set? (for fiction)
As I said.

So on the Blackmagic cam iOS app, I had recorded several long videos. My phone filled up on storage, and I realized I was saving to my photos and the app. So I deleted all the videos in the app, but kept the ones in photos. But for some reason, the storage space that was said to be taken up by Blackmagic cam, under “applications”, has now all somehow transferred to the photos app. Before, the photos app and applications were taking up about half each of my total storage space, but now all of that space combined is now taken up by the photos app. Does anyone know what is happening, and how I can fix it?

Trying to let go of my BMPCC 6k pro along with a few lenses for a really good number.

I’m aware of all the functional differences between these cameras like the lack of the screen in the Micro, the lack of the full size HDMI in the pocket, and many more.
However, one difference in very curious is the image. I’m aware that they have the same sensor, and that they both shoot in cinema DNG—that’s why I’ve been looking into both of them. But cameras with the same sensor and codecs can have differences in their images, and I recently heard somebody say they think they might slightly prefer the image on the Pocket.
What do you guys think? Is there any difference at all? And if there is, which do you all prefer?
Thanks!

Here is the link, I'm just wondering if it will work, as I am pretty broke. If not, which budget options do you recommend? I don't need anything fancy, no displays or anything, just a battery.

My favorite part is the 4TB SSD.
Coming from an FX3, and in love with the images that this sensor renders. Lowlight is a bit of pain, but can always work around it.

I love how much flexilibilty I have for coloring but damn the I hate how soft the images are.
I have a sigma 18-35mm paired with a metabones speedbooster .71.
I even rotated the glass in the speedbooster to find the sharpest image but just so damn soft.
On that note, I noticed that most people's p4k shots are soft as well.
Is softness just the profile that the bmpcc4k has?

I am doing a documentary series with the OG BMPCC 6k. I have a pair of DJI 1 mics and a shotgun mic. If I have the shotgun mic in one channel do I have to do Mono for the DJI mics in the other channel? What if I did stereo what would happen since there’s only two channels in the BMPCC 6k? Or do you guys just switch from double shotgun mic channels to wireless receivers depending on what you’re doing? What is the best way to do this or your solutions/experience?

Currently my A-cam is the Ursa Mini Pro 12K / B-cam is the BMPCC 6K. I want a smaller B-cam so I can run it on a gimbal when necessary so I just held onto my BMPCC 6K. I come from a photography background so have all EF lenses but just started building out DZO Vespid II lens kit starting with the 18, 35, and 50 lenses. Should be here tomorrow.
I have the PL mount for the Ursa Mini Pro 12K (need to install it) so I figured I can use my Vespids on the UMP12K but can't seem to find an effective way to use the Vespid IIs on the BMPCC if I want to multicam or gimbal with it. Seems like the original had replaceable mounts but the Vespid II doesn't and there are no legitimate PL to EF adapters that seem to have good reviews.
Do I need to just sell my P6K and get the BMCC 6K FF with the L mount and get the PL mount adapter? But then I can't use any of my EF lenses on that. I'm trying to find the best solution. I'd still love to be able to use my 70-200 f/2.8L IS II (EF mount) along with the Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 from time to time. Plan on selling my Sigma 18-35 Art and my Canon 135L. Keeping my Sigma 35 and 50 Art for photography.
If anyone has advice on how to work around this I'd appreciate it.

I try to make it simple a grab and go. I is heavy but worth it. I used the OG bmpcc to record this disregard the noise.

I have a relatively new to me BMCC 2.5K. I have a top handle on it, with a monitor attached to that. Currently, the monitor sticks out a little too far. I would love to get it as close to the top handle as possible, keeping it as low profile as possible. Does anyone have any recommendations for a really low profile monitor mount?
Edit: and yes, I know that the monitor itself is pretty big. I do plan on replacing it with a smaller one

I can get a great deal on a set of Meike s35 EF prime lenses (5 lenses total). I currently use a BMPCC4K with a Metabones speedbooster. Is this set of lenses worth it? They're not full frame, so I'm worried if I ever upgrade to a full frame camera they'll be useless and difficult to sell considering EF lenses are being phased out. Will there always be a market for these lenses for low budget filmmakers, or will these be pointless in a few years?

So I dropped my BMPCC 6k pro while on shoot in the woods… does anyone know if this has a repair? Can Blackmagic support help me? The lcd is dead, the camera itself seems to be working fine.

I have three original Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro cameras, each connected to its own Studio Converter over the 10G Ethernet/PoE connection, and I’m trying to figure out why I can’t get tally working on any of them.
Everything else seems to work correctly:
But I can’t get the tally lights to do anything.
Test #1: Holding CALL on the Studio Converter does not flash the tally light on the connected camera.
Test #2: I set the Studio Converter to Analog Tally → Contact Closure and tried directly closing DB9 pins 8 and 9 (Red Tally / Red Tally Ground). Nothing happens.
Same behavior across all three camera/converter pairs.
One potentially relevant detail: I’m not using an ATEM. The CAMERA OUT SDI from each Studio Converter goes directly into a capture card. Because of that, the Studio Converters normally show STANDBY. Return video is connected separately and works.
My understanding is that being in Standby shouldn’t prevent either the CALL button or the analog contact-closure tally from working, but maybe I’m missing something.
Has anyone used this combination successfully? Is there another setting required somewhere on the camera or Studio Converter to enable tally over the 10G connection?

I've been shooting film and street photography for about 3 years, and recently I've wanted to start shooting video too. I don't do commercial work. I just want to walk around the city and capture interesting or pretty moments.
I picked up a Video8 camcorder about a year ago. I love the look of the footage since it looks retro and vhs like, but I was originally drawn to film video, and the cost is the problem. Developing is crazy expensive, Super 8 is cheaper but doesn't scratch the itch the way the footage I've seen does, and real 16mm is just too pricey.
I've always loved the 16mm look, so I started researching digital cameras that emulate it well. These two have stood out:
the OG: Cheaper up front, which is what first drew me in. But it seems like a pain to use, and you have to rig it out a lot to make it usable. Once you add the necessary accessories, I wonder if the total cost gets close to the micro.
the micro: More expensive, but it seems to have far fewer usability issues.
I've looked at other cameras too (the Canon EOS M looks great, for example), but it's still not quite the 16mm look I'm after. Faithful 16mm emulation is really what matters most to me.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? I'm primarily a photographer, not a videographer, but I really love the 16mm film look. Any advice on which way to go, or other options I should consider? I am not super keen on having a huge set up as someone who is mostly a photographer and does street, but wouldn't also mind some heft if the footage is worth it.

Hey,
I'll be honest, when it comes to power I'm a total noob. I bought this dummy battery https://www.amazon.es/dp/B07L9VXSR4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 to pair with a smallrig NP-F plate. When I turn it off, the voltage drops quickly and the camera stays on for less than 4 minutes. I know it's a cheap dummy, would buying a better one fix it? If so, which ones are working well for you? Thanks.

Procured a BMPCC6K G1 - newish to colour grading - currently filming in log not raw. Working my way through the BMD colour grading tutorials. If you don't want to go through balance, contrast etc to speed things up, are folks in the habit of adding a LUT and then adding a node-in-serial to make tweaks on top of the LUT layer? Is that a common time saver?
I could see for really important projects doing all the nodes and each and every step but for something quick and dirty with a tight turnaround....
