I tried to cling on as long as I could. We have two young kids. Grocery shopping at an insanely high priced store like Publix, along with meal planning, is a nightmare for us. Blue apron was the only company for over three years who could deliver on time and get a box to our door before dinner.
I know everyone is aware of the food supply issue due to their supplier filing for bankruptcy. But I have another thought that might be an unpopular opinion:
It’s not the food. It’s the logistics. It’s the absolute nightmare clown show they use for their packing and shipping.
Today, after our meals were “out for delivery” for over 11 - Eleven - f-ing hours - our food was not only late, it leaked and got soggy enough that the plastic tore away from the cardboard boxes and our food spilled everywhere.
I have tried to make excuses for this company, tried to “stick with it”, not because I’m trying to put myself through hell, but because I’m trying to see if these absolute jagoffs can make this service work. This is mostly on me.
They cannot. They just can’t do it.
We should all get together and write a book about how this once dependable, gold standard food delivery service went down like the Zeppelin. I want MBA students to study what happened and warn the future CEOs of America.
Good luck my fellow disappointed chefs ✌️
