Please keep discussion of Med happenings to posts about Med. Some people felt they needed to take a break with all of the Nathan discussion so it will be nice to keep these posts trigger free for them.

The below deck crew are all new to the boat so they don't know the owner and their family. The catch is the owners and family are improv actors and the below deck crew aren't in on it.
They are travelling from the med to the Caribbean doing the trans Atlantic crossing so they're stuck together for 1 month.
But they're not entirely isolated. They're doing the crossing with the ARC rally. The arc rally occurs every year when yachts gather to form a convoy so they cross the Atlantic together safely and is sort of an unofficial race.
I have heard this from people before ( had a roommate with a peanut allergy say he couldn’t have any Thai food) and makes we wonder if people think Thai food is just Pad Thai??
There are sooo many dishes that have zero nuts in them.
Obviously coconut is I’m very common but that’s not considered a tree nut.
I would argue American food has much more nuts, peanuts especially, than Thai food. In terms of oil I have no idea.
So far the boat seems problematic, not starting and several references to its old age. Q:if you are out to sea and the compressed air tank is empty after 3 starts, do you refill with a compressor? Do you need someone to bring a new tank?
Sandy’s boat “Home” is the undefeated Below Deck/Med loser boat champ because of A/C causing stabilizer failure from its hybrid engine design.
Just started the season and imagine my surprise that the first charter guest was one of the first travel “influencers” I used to follow back in 2019 (subscribed to her newsletter and everything!)
I found it interesting that she used her peanut allergy as the reason why they have never travelled to Thailand and that this was the only way they could made it happen - being on a yacht.
It was interesting to me because the only reason I found her in 2019 was because she traveled to Bali and I was just planning a trip there for my birthday at the time. Balinese/Indonesian cultures also heavily involve peanuts in their cuisine as well but for that trip she had stayed in an Airbnb/resort (I admittedly can’t recall but I know it wasn’t a yacht!)
Not accusing her of anything at all (who knows, I’ve heard of mothers becoming allergic to things after pregnancy, crazier things have happened) but this kind of sheds some light, I think, on how much of the show is “fake” or sensationalized lol.
I'm relatively new to the BD universe, I got hooked because of some recap podcasts.
I watched a few recent seasons of Med and all of Down Under. Recently I jumped all the way back to OG below deck S1 and am now on S4 (don't ask why I'm jumping around...i don't know why.)
When does Chef Ben change?? I was stunned watching him in these early seasons..he's still combative and contrary, but overall he seems pretty kind and friendly and doesnt come out of the gate as an asshole.
Somehow in S4 of Down Under he starts fighting with Daisy and other staff on day 1??
Was there something besides his failed engagement that caused his change?
Did anyone else notice the packets of Reese's bars that were brought into the kitchen with the new provisions? Earlier they'd had to remove everything containing peanuts!
He has the most beautiful 😍 brown eyes I’ve ever seen!!!! His are lighter than mine but I remember growing up and never feeling good bc my friends had blue or green or a mix of both colored eyes. So never got a compliment untillllll a new friend said my eyes look like doe eyes and honey eyes. But Moe literally has that exact description!!! Light eyes are always complemented/striking to ppl so it’s cool to see such unique brown eyes!
He also seems cool too as a person and an amazing chef! But it’s been one episode so who knows what will happen!
*sidenote Gaston and Taylor from southern charm(sheps ex) is the first guests??!!! Haha very much shows that the guests are often more likely wanting to become famous and/or agree to bring drama.
Does anyone know what is in the spray bottles that stews use on the beds? Is it some type of fabreeze or freshener? I have always been curious about this.
Had to run to the grocery store near my house this morning to grab a few things. Took longer than I wanted and it was nearing 1PM (I was hoping to be home by kickoff for my NFL team at 1) so I was focused more on the time than anything. As I'm just pushing my cart away from the register, a familiar-looking lady walks in talking to another woman but I can't quite place the face (I'm notorious for this, mind you...long story). As we pass, she notices me looking at her and apparently looking like I recognize her and she smiles and says hi. Figuring it WAS somebody I knew but not thinking of a name, I just said "hey! how are you?" and she gives a friendly "I'm good, thanks!!". I take a few more steps and it hits me and I literally stop in my tracks....holy crap that was Capt Sandy and Leah!! I'm not the selfie-and-autograph type so I just went on my merry way. I believe they live outside of Jacksonville and I'm 2 hours away from there, so not sure what they were doing in my neck of the woods. I immediately called my wife who normally does the grocery shopping (I got fired from grocery shopping years ago because I spend too much 😔) but she is visiting her sister in another state this weekend.
So unfortunately I have no pics to share....no autograph to share....and no meaningful conversation to share. But I usually don't recognize celebrities until somebody tells me "did you see who that was?!?!" so I'm proud of myself for actually recognizing someone, albeit delayed recognition!
I've been watching on a Below Deck binge this weekend. I noticed for the past few seasons they've been blurring out watch faces. Crew and guests, doesn't matter the type of watch - it seems the watch faces are blurred out. Any idea why? I feel like I missed something.
Anyone know where the cast of below deck season 8 are now? I wish there was updates on all the past seasons. I dont have social media so can't check theirs instas
Kat has been the most green flag new stew I’ve ever watched. The way she handled Gen, put in hard work, and called things (albeit incredibly late) with Coop over was really a nice change of pace over the self-destructive attitudes and behaviours a lot of new stews have
I feel like I haven’t seen or heard anyone talking about Nathan Promoting Gael on deck instead of Joe because he was sweet on her and that’s when the friction between Joe and her started
