General Question Is Oct 23rd really the final cutoff for returns during Venus retrograde or is it Nov 14th?

I've been seeing completely contradictory advice all over social media about Venus retrograde and exes.
On one hand, I'm seeing posts claiming that October 23rd is a hard deadline if your ex or friend doesn't come back to reconcile by then, it's completely over. But on the other hand, I'm seeing warnings that anyone who reconciles before November 14th is doomed to fail, and that you shouldn't even reach out or entertain a return until after the retrograde period wraps up. Which one is it? Or when should you/they reach out?

Discussion What could be one of the most difficult moon placements to have?

I have read a lot of information saying that 6,8,12th house moon placements are extremely difficult to have but I’m curious to know more depth on it. Which signs in those houses could make it harder? And also aspects? How does having a day chart vs a night chart change its expression?

General Question What common placements do you see from popular social media influencers?

Would their 3rd house be a bit more prominent compared to others? Possibly filled with benefics and somehow having an aspect or exchange with their 10th house/house lord or MC?

It’s so simple to become an influencer these days, as really anyone can do it, and so I’ve started to wonder if a lot of these people have pretty common planetary conjuncts and/or aspects.

Maybe mercury conjunct their 10th lord and placed in the 3rd house could be one?

Technique Question what kind of chart would i cast for a big change in personality?

So in late 2023 and 2024 i basically had a huge mental breakdown and change in personality. it was not fun and I'm still dealing with the after effects. i believe it's bc pluto was entering my 11h where i have mars and neptune conjunct (or it should've i'd have to look at specific dates for that sign change). would a solar return chart show this or profection year? i just don't know if transits are the only thing that explain it.

Discussion What exactly is an opposition aspect in hellenistic astrology?

Too many sources either define opposition as if it was a square (obstruction, difficulty, trouble), or too much like a trine (opportunities, harmony).

I don't get it. What exactly is an opposition, according to the classical theory?

I've looked in Brennan's 'Hellenistic Astrology' book, searching for 'opposition' in both the contents and index and it's not even there. Unbelievable.

Technique Question Solar returns rooted place

Hi guys,

Just getting into solar astrology and I’m so confused about the location to root my solar return to. Will it be for my birth place or where I am at the moment?

In my case I have been living in a different country/ place from my birth place for the past 9 years (for study it’s not permanent yet) and I’m unsure where to root it too.

I hear different things; some people root it to their actual birth charts, some travel just so their return is rooted to the place they’re at on their birthday

Thank you for any help guys

General Question which house system should I use and birth time question

so I've heard that placidus is an inaccurate house system but that's what I've been using all this time so it'd be nice to see which one I should use instead

I also have a bit of a problem with figuring out my exact birth time. My parents said I was born at 2 pm but it could be a few (like 5 or 10 minutes) to like a big(30,40 minutes) variation bc they most likely just generalised the birth time, I was born around 2 pm and I could just put that in but there's a high chance it could've been a few minutes before or after. what should I do about this and what changes does one even see if there's a change in a few minutes. Is a few minutes even gonna be significant?

any answers would be appreciated thnx

General Question I'm not sure about my ascendant sign!

Idk if it's Aries or Leo! Somebody help me I'm overthinking it😭

Edit: I think I'm more Leo rising since I've read information about this chart where I'm Leo rising than Aries rising and be more accurate. + The time of my birth is morning and I estimated 8-9 am. But 8:00 , 8:30 and 9:00 am have different degrees for each rising and I'm assuming for other planets as well. And I'm concerned which one to choose?

Discussion What is the actual meaning behind the North Node?

No other aspect of astrology I ever learnt about seems so controversial. People will tell you that the North Node represents what you’re incapable of, your opposite, and the parts of your life that seem hopelessly out of control simply because of those incapabilities and innate shortcomings.
I am new to all this and very far from knowledgable, but most of that reads like „You hate pottery and you suck at it. But you‘re doomed to spend your whole life working in it until you hopefully suck a bit less.“

Then we have the dragon head and tail metaphor, and that somehow after a certain age limit, you start being more like your North than your South Node.

It seems very confusing to me, especially since I still think of the North Node energy as an energy that manifests in a person, a power they can tap into when they need it the most, a part of them and not something foreign. Can someone help me better understand this?

Western Astrology how can i stop attracting people who’s charts aren’t compatible with mine?

these are my placements: taurus sun, leo moon, leo rising , taurus mercury, aries venus, cancer mars, scopio jupiter, aries north node.

as an aries venus and i keep attracting capricorn venus and idk how to make it stop . talking to them feels like chore because i have 6h capricorn.

i keep attracting virgo moons and it makes my blood boil because they are so boring !!!! i’ve literally attracted two people that had aquarius sun virgo moon capricorn venus. idk what i’m doing wrong to keep attracting them.

i always attract sag and gemini suns/mars specially even tho i got zero gemini placements and my only sag placement is pluto sag!!! this new guy i’m talking to has a gemini stellium - 🥀

even tho i’m a cancer mars i barley attract earth mars signs and it pmo!! just nothing but air and fire smh.

General Question Sun’s at 0’27 Capricorn, Venus is in 28’21 Sag. Do you consider this a Sun - Venus conjunction?

Does it count as an conjunction between Sun - Venus?

I have this in a composite chart with a friend, but I don’t know, it’s out of sign, does this count as a conjunction? Do you count this as a conjunction?

General Question Getting better at reading charts

I was hoping people could share some tips to practice reading charts. I do not want to read people I know, but I want to get to know myself and what system works best for me when doing readings. How did you do it?

I am thinking of doing free readings on reddit in exchange of feedback, but I have read people usually do not even say thanks so I do not want to spend 30min or so on someone that won’t even answer…. How did you get feedback and how did you get to know what system worked best for you? Was it intuition or was it people saying they do or dont resonate with it?

General Question Physical changes when in retrograde question

Hi I have a question for astrologers regarding Venus retrograde, I heard that it isn't advised to make any changes to ones physical appearance during this time, does this also apply to those who have Venus in retrograde in their Natal chart? As I have heard those with natal Venus in retrograde have an easier time per say. I have it, my rising sign is Capricorn rising and I've seen that this retrograde is regarding more about my public image like in my professional setting(I'm pretty certain) I'm no expert. For the past few months I've been wanting to do a 180 on my physical appearance such as dyeing my hair, getting piercings and tattoos even now I feel like I should do it but im just wary, please let me know! Thank you!!

Reccomendation Request Best apps or webs for planetary transits

Hi! I just started learning astrology seriously so I hope I can ask what I mean with the right words :)

I want a website or application that can give me a calendar with the moon phases + all the transits. For example, I want to see where saturn is today so I can study the effects in different charts (this is an example maybe not the right one).

I downloaded Starcrossed but it doesn’t give me for example a calendar for a planet or an overview of today with all the planets, I can see it by selecting the day and the planet which is tedious. Also I do not trust other social media because a lot of people promote apps by an undisclosed ad…

I do not want to pay and I prefer things that do not use AI, so if you can give me recommendations and maybe people can use my post for guidance too :)

Discussion How many "chain reactions" or "ruler jumps" can you go through when reading natal charts? (Sorry idk the vocabulary well)

Okay, so I first started dabbling in astrology several years ago, and I'm finally starting to get a deeper understanding of things. I recently learned that you need to look at the ruler of the sign of any given house to get a fuller picture of what's going on. So helpful!

And then just now, I found out about perfection years (which is so cool btw omg), and this question occurred to me. Can you keep looking at the rulers of a house a couple of times? Or would that just be complete jiberish?

Example, since l'm not sure l'm making sense:

I'm 26 right now, so it's a 2nd house perfection year. My second house is in Leo, which is ruled by the Sun. What I'm wondering is, does going down the rabbit hole tell you more? My Sun is the 5th house in Scorpio, which is ruled by Pluto. My Pluto is in the 6th house in Sagittarius, which is ruled by Jupiter. My jupiter is in my 10th house in Aries, which is ruled by mars..... and so on and so on....

I hope this is okay to ask here! Thanks in advance can't tell if it's finally making sense or if l've gone mad

Technique Question What is the process of reading a natal chart?

I'm reading my first natal chart and I feel overwhelmed. Sects, domiciles, planets, aspects, orbs, signs, etc.

What is the process? What do I start with, and what comes next?

Thank you! I'm using hellenistic astrology.
