Idk a friend of mine wanted me to make a Wrecks sim where you could control them
Tombstone is just there cuz I got bored and place his model there
Both legs and spinner can be controlled, just that I dec to power down the spinner to try walking first (having the spinner on will vibrate Wrecks across the floor)
I got impatient at the end

From "Matty" to "Matt" to "Matthew", this guy is one of then premier builders and drivers. Has he changed teams? What happened to his team (and family)?

It seems
This competition and in the previous ones when they try to bring the Hammersaw forward to strike, the saw grinds to a halt as it moves forward and down, it was very obvious against Terrortops but it’s been happening before, and made them completely ineffective compared to Sawblaze even though they had many chances.

Well this can only be for the normal reasons someone would part company with an organisation 😬

I doubt someone has as many major awards as he has with 15 non-championship tournament wins at NHRL alone, but he has 30lb Megatron being 2 time championship winner and 250lb Sawblaze having a championship as well. Excluding cross over between Battlebots heavyweights and the general heavyweights for simplicity. I know team seems reasonable has had bots win in different weight classes for their team, but not for individual captains.

the lost art form of robot filmography.
Once upon a time there used to be artistry in making robot combat. Now every shot is flat and boring. Let me explain.
Let's look at classic robot wars, when the would have any robotier introduce their robot instead of doing just 1 flat boring shot they would break it up with very simple actions either the robotier take of armour to how the inside or do display of the weapon they would given a distinct action and the camera work break up any interview clean and simple breaks though do follow though shots of the weapon, zoom-ins of the inside and so much more and the annoying thing is these are simple things we have forgotten how to do.
Like look at this most recent season of battlebots, a series that such bad editing they re-made the first episode it was that bad, and even the fixed version with is better relays to heavy on event’s and old battlebots footage and has very static camerawork of robotiers, where is artistry in caring on how these robots are filmed and photographed like if you don’t care you would snap a photo of a robot but if you cared for the robot and artistry of the robot you would get the correct angel get the correct lighting and correct backing to make it stand out and there is none of this and it isn’t just battlebots.
NHRL is also at fault at this while yes the “hero” shots are good ideas and give much needed movement to a shot they can fill to ridged and repetitive and it feels some robotiers need a bit of direction or given the ability to let out their personality as i do feel they fear they cannot show much of that to have a chance with pro league and look good on camera.
Heck battlebots had their own hero shots but they had so much more character as there was more freedom and creativity in a blank canvas battlebots gave the teams as it being a picture meant teams and procedures could try different things.
We as a fandom should be promoting and supporting upcoming robot photographers and filmographers, i would also love to discuss what makes an artistic robot photo shoot a simplistic one as this is something we can disagree with in interesting ways to get unique and interesting ideas of how to take a robot photograph.
It is indeed an art form that is in desperate need of new faces and more support and re kindle this lost art and re-define what it meant to take a pic of a robot or robot fight

Witch Doctor has made it to the finals on 4 separate occasions.
World Championship Season 4
World Championship Season 6
Champions Season 1
Pro League Season 1
Can they finally win a season this time?

Finally got the time to sit down and watch the latest episode of pro league.
Man, what a bummer.
I was really hoping either Minotaur or Manta would go all the way. Frietas’ driving has been so on point I really thought he deserved it. Not sure what happened in that fight against witch doctor but minotaur really didn’t seem to be on point.
And obviously the manta fight just sucked, I was unsure who would come out on top and I was hoping for a great fight either way like twins vs golden fury. Props to the twins team for helping out in the pits, that’s such an awesome display of sportsmanship and why the community is so great.
At least we will see Minotaur v Manta and I hope it’s a great fight with both bots at their full potential!

For the 3rd place showdown, I just hope that Manta can fix their bot because if they couldn't (or even worst case scenario, couldnt make it at all), Minotaur would automatically get the 3rd place as in the knockout round, there's no alternates and/or reserves afaik.
For WD vs The Twins, I want The Twins to win to create a record; the first multibot to win it all

I want to make this so bad
its name is Mousewheel
is there any way to make it a real thing without knowing much engineering?

Let’s see where the fans are at

For large bots the trend seems to be milled aluminum bodies rather than welded or bolted pipes or beams, like Tombstone uses. Are the aluminum bodies usually one piece, or are they sections bolted together? The second seems easier to repair, but perhaps at the expense of fastener weight. How many use sections versus unibody? Welded plates seem another option.
Is the shift away from pipe frames because too few know how to weld, or do they have another downside?

Man the meta changed so much so many vertical saws and no more drum and push bots

Is he on each team officially? Or is he just a really nice guy trying to help as many teams as he can?

I found an old reddit post from about 10 years ago about this topic. I want to join this hobby but am a broke teenager and therefore looking for cheap alternatives. Does anyone have recommendations about internals?
EDIT: Found this amazing tutorial from Makers Muse. Provided a parts list and instructions. I think I will follow this + modifications.

The RR2 devs keep pushing out all these updates but there's still no tutorials and I'm not about to visit a bloody Discord just to learn. I know about Battle RC and they finally stopped with the whole CAD software import nonsense but is there any other robot combat game out there now?

Bots are in the next pic, I added Beta

Can't imagine what the 3 remaining episodes can be about
r/battlebots • u/CypherBrittainne • 4d ago
I'm gonna be honest, if Manta wasn't able to fix the bot in time, it'll be a walk in the park for Minotaur. And iirc if you forfeit in this knockout rounds, there's no replacement. So, if Manta was forced to forfeit due to unable to fix their bot in time, Minotaur would automatically win by default and get that 3rd place/bronze.

Bots: Valkyrie, Tombstone, Hypershock, Bombshell, Endgame and Wrecks
For some reason Valkyrie won’t move, Bombshell got stuck by the table, and Endgame was pinned by Hypershock for most of the fight
