A little empathy for administrative workers

i am also very anxious about results, but try to frame it with empathy for the difficulty of producing organized results, uploading and making sure everything is in order. If you've seen the backend of admin work, I wouldn't be surprised by NY's old tech if there are people individually checking the right PDFs are uploading in each individual portal. also, the results are no later than they have been historically. just assume that people are doing their best job and the results will come out, without errors, when they are ready -- there is no way they are trying to make anyone suffer, I am sure they are working very hard. plus, its not like these people get paid crazy money to do this job. its a job.

Bar exam fee waiver -TX

Has anyone had any experience getting approved for a Texas Bar Exam fee waiver?

I unfortunately did not pass the July exam and am preparing to retake it in February.
As a first-generation law graduate who is financially responsible for everything on my own, I’m trying to figure out how to cover the cost of retaking the exam. Honestly, it’s embarrassing for me to even have to ask, but I know I can’t be the only person who has experienced financial hardship during this process.

If anyone has been approved for a fee waiver or knows of any grants, scholarships, or other resources that help cover bar exam costs for repeat takers, I would genuinely appreciate any guidance or advice. Thank you in advance. ❤️

MPRE SCORE

Question - Michigan results came out and I did not pass. That is fine but i just realized that i may not have submitted my updated MPRE score for when I took it in August (and passed). I initially took it back in March of this year and did not get a successful score the first time around.

I assumed my score had been automatically transferred forwarded but in all honesty im not sure. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Failed MD Nextgen by 3 points

Hi folks, I missed the mark for MD by 3 points. Scored a 613.

Unfortunately I am not able to afford bar prep, I did purchase the NCBE package to prep for July. Would anyone be willing to pass on their study materials to me if they’ve passed? Appreciate it in advance!

Hello! I passed the bar exam and will be sworn in this week and after plan on transferring my score to Idaho. After I submit my application does anyone know how long the process takes to be licensed and be able to practice law in Idaho.

how to study for first retake?

I am in Illinois and scored a 251 on the July bar exam. I only need a 266, but I’m aiming for a 270. My first question is, how realistic is it to jump up 20 points? Second, I don’t know what bar prep to use for this next try. I used Kaplan for the first time, didn’t love it but did about 80% of the program. Obviously, that didn’t work. I was interested in themis, and was definitely going to get Grossman, (unless someone can convince me not to). I was also recommended goat bar prep. I don’t believe in thinking that I will pass just because I’m going to buy five different things, I want to get only the stuff that will work and will be the most helpful to jump up the 20 points. I really struggled with the writing, kaplan did not prepare enough for that, and did not have any licensed questions for the mbe. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did NJ claim November release date when asked for all/any past releases (besides 2021)?

Looking for the lovely Filipino-American woman who lent me a pencil at the July 2026 Illinois Bar Exam!

Hi everyone!

I'm a Korean attorney, and I passed the July 2026 Illinois Bar Exam as first taker!

I'm hoping to find a beautiful and kind Filipino-American woman I met at the exam center in Chicago. She was born in the U.S. and is of Filipino descent.

During the exam, she kindly lent me a pencil with an eraser. Thanks to her, I was able to change my answers to six questions, which I believe really helped me pass!

We had agreed to meet outside the exam center afterward, but somehow we missed each other.

I've been wanting to thank her ever since.

If you're reading this, I just want you to know that I passed! ❤️ Your small act of kindness meant so much to me.

I really hope you passed too!

If this sounds familiar, please reach out. I'd love to reconnect and thank you properly! 😊

O St. Joseph of Cupertino who by your prayer obtained from God to be asked at your examination, the only preposition you knew. Grant that I may like you succeed in passing the Bar Examination.

In return I promise to make you known and cause you to be invoked.

O St. Joseph of Cupertino pray for me

O Holy Ghost enlighten me

Our Lady of Good Studies pray for me

Sacred Head of Jesus, Seat of divine wisdom, enlighten me.

Amen 🙏

(Not out yet) NY-To everyone who took the bar exam, if you fail, don’t give up on yourself.

My results aren’t out yet, and honestly, I don’t know if I’m going to pass either. But I wanted to write this for anyone who might need to hear it.

I know how much this exam means to so many of us. For some, it’s about keeping a job. For others, it’s about starting a career, supporting their families, fulfilling a promise, or finally achieving something they’ve worked toward for years.

And life doesn’t just stop because we’re preparing for the bar. Some of us have gone through job changes, financial difficulties, family responsibilities, relocations, or unexpected life circumstances. We all walk into that exam room carrying things that nobody else can see.

I’m a foreign-trained candidate, and I’ve been self-studying because I simply can’t afford a commercial bar prep course. I’ve done what I could with the resources I had. Was it enough? I honestly don’t know. I want to be able to look back someday and feel proud of myself for having the courage to keep trying, even when the odds weren’t necessarily in my favor.

If I fail, I’ll be disappointed. I’ll probably cry. I’ll question everything I’ve done. But I don’t think I’m ready to give up on this dream just yet.

Something I’ve noticed from conversations with other candidates at my test venue is that we don’t always talk about how well we performed or whether we think we’ll pass. Sometimes, we just talk about the future. What comes next? Where do we go from here? What opportunities are still out there?
And I think that’s important.

Please don’t let this disappointment become a burden you carry into every opportunity that comes your way.

If you have a job interview, go to it. If there’s an opportunity worth pursuing, pursue it. If you need to change jobs, change direction, or take some time to figure things out, that’s okay too.

You still have knowledge, skills, experiences, and qualities that no exam result can take away from you. One disappointing result doesn’t erase everything you’ve accomplished to get here.
And if you didn’t pass, I hope you know that your effort wasn’t meaningless. You are not less intelligent, less capable, or less deserving of becoming an attorney because of one exam result.
Take your time. Cry if you need to. Take a break. Figure out what works for you financially, mentally, and professionally. There’s no shame in needing more time, and there’s no shame in choosing a different path either.

But if this is still something you want, please stick around. You’ve already made it this far.
I don’t know whether I’ll be celebrating or grieving when my results come out. Maybe I’ll be right there with some of you, figuring out how to start all over again.

Whatever happens, I hope we can all be a little kinder to ourselves.

And I’m not giving up on myself either.
Sending love to everyone waiting, celebrating, grieving, or trying to figure out what comes next.
