Question/Help Wanted Still looking for Sid the Chocolate Burmese 💔

Post image
202 Upvotes

On 9 January 2026, Sid was taken from us and dumped by our neighbour. We haven’t seen him since.

He had his GPS collar removed and dumped at the end of our street.

Sid was allegedly driven to ARC North Vet Hospital that morning, then dumped after at Weza Lane, KumeĹŤ.

We fear the worst, but we won’t give up on him.

💰 $2,000 REWARD for information leading to Sid’s safe return.

Please, if you know anything, speak up. And if you don’t, please share. Thank you everyone who has shared potential sightings or sent posts of cats that might be Sid.

Sid is so loved, so missed, and deserves so much better than this. 💔

Rant The drivers flying flags on their cars are ridiculous. It should be banned.

I keep seeing so many drivers flying Tongan and Samoan flags from their cars. It’s ridiculously stupid and dangerous. I literally saw multiple cars with flags and poles sticking out on the highway. I bet it won’t be banned until someone gets impaled by one while driving on the highway.

Edit

Love the people screaming “racism” or calling me a killjoy because “it’s just a piece of fabric.” You forget that these large flags are often being held up by metal or wooden poles, and at 100 km/h, they’re pretty dangerous if they come loose, especially when they’re being held by someone or secured with tape... There are ways to celebrate safely with smaller flags or without sticking massive ones to cars.

Genuine question. Missed out on tickets at every opportunity online so my next best idea is to sit outside. Is this possible lol

Question/Help Wanted AT Infringement Opinion

• Upvotes

I just want to get your guys opinion on this before I also consult a lawyer on monday.

On the 29th of July on my way home from uni, i received a fine notice on my windshield for a expired rego in the park-and-ride carpark. Immediately, the next day, I paid the fine and renewed my rego expecting it to be a one-time occurance.

However, six to seven weeks later, I get a letter in the mail of a reminder notice for the same expired rego issue. I rung them up only for them to tell me it was a new fine for another day that I had not previously known about. I tried to dispute it however AT rejected my claim stating that they can serve notice anyhow and it does not need to appear on my windshield. Currently, my options are take them to court or pay the fine.

I don’t know how strong my argument is since i’m arguing on a fair grounds basis where if i had previously known or been informed of that fine the issue would have been corrected avoiding me the other fine.
I feel as if i have a weak argument. Thoughts?

Discussion Auckland Council Employees....

Just looking for information on how normal it is to have employed council workers running 5 to 15 limited companies sign off on consents where their own listed companies could be used. Is it just me or is this clearly a conflict of interest?

Question/Help Wanted Titanic Exhibition

Just trying my luck - is anyone going to the Titanic exhibition in the next few weeks that would mind picking me up something from the gift shop and I could sort out retrieving from you? I have no interest in going myself - although have heard good things - but know someone who went and regretted not making a purchase at the time and would love to remedy this for them for Christmas.

Thanks, and enjoy the Auckland sunshine today!

Question/Help Wanted Weed / agapanthus removal costs?

• Upvotes

We have a couple of large arum lillies and a bunch of agapanthus in our garden that I want to get rid of. We have two small kids so finding the bandwidth to do it ourselves is hard. Wondering if anyone has paid an outfit to come in and do it for you and if so, whether you could share approx costs?

Question/Help Wanted Anyone not have (but want) plans for Halloween at home?

I know this question is dodgy as shit... but is there anyone not doing anything for Halloween who would be open to a random person hangout? My friends and I have just been deliberating a situation and we're deciding who's house to host at and lowkey there's no best option. Does anyone have a living situation where they're able to make noise and would be down to do things like watch movies, eat junk, play card games, drinking games (not explicit obvi), and just hangout?

We're a group of 5-7 people in our 20s, mixed gender.

I know I said drinking games and able to be loud but despite that we're all respectful of spaces, clean, and (I'd say) down to earth. We would bring food, lollies, and alcohol. We're fun but not petty and not looking for drama, like we're chill.

Yes, technically we would be taking advantage of you but also we would love to meet some new people and make some friends. (Especially for a spontaneous event).

Shot in the dark 😭 but lmk, thanks!

Have seen these chalk logos on various pavements around Ponsonby, Parnell and Newmarket. They look a little like CND symbols. Any idea what they are for?
