I’m shooting a cmmg conversion through a 16” m and p 5.56 barrel with a cheap red dot.
I’m routinely hitting 4” steel at 50 yrds. Quarter sized dots at 25 yrds.
For just plinking and maybe suburban varmint duty is it really worth a dedicated barrel, new hand guard, and cmmg collar?
I’d kinda rather use the money for a suppressor and a dedicated lower.
Will adding a suppressor effect current accuracy?
AI says yes. But y’all know better.
Thanks for your input.

I'm seeking as much information I can find on the Bushmaster Carbon C22 upper from the combo kit. I've found a listing online for $125 usd shipped. It's listed as new old stock. I've already done a lot of Googling but I'm having a hard time finding solid information on it.
I've read online that it can take Blackdog mags. I'm having a hard time finding information on stuff like the bcg.
I'm worried about sourcing parts when something like the firing pin inevitably breaks. Any help/information would be greatly appreciated!

This is just a quick video to show that I actually build, and run my guns I don’t need to modify my barrels when they’re manufactured correctly from the start.
I have around six .22 LR builds. Five use CMMG barrels, while the sixth uses a Chinese-made knockoff. 🇨🇳 The difference in my experience? All five CMMG barrels have performed wonderfully. Those five builds account for the .22 LR videos I’ve posted across my multiple accounts over the years.
As for my most recent build using a competitor’s parts, I’ll leave that one alone for now. 😂 I’m still trying to get it dialed in, and the results haven’t been impressive.
Here’s the setup featured in this video:
CMMG 9inc barrel and bolt
Red spring from 🐗 Buddy
Upgraded Super Strike firing pin with green spring from 🐗 Buddy
0.89oz aluminum weight
JP Enterprises light trigger springs
Trigger Kicker
CMMG $35 trigger group
Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 magazine
I’m sharing my actual experience with these builds, not just talking about parts on paper. Five CMMG barrels, years of videos, and plenty of hands-on experience speak for themselves. 💯 I make my guns run 🏃♂️ in under 24 hours.

AR-22 Trigger Kicker FTW 🙌🔥 I’m done playing around with these Super Safeties. Almost $500 worth of trips down the drain, and I’m finally locked in with what works for me. I know who makes the best super safeties for the AR-22. Y’all can keep experimenting with parts — I found what I’m sticking with. 💯
Brrrrrt out! 💨🔥

I want to go from a 16” to a 12”. I have a bore buddy upper. Is it as simple as just undoing a nut? I’ve heard about head spacing etc when first wanting to build a .556 and that scared me away and just bought an upper. Is it the same for .22 or is it just simply unthreading and re threading a new barrel on

9” .22LR, 3POS atrius, TUNA CANS receiver set. rest just are random leftover parts. Only had to buy the stock & barrel. S/O whoever pmo the carry handle sight 😘

It’s a good day for a sawzall or bore buddy sales. Yall sell just the upper without BCG? Time for a shorter upper

Since BoreBuddy took me for my last Apogee 21” Precision barrel, I’m forced to order these and give them a shot. I’ll be testing soon! Stay tuned for the results. 💯

update to: Original post
BB is pretty clear that the reduced power hammer spring is "recommended" for AS Designs ARC Fire V2 (& V1?) so, it shouldn't have surprised me that I needed to swap out my old mil spec hammer spring to get the thing to cycle in FRT mode properly. The light spring (yellow 4.25 in-lbs.) wasn't enough for my lower but the extra-light (blue 3.5 in-lbs.) was what worked.
I was then, finally able to get the unit to run with a couple different brands of 40gr. HV ammo including bulk Federal ammo. At a little under $.08 a round, I was happy.
So, If you have an ARC Fire equipped lower, and you are going to pick one of these uppers from BB, do yourself a favor and get the light spring kit with the order as BB recommends. To be clear, the weapon fired in semi mode pretty reliably. My issue was sustained fire in FRT mode only.
As shown in the photos, I also decided to lightly polish the feed ramp in the bolt assy collar because I felt like the machining marks were a little to rough under my fingernail. Not terrible, just not great. I didn't go hard and was careful not to make any dramatic changes to the ramp geometry. with the Dremel on low speed with an 3/16-1/4" felt polishing bit and a little polishing compound and took approximately 15 seconds. It looked and felt substantially smoother.
Has anyone else polished the feed ramp of their BB bolt? I would be interested in others' experience with this type of modification.
Did this make any difference to the operability/reliability of the system or was it merely the lighter hammer spring that made the difference? I may never know. Did I void any warranty by BB? Not sure I care. I know it didn't hurt and it cycles as expected now.
Happy shooting!

Is there a special designed chamber cleaner? I know for .556 there’s a star patch or whatever they are called. Same idea but for .22. Or is just a brush and lcp the go to?

I have a bore buddy upper (before the no-tune came out). Does anyone know what the difference is between the no-tune upper and the one I have? Mine runs pretty well but still has occasional issues depending on the ammo. Is it just that bore buddy pre-adjusts the weights? Or is it something fundamentally different about the design? Ultimately trying to decide if it’s worth shelling out more money for the no tune upper

Currently got my 11.5 dedicated 22lr build setup with the Atrius worked the weights and got I to run in semi- and sometimes in ss but currently dealing with the round getting stuck and not firing, manually recycling it then it fires. Anybody know what’s up or what to look at next
Fresh build using Bore Buddy quiet bolt w/bolt weight (non adjustable), Bore Buddy basic 7” barrel, milspec upper receiver, raptor ch w/BB insert, Centurion CM4 lower, LaRue MBT2S trigger/hammer (installed correctly), talon selector, Kriss mags with BB springs, KNS 1913 buffer adapter, Cmmg Zeroed suppressor.
I keep getting light strikes. Initially felt like the locating pin was stopping the barrel from fully seating so I removed it and reinstalled the Barrel. Seemed like it maybe went a hair further and I was hopeful. Went to the range today and it is definitely better but not good. I am at least getting 50% light strikes. I tried putting a small piece of cardboard between the buffer and the adapter which seemed to help a bit as well. So I turned the 1913 plug in a little deeper, as far as it would go and still allow the receiver to close. This netted a minor improvement but I am still getting light strikes. I think my next step may be to try a different upper receiver but not convinced that is going to do anything. I can try a different trigger as well but this was a functioning trigger prior.
Hoping you guys may have some ideas or suggestions for me. Happy to take some pics of anything if that is helpful. I’m pretty competent with building AR’s just fairly new to .22 AR. Thanks in advance for any help!

Finally got all the parts to put together my first 22LR build. Starting out with the KLIK but I’m also picking up an OCL Ti 22 to test with
Should be able to get it to the range on Sunday and test it out, I’m super excited! Unfortunately, the UCS stock would not fit this lower with the rear charging handle setup, so I’m considering the Sig stocks or that Panzer “brace” as alternatives.
Any tips or tricks I need to know?! How is everyone lubing these things, just CLP and gun oil? Do they like grease like EWG?

Comparing RTB and CMMG they seem to be the same. Arms Unlimited seems to be better than RTB and CMMG while being cheaper, but people say Borebuddy is more durable. How good is the Borebuddy to the other conversions really?
I also see that Borebuddy makes upgrade kits, would there be any valve in upgrading the Arms Unlimited (Colt) conversion?
