I’m so confused why do AirPods Pro 3 sound muffled? I have the ear tips proper size and everything. They don’t sound bad but the muffle ness or hearing like if I’m kind of under water is bothering me. These are my first Buds I actually put in my ear I usually listen through iPhone speakers and every other device with their own speakers. Only use headset for gaming but those sound clear compared to this. For music depending on the genre it’s alright but for everything else that is not music is pretty bad like YouTube live streams. Voice sound muffled and background voices even worse. Has anyone experienced something similar? Are they supposed to sound like this? I know there is headphones accommodations setting and now new custom eq. But I would think they would be really good and clear from the box. And ngl the custom eq slider is very vague so what would be a good custom eq for general clear sounds an all rounder sound for everything. Thanks in advance

I bought a macbook air m4 on 26/9/2025 and got these airpods 4(anc) for free with apple student offer, I didn't use these airpods and kept the box untouched for an year because i had another pair of basic wireless earphones and i was using them already, on 15/10/2026 i opened the seal of airpods and tried pairing them, no matter how much i tried i was not able to pair them because they are simply not visible in the bluetooth device scan of my android phone and macbook, i tried troubleshooting and many other ways mentioned in YouTube, apple website and asked chatgpt gemini also but no use, i called the customer care yesterday and they told me i had to run a physical diagnosis in a nearby apple authorised service center, there is non in my place currently and bought these apple hebbal so it takes 9 more days for me to go to apple hebbal so what the chance that they fix the issue and make it work or replace it for free ? (No apple care+)

I have a pair of AirPods 3 (Normal AirPods, not pro 3) The charging case will only show a charge only while connected to a charger. The case will go dead after being unplugged and they won’t reset either. Is there any ways it can be resolved that anyone knows about? I just want to know if there’s any possible uncommon solutions before I confirm I need a replacement or not. I want to keep the pair of AirPods as a backup pair if I can.

Ok so by this point after what a year of their release? I’ve put my airpods pro 3s through the most rigorous durability testing by my own sheer clumsiness. I’ve dropped them In rainy gravel, stepped on them in such, ran them over briefly…. photos show chipped areas \:

Now I’ve really done them in by doing laundry and pulling my blankets out the dryer just for one airpod to plop out of the fabrics of spacetime…. then I fish for the other which I hear as I turn the cycler in the dryer. I pick it out and can only think to throw them in the case and hope they just work after I leave em alone. They were warm and dry haha.

Just gave them a full test after charging and wow… like dude these things are so seriously impressive they might sound even better having been spin cycled through a WASHER AND DRYER (like what)! ANC sounds perfect as does Transparency mode. I love these things plus the equalizer in iphone settings that came with ios27 (no need for third party apps or even switching main music apps thank you Apple lol).

I have the APP2, and it's the first one that's really fit well for me (with the comply tips). I do not have a hook on the bottom of my earlobe, so there is nothing for the AP to rest on. Based on that I'm afraid to move from the APP2 until the battery is totally gone. Anyone have similar ears to me with one of the newer APs? Let me know your experience.

as of today, it seems like my airpods pro 3 case has died without reason for the 3rd time. it does NOT accept charge and days prior to this the battery icon on the iphone widget acts sporadic (when charging it drops to 0 and then quickly charges to its real percentage) i have replaced the airpods case twice via apple through warranty. am i the only one? it cannot have happened to me 3 times without it being widespread?

So I was searching for my right Airpod with Find My, so I pressed the “play sound” button on the “right bud” (the other option was “case + left bud”, because the left bud was in my Airpod case (it’s relevant i promise)) and the left bud started playing the noise from the case. So I decided to play sound on my left airpod by taking it out of the case and pressing play sound: it started playing sound, like it should. so i put it back in the cas, and pressed play sound for the right airpod again; the left airpod was playing the sound.

what is going on, why isn’t my right airpod playing the sound ?

I already owned a pair of AirPods 2, but I decided to buy the AirPods 4 because they support Dolby Atmos with Spatial Audio. I figured they’d deliver better sound when watching movies on my Apple TV 4K.

After comparing the two, I was surprisingly disappointed. Although the AirPods 4 produce a noticeably different listening experience thanks to Spatial Audio, I actually prefer the sound of my AirPods 2.

In my opinion, the Spatial Audio on the AirPods 4 sounds too hollow, airy, and echoey. I also find that the surround effects sound louder, crisper, and more pronounced with my AirPods 2.

Here’s an example of what I mean:

Imagine a scene in which a window shatters and pieces of glass fall to the floor all around the room. With my AirPods 2, I can hear the individual glass shards hitting the floor to my left, right, and behind me more clearly and with greater impact.

With the AirPods 4, the soundstage is noticeably wider, meaning the audio feels larger and more spacious. However, the sounds coming from the left, right, and rear seem less pronounced, and the overall audio has a hollow, echoey quality. It kinda sounds like I’m listening to the movie inside a tunnel.

So, while the AirPods 4 create a more spacious soundstage as well as better sounding center channel dialogue (sounds more like it’s coming from the TV), I feel like my AirPods 2 do a better job of delivering clear, impactful surround effects.

Has anyone else compared the AirPods 2 and AirPods 4 (or AirPods 3 w/Spatial Audio) when watching movies with Dolby Atmos on Apple TV 4K? I’m curious whether others have noticed the same differences or if it’s just my personal preference.

The H2 chips are already a few years old, I’m wondering when will apple launch their next gen of the headphone chips.

Or given the current manufacturing processes and the processing power needed for noise cancellation in earphones, the H2 chip is already more than enough and actually has performance to spare. Unless they add more hardware features to the earphones, such as an infrared camera, there is no need to update to a newer processor, as they simply do not need that much computing power?

I just went to Verizon to upgrade my phone. I thought I grabbed my airpods when I left because I also took my iPad figuring I'd have down time.

When I got in to the Verizon store I did a pocket check and I didn't have my airpods. No big deal, didn't think much of it. Went through and got my phone upgraded, got home...no airpods. The last location is showing at/near the Verizon store. But it's showing from 2 hours ago. My new phone and my iPad both show this location data.

I drove back to the store, parked within the same single parking space, and they hadn't found them (I really didn't think they would) and I've looked through my car. I know they were in my house last night because I was on them right until I went to bed and I plugged them in and charged them.

They're not in the pockets of the pants I wore to the store, not in the pockets of the coat I wore to the store, not where I can see them in my car...not showing any updated location on Find My.

Does anybody have any ideas? I've taken my iPad and my new phone back out to the car as well just in case to see if they'd connect to the case if they somehow fell out somewhere.

I do have the box from when I purchased them. Can anything be done with any data from that?

I’ve had my AirPod pro 3s for about a year now and I do love the sound and noise cancellation but I’m really sick of the headaches and the pain in my left ear? Any suggestions or advice or any third party tips I could get!

I should preface this post by saying I have mild hearing loss in my left ear, while my right ear is mostly fine. I thought it was a music volume issue, but my ENT said if that were solely the case, the hearing loss would likely be the same in both ears. His thought is that my left ear was more exposed to something extremely loud at one point, which damaged a nerve and now boom, hearing loss. When a nerve dies, you aren't gonna get that hearing back without hearing aids.

I've grown to accept my hearing is what it is, but I do take steps to take care of it the best I can. This afternoon I had my music at a safe volume, then hit play on an attachment of a screen recording I'd sent to my mom. When I hit play, it was like the volume was at 110%. I quickly took the headphones out of my ears but now I'm stressed.

This isn't the first time this has happened to me. Sometimes I'll be listening to a voice note from a friend and the audio will be wayy louder than what I was using earlier.

Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, do you have any idea how to fix it? I fear I'm about to be that person who plays videos/voice notes on speaker if I don't figure this out because rn it feels like I'm playing Russian Roulette with my eardrums every time I play audio or video in iMessage.

I’m currently using the Nothing Ear earbuds with silicone tips, but I’m thinking about switching to either the AirPods Pro 3 or AirPods 5.
My biggest issue with my current earbuds is the ANC. I rarely use it because it creates an uncomfortable vacuum/pressure feeling in my ears, almost like being underwater.
I have a few questions for people who have tried these AirPods:
ANC comfort: Is the ANC on the AirPods Pro 3 more comfortable than on the Nothing Ear? Does it cause less of that vacuum/underwater pressure sensation?
AirPods 5: Is that pressure sensation less noticeable on the AirPods 5 because of their open-ear design, even with ANC enabled?
Fit: I used to own the regular AirPods 2, and they fit my ears really well. Would the AirPods 5 likely fit similarly, or has the shape changed significantly?

What would you recommend?

i have airpods pro 2 and my conversation awareness has suddenly stopped working? my iphone 17 pro max was two software updates behind so i updated to see if that would fix it and the first thing i did was try it and it worked but now its stopped working again? i’ve already tried restarting my phone, disconnecting airpods and reconnecting etc but i just wanted to see if this was happening to anyone else and if anyone knows how to fix it? pls help! i used to love this feature!

recently lost my airpods and tought i would look on find my to see where they were but my problem is that it says they are with me everywhere i go to test if it was true i went outside a few blocks and it kept updating last seen with me even though they werent. i tried searching and it says the location gets pinged via bluetooth and other iphones but it looks like its just tracking my iphone. any tips? if it helps they were gen 2

I’ve had apple AirPods Pro 3 now for about 6 months and I have needed repair 3 times.

Now going for the 4th time always the same problem.

When putting them in I hear a very loud whistle noise which gets louder when moving, or putting the music louder to the point that my ear actually rings. Now I’ve been to apple 3 times and each time the AirPods get replaced but now again I have this same problem. The first time it was the right one then the left, then right again and now it’s right again. I’m wondering if this is a common problem under AirPods Pro 3 or am I just really unlucky, I’m doing nothing crazy with them I don’t get them wet I only use them in the gym and at him while watching something on my phone for example so it’s not like it could get damaged by anything, I also never dropped them and clean them almost daily including the tips separately. Can anyone help me out here cause I’m getting crazy from going to the Apple Store every single time thank you very much 🙏

Considering that these are open ear, the ANC is amazing. I tested them out first inside, and then went straight to walking past a loud road. All I gotta say is, if you don’t like silicone ANC (like I dont), these are perfect.

Hey, does anyone know what could be causing my right AirPod to be significantly quieter than my left one?
I first noticed this randomly while listening to music. When I use only my right AirPod, I have to turn the volume up to around halfway just to hear it properly, while my left AirPod sounds noticeably louder at the same volume.
The weird thing is that there’s no visible earwax or buildup on either AirPod, and I’ve already thoroughly cleaned them. This started happening out of nowhere, and the issue is still noticeable when I wear both AirPods at the same time, so it’s not just a problem when using one AirPod by itself.
The sound itself is still clear on the right side; it’s just significantly quieter than the left.
Has anyone else experienced this with their AirPod 4’s? If so, were you able to fix it? I’d appreciate any suggestions!

I’ve already tried the L-R balance and even forgetting my AirPods and I tried some other things that I cannot remember.

I recently upgrade from the AirPods 3 (regular) to the new AirPods 5. And while I like the ANC feature it’s not something I need all the time and I often prefer just using the AirPods in “stupid” mode, i.e all smart features including Personalized Audio and Conversation Awareness turned off.
Despite of this, I have noticed when working from home that sometimes when I sing along to a song, something weird happens. It’s hard to describe but it’s sort of like the volume get’s turned down, or that the ANC kicks in slightly. This is only temporary but definitely noticeable. It’s not always symmetric across the left and right airpod either, you can sometimes notice this “effect” happening in a cascading manner from left->right or right->left.

I really don’t know what’s happening. It’s like the mic is always on and some of the smart features are always on even when they shouldn’t be.

I'm trying to reset this airpod 3 pro but when I do close lid for 30 secs, open lid then triple double ta, p instead of ember light showing it just flashes the green light. I've reset them before and it worked once but now it's giving me this issue. Is it because I lost the right earbud? Also I don't have IPhone, I use it on my Android since I was gifted these so can't reset it through phone. Thank you
