Board Dates

Hello! I have been 27OTS01 since beginning my application, but the board date continues to be pushed back. With the aim high outage and moving to one class per year, what does the timeline look like? Recruiter is not responsive lol

Discussion "What are my chances?" Megathread

We've all been there. You're about to submit your package for OTS, but you want to know how you stack up. Should you relax? Should you throw it all away and start over?

Well, here's the place for you to ask strangers who have never sat on an OTS board what they think. To get the best advice, include as much information as possible, like degree information, GPA, AFOQT, PCSM (if applicable), leadership experience, relevant awards, etc. If you only provide your GPA or AFOQT scores, expect to be told "who knows."

We can guess, but that's about it. We've seen people with stellar scores get rejected, and people with garbage scores get accepted. It all comes down to the needs of the Air Force and whatever the random colonel reviewing your package thinks. That being said, post your scores, help each other, and learn what you can do to improve package!

Question AFOQT Retake Advice: Strategies/Apps to Boost Verbal Composite (Word Knowledge & Pacing)?

Hey everyone,

I took the AFOQT recently and am preparing for a retake to raise my Verbal score. My Quantitative is banked at 46, but my Verbal came in low (3 Verbal / 14 Acad Aptitude), so my sole focus for the retake is getting Verbal past the 15 minimum threshold.

Reading Comprehension felt fine, but Word Knowledge (25 questions in 5 minutes) completely caught me off guard with the timing.

For those who successfully raised a single-digit Verbal score on a retest:

  1. Specific Apps & Practice Tools: Did you find tools like Magoosh GRE, Elevate, Quizlet, or AI-generated practice drills helpful for building vocabulary volume quickly?

  2. Word Knowledge Pacing Strategy: What test-day method or timed drill setup helped you maintain the 12-second-per-question pace without missing bubbles?

  3. Tutoring & Books: Any other books beside Barron's and Trivium or Wyzant tutoring specifically for Verbal Analogies and root words?

Appreciate any study schedules, tips, or resource recommendations!
