Mr. Ortiz makes a wink and nod diss at Dave Bautista calling him a “great movie star” when his only featured role at the time was The Man With The Iron Fists.

The next year, Dave becomes Drax in the first GotG movie. Its release date? August 1, 2014.

Been a fan forever and wanted a Wordle-style daily thing for wrestling, so I built one: playthepush.com

Daily Five: five questions, 15 seconds each, faster right answers score more.
Immaculate Ring: a 3×3 grid, name a wrestler who fits the row and the column (“WCW World Champ” × “Wrestled in AEW”). Rarer picks rank higher.

New card every night at midnight ET. Free, no ads, no account needed. Results share as a little score card.

The data covers WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, NXT and AEW match history. If a question’s wrong or a grid square should’ve accepted your answer, tell me and I’ll fix it. That’s the most useful feedback right now.

Today’s Ring is mean. Post your score. 👇

Personally, I have mixed feelings about it.

Eddie’s victory over Brock Lesnar at No Way Out 04 is in my view, one of the best matches & moments in pro wrestling history, period. It’s probably the greatest redemption story in pro wrestling and it’ll definitely never be topped.

The match with Kurt Angle at WM 20 was decent, but the ending wasn’t great.

Sadly, because Angle was injured, Benoit was on RAW, and Brock Lesnar gave the middle finger to Vince and left for the NFL, Eddie wasn’t given any major top stars to work with, which made his title reign a damp squib. The JBL feud was fantastic, don’t get me wrong, but Bradshaw was the only top heel that could make a feud with Eddie over the title compelling. The other heels on SmackDown (apart from Angle) would fail at that.

It was a crying shame that Eddie’s reign was such a damp squib and that WWE didn’t build up any heels to feud with him.
